  1. Interesting. Fox 4 should have it set up already. Perhaps Tribune is dragging their feet while waiting on the potential merger with Sinclair. We've had ours set up in Springfield since last fall, and we're a smaller market than KC.
Yeah I'd think so too. I've been meaning to contact them and ask about it, but don't figure I'd get an informed reply anyway.

  2. I finally pulled the plug on Fiber TV, which will cut my bill by about $80. Still using YT TV, as it offers many of the channels that would require Sling Orange+Blue and the DVR is included. I still need to try some others, but this is still good and saves me almost $50/month net. After checking, I don't think my local FOX affiliate is available on any streaming service. Guess I'll have to use OTA until then.

  3. Yup, the white background is white I don't like. Why have a background at all??

    I agree. Much better without.

  4. Installed it. It was the quickest install ever. So far things seem okay, though I really hate the new icon shapes.

Are they round or square with small radius rounded corners? I'm not crazy about the latter on my 5X with Oreo.. maybe it's the white background I don't like.. can't decide.

  5. B41 is now live in Bolivar! The B41 footprint expansion is happening! Keep your eyes peeled, even in places you may not expect.

Also on Highway 13, B41 is live in Collins, Lowry City, and Clinton. Those are the KS market, but more evidence of B41 expansion.

Those Collins and Lowry City towers won't be saturated any time soon! >:)

  6. Alltel was a very healthy company financially with very low debt that would have complemented Sprint's coverage. Alltel had approached Sprint repeatedly about a merger but Forsee was totally blind. Alltel finally gave up and sold itself to a hedge fund that used Alltel's borrowing ability to borrow the money for the buyout. So Alltel was heavy leveraged after the buyout but not before. Sprint was in perfect position to merge with them before the hedge fund buyout.
Wow, that's news to me. I've lamented the missed AllTel opportunity many times, but never heard they actually approached Sprint.

  7. ..."... the carrier must consult with any Tribal Nation that expresses interest in projects in a particular county or state, even when the construction of the wireless support structure and antenna will occur on private property or property owned by the government, and not on tribal lands. ..."

Say what?! Even when the construction is NOT on tribal lands? That's nuts! Maybe edge cases like adjacent to their lands, but I'm guessing there isn't that much common sense applied.. :/

  8. That's on your local Fox affiliate. YouTube provides the equipment, they just have to get it installed. We got our YouTube TV and Hulu Live servers installed at the end of last year.
Not surprising to hear, thanks. I plan to trial them all before making my decision. Maybe by then, they will have it.

  9. The common route of most others who don't pay for Netflix. It's a "family" account.  That's why I pay for YTRed.
But now I also got Youtube TV. Not sure how long I am going to keep it.  It is almost $40/mo after taxes. Im not a huge sports guy, and it is mostly sports channels.
Ah. I hadn't considered that. :) I am not impressed with the YouTube TV channel lineup. It's pretty slim. They claim to have Fox here, but it's only the cable channels, not the local Fox affiliate. They do have the other three broadcast networks. Time to try another service.

  10. I sold one of mine, then accidentally bought another one. :/ I can still only use 5.1.1 on Sprint if I want SMS to work reliably, which sucks, but I love switching to it once in a while. It's just the perfect size for me. And frankly, it's faster than my KEYone.

  11. I ended up returning the Essential because of the disappointing RF performance.  When adjustments were made at my local site when B41 was just being brought online, there were periods when the site was shut down.  At those times, my other phones were at least holding 1x800 solid from a neighboring site (Nexus 5X most of the time).  However, the Essential was frequently losing 1x800.  That was the last straw for me.
    That's disappointing to hear. Thanks.

  12. I believe it says he's getting Hulu for free, which Sprint customers can get as long as they are on an unlimited plan.

No, I thought the same thing at first, but his total amount is amazon + youtube red. I have the free hulu too.

  13. I got Sling when it first came out, it was pretty nice for a brand new product.
But I have a mix of OTA, Youtube Red, Netflix, Amazon Prime and now Hulu. I pay for Youtube Red Family ($15/mo), Amazon Prime if I just used video would be $8.33/mo. OTA, Netflix, Hulu is free.
$23.33/mo + tax is way better than the $160 was paying for DirecTV. Never watched it cause either nothing was ever on, or I'd sit down to eat+watch TV and I would finish my food by the time the commercials finished. :P. Noticed towards the end of shows commercials would be ~5 minutes in length.
I just noticed you said Netflix was free - how the heck are you getting it for free?

  14. Can boost access that? I only ask cause I might go there this summer. I was planning on getting a VZW or metro sim to be able to use my phone there.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Can you use a Virgin sim in a Boost phone? I didn't think you could do that because of the CDMA aspect.
I do not believe so. Generally speaking, Sprint’s prepaid brands don’t have have access to data roaming.
Virgin does, at least on the Inner Circle thing, which I don't really know much about. Their map shows it as Extended data, and shows Extended LTE nearby, but not in Marquette.

  15. The $179 price might be a giveaway, too. [emoji3]
Bah, I don't pay attention to insignificant little details like price! :D
