  1. Yes, they're both GSM. It probably would be smart of Sprint just to strike an Open World agreement with TelCell and/or Chippie. While St. Maarten isn't the biggest tourist destination in the Caribbean, I have to imagine that they get a number of customers that accidentally run up huge bills. The problem is exacerbated by the main airport and cruise port being on the Dutch side. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  2. I was just there in August. Before I left the Open World map showed the entire island as green so it was all covered and I was fine. I noticed when I got back that only the French side was still green and the Dutch side was changed to purple and thus subject to the regular (read:expensive) international rates. There's a few posts about it earlier in this thread. Even on the Dutch side you can sometimes pick up signal from Open World partners Digicel from the French side and Flow from wherever. I wouldn't count on that though. Unless you're 100% sure that you can exclusively lock your phone to Digicel or Flow I wouldn't chance it. If your phone roams onto Telcell or Chippie on the Dutch side you'll likely have a large bill waiting for you when you get home. Be careful. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  3. Currently relaxing in the Bahamas and wanted to take a moment to add a couple of Open World data points. BTC 4G is identified as HSPA or HSPA+ by SCP. Great Stirrup Cay, NCL's own little private island. BTC has one cell site set up there which probably gets hammered in the morning as the ship(s) pull into port. Nassau Roaming has been seamless. I received the Open World text from Sprint when I posted my phone up in the Bahamas and I didn't need to do anything else, it just worked. I suspect that Sprint and/or BTC throttles user's download speeds while roaming, but the speeds are quite usable nonetheless. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  4. I'd have to imagine that international LTE roaming is a no at this time. HSPA is much more likely in my opinion. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  5. Yep, China is a pretty glaring omission. Hopefully they rectify that soon. It would seem like inking a deal with one or more carriers in China would be easier because of their participation in the Band 41 ecosystem like Sprint. Doesn't appear so. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  6. Sprint South for the winter as Sprint is offering Open World customers unlimited 'high speed' data in Mexico and the Caribbean until March 31, 2017. http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-south-this-winter-and-enjoy-the-gift-of-unlimited-high-speed-data-while-warming-up-in-mexico-and-the-caribbean.htm https://support.sprint.com/support/article/FAQs-about-Sprint-South/9df325f0-911b-494c-a183-4fb81c96d864?ECID=vanity:SprintSouth Destinations: Mexico, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Jamaica, Marie-Galante, Martinique, Montserrat, St Barthelemy, St Martin, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, and Turks & Caicos This comes at a convenient time for me as I'll be in the Bahamas in a little over a week! 7. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/7318-band-26-spectrum-auction-for-puerto-rico-and-the-virgin-islands/ AFAIK nobody ever found anything out and nothing was ever announced publicly about what the final resolution to this was.
  8. Yeah, it enabled for me yesterday. It took a couple of days after I updated the app. I haven't been able to test it out because unfortunately most of the people that I know with Sprint have iPhones and naturally use iMessage. It'd be nice if Apple baked RCS into iMessage, but of course they have no incentive to do so.
  9. Kinda odd that they don't have data for Sprint at Wrigley or for the victory parade at Grant Park.
  10. Nice! Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  11. https://support.sprint.com/support/international/roaming?INTNAV=ATG:HE:SPT:INTL_TRAV Just type in where you're going and it should show you a map of that area.
  12. I doubt that they'd offer unlimited 512 kbps. I could see 384 kbps, that would be quite nice and best the competition. Yep, I generally prefer Open World. The data on Global Roaming is usable in a limited capacity. I'd just pay for Open World's higher speed data for more functionality. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  13. They would actually have to quadruple it to match the new T-Mobile's One+ 256 kbps international roaming speeds. Regardless, you should tweet that to Marcelo. Couldn't hurt.
  14. Yes, sir. Not too surprising for August, even the end of August. The forecast calls for a high of 105° today and we should have a few 100+ degree days in the beginning of September as well. But...it's a dry heat. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  15. I got some B26 action in front of my house which is down the street from the M Resort. It wasn't a speed demon, but it would do in a pinch. When i walked in my house, I switched back to B41. I also had B26 for less than a minute in my office at work in old Henderson. Hopefully things keep progressing along all over the valley. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  18. Fascinating. I certainly hope that all of this comes to fruition. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Not that I've seen. I imagine that it will be made well-known as the Halloween cutoff date approaches or hopefully much sooner. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
