  1. -122 RSRP is a poor connection. You may be getting LTE from a distant site. So you are right on the threshold to acquire LTE but keeping it is another story.

Like CAREND suggested, a donation to this site will get you access to the NV completed sites map and you will then be able to check what sites around you are upgraded.

  2. A user over at MacRumors supposably had a chance to play with the Note 3 and HTC One Max... Will provide updates and see if it is true. He mentioned it being longer than the Galaxy Note 3 and quite a bit heavier.

However, he said the back was able to open? And I inquired about a square sensor on the back he was not sure about and is investigating further tonight!

One of the rumors I read about the HTC One Max mentioned SD card support (and they would defintely need to do it if it comes with just 16GB storage). So there would need to be a removable back.

Just googled around and came across this. http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/purported-images-of-htc-one-max-dual-sim-with-fingerprint-scanner-appear-online-411760

  3. Thanks, that was really helpful!  About a month ago, I saw digging and all kinds of orange conduit all over the ground near where I know there's a fiber line.  A few days later, I was roaming for about a day and a half, and then it came back on and I was getting the 1.5+ speeds.  Then two weeks later was when it slowed down again, and has been ever since.  So, that's why I assumed that there was new backhaul in place.  I don't know how many T1's there are.

What should 3G speeds be like that have new backhaul installed?  >2.0 Mbps and up?  Sites that I assumed had new fiber backaul, I've seen get between 1.5 and 1.8 Mpbs...including a site that's now 3G/4G accepted and broadcasts LTE.

If crews dug lines and ran new fiber lines, what's the hold up in connecting them?  When I saw the digging, I saw crews working at the site for at least 2 days.  They were at the base, though, not near where the digging occurred.  I don't know if they were inside the fence, though, or not.

On an unburdened site with NV and new backhaul you should see as high as 2.5mbps and low ping.

Around my area with 3G/4G upgraded sites I see anywhere from 1 to 1.75 in the day with good pings.

  4. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with this issue. It's soooo much worse than my LG OG, and even my GNEX which I thought had bad rf issues.Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4

I'm honestly not surprised. At this point I'm ready just to get something else just because of the RF issues. The One is definitely improved from the EVO LTE but honestly that didn't take much. I don't know if this is actually a design issue with HTC phones in general or what. I feel the radio is maybe a little to responsive in to the fact of reporting RSRP values. My One is always fluctuating when just sitting where as my wife's GS3 will maybe go up or down 1.

I do love how my HTC One feels and I do love Sense but just the RF performance frustrates me. I think I'm ready to give something Samsung a try. After hearing about the Note 2 performance I think I'm going to give the Note 3 a try. Especially if it's triband.

  5. I didn't do half bad for being drunk but yes it has been thrown a few times. I had an old Samsung flip phone threw halfway across Walmart once and it was still kicking. I dropped that thing within 5 minutes of turning it on the first time. It took a week to drop my one for the first time so I'm getting better.

What PRL do you have? If it is the latest one you already have support for CDMA 1X 800.

  7. Nevermind, I got to it and yes it worked. Hopefully this fixes the problem!

    Good deal!

If you ever want to ever check the radio version number without booting into bootloader, you can see it at Settings > About > Software Information > More > Baseband Version

Let me know your results. I've had a lot better experience on the original radio.
