  1. Did he say whether the rollout included getting rid of the normal contracts/subsidies or offering Framily in addition to them? And since you are meeting with him Sunday, can I assume that the existing contract/subsidies are still going to be in force for the week starting this Sunday? (Assuming they would tell you about it before surprise it changes now).

From the short conversation I had it appears that signing a 2 year contract will continue to be an option. Switch to Framily, sign 2 year contract, get 2 year subsidized price, pay $15 fee or switch to Framily, sign up for Easy Pay do not pay $15 fee.

This is not final info, just the little bit I was able to gather in our quick conversation.

  3. I highly recommend the N5 if you have the moto x. It's the big brother to the moto just without touchless assist.

Also without Active Notifications, trusted bluetooth, Moto Assist, great battery life, and the amazing ergonomics.

All that bring said, I really enjoy my Nexus 5.

  4. It was march 14th with a possibility of being pushed back to Q2 because of issues with national retailers systems and training. Multiple reps here in different channels and areas have heard this so i guess we will just have to wait and see.

I work for one of the national retailers and have heard the same things.

  5. I love the colors. Especially the blue. I hope the production devices look as good.

If it looks like the current One in blue it will look amazing.

  7. The final word from HTC is that the update cannot be downloaded OTA. Theyre going to make a simple manual download process to yet the update on the device.

Did they say that on Twitter?? I wonder why it's happening that way?

It was said in the HTC AMA on Reddit.

Sprint's EVO 4G LTE can't get 4.3 OTA, so HTC is trying something different http://www.androidcentral.com/sprints-evo-4g-lte-cant-get-43-ota-so-htc-trying-something-different

Use quick memo. It is built into all LG phones.

  9. so all lte bands work? Tri?

Kind of. The Nexus 5 has not received the "Spark" update from Google/Sprint yet. If you acquire your MSL # you are able to manually activate the other bands. Users have had mixed results with this method.

But yes, the 16/32/black/red/white Nexus 5 from the Play Store are all Sprint approved and capable devices. They are all created equal and all run the exact same software with the exact same hardware (other than color and storage size). The only Nexus 5 that can not currently be activated on Sprint is a handset bought from T-Mobile. T-Mobile handsets have not had the ESN added to the Sprint ESN whitelist.

  10. Thanks for the reply. A couple of questions for you. I had a nexus s 4g and it had wimax. I got decent 4G in Indy, and sensorly shows Indy as having wimax. Shouldn't that mean we'd get band 41 as well? Also, when you say 'very soon' for Band 26, do you know something I don't? I have a nexus 5 and want the full Spark experience, but at this point just need the 800 mhz LTE for building penetration. My signal check pro app shows that I have excellent 800 signal at my work desk.

The Wimax in Indianapolis is from protection sites. These were deployed to provide the minimum amount of service to preserve the license for this area. Those are not to be confused with an actual Wimax network. There are only a few Wimax sites in Indianapolis.

  11. When is spark coming to Indy? We were one if the first LTE sits and almost all of or towers are upgraded.

Depends on what you mean by Spark. Spark capable devices are able to connect to LTE on bands 25, 26, and 41. Band 25 is currently live. Band 26 will be live very soon. Band 41 (the "fast" Spark band) will be further into the future.

Band 41 is currently being deployed in existing Wimax markets. Indianapolis was not a Wimax market, so we are further down the list for band 41 awesomeness.

If you own a triband device, you will benefit greatly from band 26 as it will be less burdened at launch due to many less triband devices on the market.

  12. The way that I have been told to do it at my store is if you have tep write a ticket and then replace the sim under your insurance. Without tep it costs 75. Technically it is a part that we're using to fix a problem so without insurance it's like repairing a broken earpiece or something to that extent.

I personally don't understand why it's that way but the logic is there I suppose.

That is completely wrong, and does not follow the Sprint guidelines. Someone in the store just made that shit up. That is nowhere near the correct procedure. Memo regarding the Red Nexus launch reaffirms the proper procedure.

  13. So to be clear, does anyone know if a recent purchased G2 is being shipped with the ZVA update?

Unlikely right now. Given the rumored slow sales of the device it is unlikely that there have been any new phones containing the update in stores yet. I could be wrong.

  14. The only reason that I want to root is to wirelessly tether.Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Wireless tethering is easily available by contacting Sprint and adding it to your account. No rooting needed.
