  1. I am a Sprint and tmobile lover even though I only use Sprint. One or the other needs to take the duopoly down. I am a underdog lover this is true. I do own a tmobile hotspot but I never use it. Also if tmobile does follow through I will personally fund one member to become a premier sponsor.

We heard it first folks.  Let this go on record.  Why don't you use your tmobile hotspot?

  2. This is good news for Tmobile customers and everyone in general.  We should be rooting that Tmobile is trying to fix its 2G network to LTE to be more competitive.  Hopefully it fuels Son and Dan to really step up their game quickly to fix Sprint to compete with Tmobile.  With NV being behind by a quarter if not longer its hard not to think that Sprint got complacent.  Sprint really needs to get a kick in the rear to step it up because it just seems like Sprint will not meet its mid 2014 dates to complete NV since there are still plenty of markets that have yet to be started.

But then again the mid 2015 date seems rather aggressive and I still need to see Tmobile actually back up what they are saying.

  3.

Interesting but I don't have Skype app on my phone and I noticed sometimes I get the Google Play Services app draining the heck out of the battery.  I would probably think this is due to whenever you use something like Google Maps or some app tracking your location.  I usually turn off GPS after I don't need to use it anymore.  However it seems like for some reason it gets into this infinite loop where it keeps searching for location even though you don't want to and drains battery.

  4. not yet. if that were the case then anti-rollback would be in Sprints ZVC update without a doubt.

But Sprint has had two 4.4.2 builds built AFTER TMO/ATT have put out KK.

Sprint was also the first carrier to block loki.

It's not likely anti-rollback will come in ZVC... but the possibility is there.

I hope the ZVC update doesn't contain the anti-rollback software.  Hopefully ZVC is the official 4.4 KK update build.

  5. Just got the G2 to replace my single band S4, is it worth rooting if KK is releasing soon?

I've read that rooting is not as straightforward on the G2 as it is on other devices.

Wrong!!! Whereever you read that source, I believe you should stop reading those forums for future reference.  Rooting on the LG G2 is really easy.  Just run the .bat file and follow the instructions.

  6. be careful of future OTA's if you wanna keep the device "open"

LG has been testing implementing anti-rollback(used on vzw/att gs4 etc) and since all the 4.4.2 bootloaders remove the ability to use loki.... you'd be stuck with root only at best.

not saying anti-rollback WILL be implemented in the ZVC update for sure.. but don't jump without having someone else confirm it first(unless you dont want custom roms/recovery of course).

Have the LG G2 ATT and Tmobile 4.4 KK update versions included the anti-rollback software?

  7. I would like to see them fix the auto brightness at 100% I like when outside for it to be bright. Other than that bring on KitKat. And like Tranziq I check my site multiple times a day too.

OMG yes!!! That auto brightness bug not working is really annoying.  I for one would love to see it fixed in the KK update.  Also can't figure out if the Spark update radio was better or worse than it was with ZV8.  Either way any improvements in radio if possible will be welcomed.

  8. I have and this was the end result.

Please don't copy the entire thing to preserve forum space.  I would edit your post and delete the contents or AJ will :P . Yes just do a Ctrl+F on your browser and search for "ZVB" and you will see that it is still the latest version.  This makes sense since the current firmware version for the Spark update is ZVA.

  9. I didn't type anything, all I did was click on the link which is highlighted in blue like all links are and it took me to that Forbidden site.

You need to carefully reread my previous post. I said u had to add the /lg....etc to the end of the device.sprintpcs.com address

  10. The link to the " device.sprintpcs.com " won't allow access, says Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Wow...I didnt think u would literally type that. I didnt post the entire link since I was lazy. U need to add /LG/LS980-SPRINT/LATEST.

  11. Maybe with Sprint taking so long getting the kitkat update we could see the 4k video, 120fps, and maybe knock code. It would be worth adding since its taking so long to push out.

I highly doubt it.  The KK update is done.  I think its just a matter of doing the internal QA process over at LG and Sprint which is stretching this OTA release.  Unless we see the "device.sprintpcs.com" website get updated with a later build other than ZVB, I doubt we will see any of these Knock Code features.  Typically LG makes the same feature firmware update baseline for all the carriers and tweaks it slightly for each carrier which not to mention each carrier adding their own bloatware.  Since the AT&T and Tmobile KK firmware updates have been released, I don't expect the Sprint and Verizon KK updates to be that different.

  12. Finally had a chance to see the video.  I must say that it does give the average consumer a better sense of what Network Vision is all about and how Sprint plans to use its 800 and 2500 MHz spectrum for additional data capacity.  It dumbs it down so that the average consumer can understand it.  Now if only Sprint can start sending this video message out without hiding it on their Youtube channel so that more people understand.  But I still feel at the end of the day, people will always whine and complain and have that "what have you done for me lately" attitude which equates to ongoing slow data speeds and lack of LTE coverage.

  13. Here's a pic of an updated G2 from a tmobile consumer......( See link )

I understand how the process works.  I am just saying it is NOT the LG Support tool that is pushing out the update.  It is just someone who found the link to the LG servers for the Tmobile version.  You still have to use the LG Flash tool to flash the firmware update.   That article is based on this XDA thread:

  14. Looks like tmobiles G2 is pushing out KitKat Via LG Mobile Software Tool. ( See link ) This can only mean Sprints Kit Kat update is not too far since it's common knowledge verizon takes forever to push out updates......

I've tried to use that software but it doesn't recognize the device and the drop down menu doesn't include Sprints model to update drivers. There's seems to be no software from LG for Sprints G2 model. I miss that since I used Samsung kias to updated my previous S2 device and it worked wonders.

The firmware is NOT being pushed out via LG's Software Tool.  The links given are from the LG server to download the .kdz firmware files.  You need to use the LG's Software Flash Tool to flash the firmware.  The firmware is still not yet available for OTA update for Tmobile customers but rather prepping the servers to host the OTA update.

  15. i played with the flex today...its pretty nice....ohhhh has the split screen feature (not as many as a rooted note 2 but) which is one of the features i really liked....  does the g2 have this???  i didnt play with it enough to see...

i just dont know about the "curve" feeling...i love how my ballistic case has fit the sg3, and note 2...now they need to make one for the flex...

Yes the G2 can have the split screen feature by flashing a fix on TWRP.  Obviously this means you have to be rooted. Essentially what the folks on XDA did was extract and ported the files awhile ago from the korean LG G Flex and tweaked it to work with the G2.

  16. Yeah, they will announce the device on the 25th but they should definitely find a way to release it before the gs5 is available.  Its bad enough that most people think that samsung dropped the ball on the gs5 and to make it worse its not releasing for another month and a half after it became official.  This is a huge opportunity for htc and I hope they don't find some creative way to f it up.  Right now there seems to be a lot more hype for the m8, if this device can deliver with polished software and excellent hardware along with the camera working as intended then htc should be in the drivers seat.  They need to make a huge announcement, advertise it as best as they can and make sure that it comes to market while its still hot and being talked about which is within that two week window after its officially announced.  I really hope they have all their supply issues squared away unlike last year.

Agreed.  HTC must find a way to release the HTC M8 before the GS5 does and try to gain market share.  In a way I think it seems rather silly to assume that if a consumer was in the market and liked the GS5 but the the HTC M8 was released sooner by 2 weeks that the consumer would suddenly just drop their desire for the GS5 and pick up the HTC M8 or vice versa.  I know personally if I was in that situation where I really liked the GS5 phone and the wait was just another 2 weeks to a month than the HTC M8, I would just wait it out.  In addition, hopefully HTC finds a better way to implement the fingerprint sensor much better than they did with the HTC One MAX.

  17. Sounds awesome.  So if I recall correctly, the M8 will be announced and released March 25th?

Good luck on expecting the HTC One 2 to be released on March 25th.  I would guess minimum 2 weeks later.

  18. My understanding is this may be pushed back to Q2 due to issues intergrating easy pay into best buy and radio shacks systems.

Anyone that doesn't believe sprint is moving towards the end of subsidies should go into a store and try and find a 2 year price tag.

Interesting.  Those that want the GS5 and HTC One 2 will be in luck.  Get that one last subsidy price upgrade in before the change.  Also I wonder if Sprint is going to carry the LG G Pro 2 this time around.

You are correct, when I go to Sprint stores, I only see the Sprint Easy Pay prices and not the $199 subsidized prices.

  19. I posted this question yesterday but nobosy seemed to notice; Is there anything about the s5 "prime" that was mentioned in many articles prior to the unveiling. Has anything been seen or heard that would imply that it was only a false rumor or that maybe it will be announced later in the year...never.... maybe i should gfm....you know...

What the heck is a S5 prime?
