Looks like I'd better go for a drive to try to pick up Sprint 5G one. last. time. [emoji24]

Yes, I miss using Textra and being able to back up and restore my messages between phones! Google's backup is not reliable or acceptable for this.
I wish Google would release the RCS API so third-party messaging apps could take advantage of it..- 2

Impossible to tell these days LOL [emoji1787]Omg I was kidding. I'm not that absurd.- 2

Enjoy it while it lasts. Once they're done with your market, it won't get 5G anymore. They haven't done KC yet either, but they will.If that was so, It wouldn't be on my V50 right now. Also getting bands 4, 12, 66 on my V50 from T-Mobile.- 1

I believe he's talking about the new OnePlus 8, not an iPhone. Not an iPhone user. Also have Apple stores when they re-open plus any online options.- 1

I hope I can see some of these new features before my V50 loses access to 5G. [emoji22]

Or at least use a non-obvious user name. [emoji16]
I would think Sprint network employees would be most vulnerable when the Sprint network is eliminated. Up to that point they need to keep both networks operational. I have heard reports of some work still being done on Sprint sites since April 1 just to retain Sprint customers (like maintenance or increasing backhaul to make a site function). In some markets the T-Mobile network staff has a lot of former pre-merger Sprint network employees.
Your post is on the publicly visible side of S4gru.com, which could threaten your or other posters if employed now by T-Mobile. You might want to donate do you could post inside the paywall.
Most people are this site for technical information so there might be better forums.- 1

My first smartphone was the EVO 4G as well!
My first smartphone was a brick compared to the EVO 4G! [emoji23] It really was a brick - the PPC 6700 with Windows Mobile 5! (I still have it actually) I loved that phone, but grew tired of the landscape slider keyboard's width. Next was a Treo800W. That's where my love of physical keyboard phones began. I still can't type worth a dang on these giant slabs of glass!! [emoji2959]

This is what happened to me yesterday.I think it's possible, already around me service is getting really flaky, and I am obviously on T-Mobile a lot more now. I was just out getting some grub and my service literally just dropped to nothing then it popped back up on T-Mobile when I was on B41 previously with a great signal. They are moving full steam ahead it seems and I am ok with that. -
I don't know any more about it yet. And that is just from what has been reported, as they have not contacted me about it yet. But that would be ideal, or even another device option. Is there an option to do a "differential upgrade" to the S20+ and cover the incremental cost over the base S20?- 1
-
I'm not particularly interested in moving down to an S20 from the V50. I wish they'd include the S20+ as an option. :/
-
I don't know if they're messing with the tower I normally connect to or what, but my V50 is preferring TMO this morning. I've been on band 66 and band 2, whereas normally I'm on Sprint band 41, or if I'm in the basement band 25 or 26. Current camped on B2 according to SCP.
-
Means a lot to me, because apparently my V50 is gonna lose access to 5G when they build out 5G on band 41 for TMO and shut off the Sprint 5G. [emoji2959]

Kinda like my V50 threads [emoji1787]

It's nothing more than grandstanding

I don't think that was slowing much of anything down LOL

... As far as phones, I'm being told the only phones now offered on Sprint are ones that are compatible with both networks. I haven't visited Sprint's website so I can't confirm. Anyone take the trouble to look?
Last time I looked, all the new Android phones and iPhones were still available. They took the V50 off a while back.
-
Until the T-Mobile network is ready to take on all current Sprint customers, I'm sure they'll allow activations, whether they're new lines or device swaps.I am surprised that will allow new activations on the sprint network. When will they stop activating devices/SIMs on it? -
I wouldn't expect to see many more new devices offered on Sprint, but that's just my guess, and I'd expect all of them to be universally compatible.

-
I'm surprised it's even being offered on Sprint, but I assume it's because it's a universal model that works on all (or most) carriers.
-
[emoji22]I agree.
The Android Police article I linked to doesn't even mention Sprint as a "separate" carrier anymore. Damn, that was quick.- 2

I'll miss it a lot. Sprint was my first IT job out of college.

Guess my 5G reporting days are over for a while soon. Doesn't sound like you ever got much of anything useful from my V50 anyway. Are Samsung devices where you are getting the most info? I'm not sure what my next device will be.. the S20 does not excite me much, and I'm not crazy about the curved screen on the OnePlus 8.
Also a question - the accent color does not show when I'm forced down to 1X or EVDO. It did show right away when I was on LTE and enabled it.
