  1. I am glad I weathered the storm also I am finally getting a better signal at home and even get 4g at times inside here in the Bronx. I have 4g most places I travel lately in the Bronx. I almost left but when Sprint leveled with me about what was happening a year and a half ago I decided to stay for the unlimited plan. I have attained speeds of 16.5 down and 8mb up
  2. Okee Dokee folks....I got 4G LTE signal in my house right now in the Throggsneck section of the BX tonight. I even got to do a Sensorly map inside. I went outside ad had a -78dbm and got 16.584mb down and 8.099mb up with 40ms ping. Inside I get a weak -99dbm. Just like that it disappeared and went back to 3G.
  3. I wasn't able to Sensorly it but I got 4g in Throggsneck this morning. I was on the phone and looked and saw a 4g signal for 5 minutes of the call. When I got off the phone I had no more signal.
  4. I got 4g signal today on the 6 train from Huntspoint to Parkchester. My speed in Parkchester was 16 megs up 6 megs down.
  5. Well said, I was with them when they 1st opened the doors leaving AT&T which was cellular 1 which was mobile 1, or mobile trends 1989 is so long ago lol
  6. Man if you only could Robert....their filet mignon,, NY Strip, and Porterhouse steak is very very good. Not like the junk you find in the regular super markets. In fact I buy all of my meats from Stew leonards. I will love to see LTE working there. I will be headed there shortly.lol
  7. I may go there tomorrow to test this out rofl....porterhouse steaks $4.99 a pound I think.
  8. I finally got 4g in Throggsneck in the Bronx from Tremont Avenue all the way to Pelham Bay area before it dropped, and I even mapped it on Sensorly for once. This mapping looks like it ran on I95 but I was on the service road. I had no time to check speeds.
  9. I can't speak ffor you but it seems the norm over there for the moment each time that I go to Bally's
  10. The Bronx is getting strong baby....I got LTE signal at Friday's on gun Hill road and I95, and LTE signal from Co Op City Bartow Avenue continuously to that point, and also on Boston Road near Pelham at the Vitamin Shoppe, and BJ's shopping plaza on Pelham Parkway of Westchester going into Mt. Vernon. The Bartow Avenue Co Op City, and Gunhill area towards I95 I get 7mbs down, and 5MBS up. At the BJ's shopping plaza in Pelham NY I got 11.5 down and 5mbs up. I also am getting "QWIK" pings for 40-60ms in these area's for any one that wants to know. For some reason when I try to map on Sensorly it gives me an error so I can't map it in purple!
  11. Today in Co Op City at Bally's I briefly received 4G speeds of 5-6mbs down 2-3mbs up. I went to Bruiner Avenue, and Bartow and was totally wrapped in LTE recieving 5-6mbs down. and 2-3mbs up. Last week at Gun Hill, and Paulding through Allerton Avenue d 21mbs and 5-6mbs up. I believe the Bronx will be more consistent speed wise as more sites start popping on. Patience is whats needed most now for the NYC market.
  12. Every one that is in NYC being impatient should think of your past post, and get some patients. To be so close to the finish line and complain is rediculous
  13. All those frustrated post seem like so long ago ...... it was worth every day of the wait to have this and unlimited data isn't it.
  14. http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/story/genachowski-sprint-dish-will-get-aws-4-h-block-rules-month/2012-12-02 Does this mean the Sprint is trying to use the 1900mhz frequency for AWS spectrum deploying future LTE Advance in this spectrum. If so how much stronger would this be over current LTE signal strenth
  15. I got a brief signal on Co Op City today, but did not test speed before was gone.
  16. I got LTE signal today at Paulding, Gun Hill and Boston road, Arnow and Boston road towards White Plains road..21mb down 5.8mbs up I tried to sensorly it but for some reason it gave me an error when I tried to map it
  17. I know where that is, but I think that the signal should travel over a mile at least.
  18. Not that bif that a signal can't be picked up....I was in the mall at Bally's
  19. I was in Co Op City today, and didn't get LTE signal. I was there last week also no LTE....
  20. Nice....this is the same area that I got my 1st Wimax signal in the Bronx. I will pass there tomorrow on the way to Bally's
  21. http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/02/download-latest-google-play-store-3-9-17/ I installed this already......go for it if you like
  22. This is true and where as eHRPD is not an indicator of better signal I have noticed that when the signal strength was 101-101 DBM it would register as 1xrt and fluctuate between that and CDMA. Now it Just shows a constant eHRPD, and the signal strength has increased and I am not dropping calls as I was the many months before this. This CS agent told me that there was on going work in my areas and that I would be clear by the 29, and for sure by the 30th due to network vision upgrades. Those were her words and she seemed to have a grip on what was going on in my area network vision wise. You are correct that service upgrades have been moving ahead all over the Bronx. In January I received 1.9 mbs down and 1mbs up on 3g in the Bronx. Maybe better signal strength helps eHRPD transfer operate better. I am no radio engineer, but I do notice signal -dbm being much better today
  23. Throggsneck area, and there is a good possibility that she may be correct. You make a broad statement with out knowing any particulars of "my" conversation. I understand your thinking behind your statement, but it is just a bit flawed. I hope you won't come back and try to flame me for this. Not to mention that today is the 29th and my antenna signal is way higher than normal. My -dbm is not in the -100s any more fluctuating, and it says eHRPD constantly now. Not to mention that she said the ticket shows major on going work in the area that should end today or tomorrow for sure. Areas through out the city have reported what I am reporting, and just because your area has improved does not mean all areas miraculously are online as well. Also let me just say that I am noticing better signal and call quality. The best thing about this is than it's not anecdotal because the network tester confirms this. The singal never changes to 1xrt and only displays eHRPD no matter what the -dbm is now My network tester says the Cell has wrong values or isn't in the data base can any one tell me what that may mean
  24. I was told by a Sprint CS agent that October 29th would be the last day that I have crappy service in my area the BX. Service has been sporadfic for quite some time
  25. How I updated npn rooted stock device to the new Jelly Bean Zip. 1st down load app to your computer. http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/sprint_samsung_l710/eec955eb4a5b.update_SPH-L710_LI3_to_LJ7.zip 2nd "I" took the SD card out of my phone and put it into a card reader and plugged that into a USB port on my computer Once I made sure that the zip was there I put the SD card back into my phone. 3rd I turned off the phone 4th I held the up volume button, the power button, and the home button at the same time until I saw a flash that said Samsung and let all buttons go immediately. The phone goes into update soft ware mode and a screen appears with blue writing and yellow at the bottom. Choose the update from external SD drive option The blue writing has source files that you can update, and you must pick the update that has the zip L7 file by using the volume up or down key Once you scroll down to the zip file that is the L7 Jelly Bean update hit the power key and wait until the update is done and reboots. you are now an updated SG III Jelly Bean user congratulations. This is for those that think they are to lame or is afraid of making a go of this. Don't be afraid it is really this simple and works. I hope this helps you un rooted people do what I at 1st thought may be impossible or would ruin /brick my phone. Well let me be the 1st to say don't be afraid to do this NOW! At 1st glance the settings on the drop down menu is one of my 1st favorite likes.....no more hitting the auto brightness box by mistake when using the settings key form the drop down.
