Is the UL and DL channels right though?
Ohh crap. Must be a mistake then. I couldn't remember if Moto X was tri band or not.

I've been waiting to see some real world performance with the Nexus 5. Reading all this just might make me go out and pick this thing up. My last several phones have been HTC so I think I'm ready for a change.
Thanks to everybody for contributing their experiences.

They should probably put an asterisk next to 90 days and say "90 day time frame is not applicable to Verizon".

Verizon hasn't even released the 4.3 update for the One.

Was using signal check today and noticed my 1x was through a Verizon tower while the 3g was through a sprint tower. I didn't realize this could happen.
Also, what is eHrpd?

Like the other have said, you were connected to Verizon 1x and Sprint eHRPD.
eHRPD stands for Enhanced High Rate Packet Data. What it basically does is allow for seamless data transmissions from EV-DO to LTE and vice versa.

According to android central, you can unlock the one max with your nipples! Amazing! What will HTC think of next??

So is it Triband or not? Lol
From the HTC Website, yes.
-
PhoneArena's video review is the Sprint variant. Bars represent LTE signal. And Sprint changed the 3G and 4G logo on their devices. It is now custom. Hopefully it doesn't make software updates take longer.
You're worried about the changing of the 3G and 4G logos causing updates to take longer?

Those specs might be suspect. Why release the HTC One with 802.11ac but not on the One Max?

I'm leaning toward this being my next device. Hopefully it will come out soon. I'm babying my Sprint roaming data here in South Dakota to keep from getting the port out letter until I can get the device I want. Fortunately I have a VZW hotspot and an ATT phone with hotspot that I can offload my Sprint data to for the time being. I want the Max!

I was hoping the Note 3 would of been Triband as I was ready to give Samsung a try. Hopefully the stars align just right and the One Max is Triband LTE and Snapdragon 800.

Wow Verizon just had to plaster its logo over the HTC logo on the front screen. Sheesh the need for Verizon to brand its stuff is ridiculous.

Now we just need a leak pointing to triband LTE :-)

They have the One Max in hand and didn't turn it on to see what processor it has?

Anybody having an issue with the "WiFi network Available" notification. I go in to Advanced WiFi settings and it is off but I still get notifications. If I check mark it to be on, exit out and get back in, it is now unchecked but still get notifications.

In AOSP roms you have to do that in order to access the Developer options. I don't know if they are present by default in our new Sense build OR if you did it once and now it's just telling you there is nothing else to do. Someone take a look and see if you can see the Developer menu with debugging and those goodies. If not, try the easter egg and then look again.
*I haven't flashed yet or I'd have a straight answer.
Ahhh that makes sense. Just looking under settings now and I see the Developer options.
-
Has any one figured out the Easter Egg under Software Infomation > More? You can click on Build Number and I tapped it a couple of times and it counted down from like 5 to 1. Now every time I tap it, it says "No need, you are already a developer".

Any of you that are noticing this with the bars, are you running OMJs ROM right now? I'm wondering if the Qualcom Location service FC'ing is the culprit.
Also people who are stock let me know your results if you are able to replicate.

I think they have changed the signal bars to actually reflect eHRPD or LTE.
For instance, I'm sitting in my basement with 1 bar with a -86 1xRTT signal and a -112 LTE signal.
If i get my One to lose LTE signal and drop back to eHRPD, i've got 4 or 5 bars with a -86 eHRPD signal.
Anybody else notice this?

Just an FYI with anybody S-OFF'd and custom ROM. If you are still running TWRP 2.5.0.0 (like I was), once you flash the firmware zip with fastboot containing everything but HBOOT, Recovery, and Boot, you will run into a unresponsive touchscreen. There is a new touchscreen update in the firmware. After flashing the firmware zip I rebooted back into bootloader to get into to recovery to flash OMJ's stock rooted. TWRP was unresponsive so I had to hold down power and vol down to get out of it. Booted system and it was unresponsive too. Had to again hold power and vol down til it quit flashing the home and back lights, let off and hold again to get back into bootloader. Downloaded TWRP 2.6.3.0, zipped it up and flashed through flashboot. Got back to recovery and now responsive.
tl;dr
Update TWRP before flashing firmware zip and ROM.

As soon as there is a custom ROM out I will be flashing the firmware package and then updating the ROM. Right now I'm on the original radio as it worked better for me than the 2nd radio released.

I don't have the One Max but wasn't impressed with it when I got to use it in the Sprint store today. It was on par with my One holding a -100 to -105 signal but having the Nexus 5 right next to me holding a -90 signal has got my ready to pull the trigger and buy a nexus 5 online. Of course my brief couple of minutes testing connectivity doesn't really amount to much but thought it was note worthy with its comparison to my One and Nexus 5.
The One Max is a big phone but wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be.
