  1. Oh! I didn't know that. Thanks lol.

Is there anyway to actually Sim unlock to get it to work on Tmobile?

    -Luis

You'll need to root and s-off the phone then you SuperCID the device. I think you'll only have access to voice services but I've never done it now have I researched it extensively.

  2. Has any one figured out the Easter Egg under Software Infomation > More? You can click on Build Number and I tapped it a couple of times and it counted down from like 5 to 1. Now every time I tap it, it says "No need, you are already a developer".

In AOSP roms you have to do that in order to access the Developer options. I don't know if they are present by default in our new Sense build OR if you did it once and now it's just telling you there is nothing else to do. Someone take a look and see if you can see the Developer menu with debugging and those goodies. If not, try the easter egg and then look again.

    *I haven't flashed yet or I'd have a straight answer. :)

  3. If I select Recovery from bootloader i get the HTC screen that says entering recovery but it doesnt load TeamWin...it just starts Android. So confused right now.

After you fastboot flash recovery recovery.img you need to reboot the phone completely once, so just do fastboot reboot.  Then boot into bootloader and then recovery.  If that still doesn't work, flash the recovery again and try again.

*This is why you don't take OTA's, you shouldn't have to deal with this madness.  Once you get the recovery figured out, I would suggest flashing a "Stock Rooted" version of the rom because will most likely continue with headaches from staying on the stock rom.

  4. I haven't done this stuff in forever, will that wipe my data? If so I'm just going to say screw it for now and deal with the new versions of the google apps.

No, not at all, let me put a small package together with ADB, the recovery and short instructions and I'll PM you the link to grab it. All you are going to have to do is boot into bootloader and execute 1 command to push recovery and 1 command to reboot.

Llig, look at your firmware version and tell me what it shows. I have a feeling that you are on the new firmware since you tool the OTA and I'll need to give you the latest recovery version.

*Also, I noticed you asked if you can do it without a cable.  Download Goomanager from the Playstore and open it.  I know you were having trouble with root so this may not work BUT if you do have root access, you can install TWRP by going into the app and "Install OpenRecoveryScript" and it'll download the latest for our phone and install it.

  5. And this is why I always take my time flashing any major release, thanks for the heads up bro.

It's only the firmware package (that is a separate flash/push), rom is fine BUT I hear ya. :)

Also, airplane mode toggle widget will not work with 4.3 and neither will LTE Discovery.

I have updated yet (finding it hard to let go) but LTE Discovery is working fine on 4.3 CM as he built in the toggle to work, just needs root access BUT he is working on the no root method which should be in a release soon. The new app is gonna blow you all's mind, for reals!

I am very confused right now....my phone is S-off and bootloader is unlocked but for some reason, after upgrading, i do not have root access.

Boot into recovery (you may have to flash/push TWRP again since you took the OTA) and then back to System and it should install the SU binary. You also might need to manually flash SU. These are things you normally would have to deal with if you flash the rooted stock version but taking the OTA update like you did may be causing you trouble.

  6. I get GCI and it is correct. I have not seen PCi.

Cool cool, thanks for reporting back. PCI is the actual LTE serving cell ID. For us HTC folks we get the GCI and not PCI but Samsung, LG and I believe iPhone get PCI and not GCI. There is a very nice patch on CM that gives us HTC One folks both.

Actually, if I am rooted and on a stock rom, will it unroot me?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think the update can/will even be applied because your bootloader is unlocked. The way it used to work is you had to oem lock first then you could apply. If you are NOT s-off, you'll have to do but that way if you want the updated radios. If you don't care about radios and aren't s-off, just flash the stock rooted rom once it's available.

  7. ##debug# still works. I hope the radios have improved but I don't be able to test that until tonight.

Do you have access to LTE right now and do you use SignalCheck Pro? If so, can you look at see if the GCI and PCI are both showing under the LTE data?

  8. I'm downloading the update right now, as we speak. Internet at work is REALLLLLLLY slow, so it'll take a while. But it's going!

    -Luis

Yeah, no downloading for us custom peeps, just waiting (as themuffinman said) for Viper or OMJ to rip it apart and post up. Hope it's not a garbage firmware package. :)

I REALLLLY hope we can see the PCI with this new base, I don't really want to leave CM which I get that data but I'll be on Sense for quite a bit, will have plenty of testing to do.

  9. Downloading right now!!!

Not as excited as I normally would be, but then again I haven't read anything regarding what the new update brings.

It seems Sprint is keeping it's trend of releasing updates sooner than everyone else. That's good!

    -Luis

I don't believe there is anything to download BUT I'm excited too.  Time to rebase d3rpONE Rom and do some fun stuff!  :tu:

    *Though I could be wrong.

Do you work for the site?

Nope BUT I contribute (not just take up space or lurk) monetarily and by supplying info on our markets progress. We all should "work" for the site to make it better and if you aren't taking time out to actually look at towers and do all that (it's time consuming and fuel does cost) the least one could do to see the "nitty gritty" details and fruit of that labor, is donate just a little something to help "keep the lights on". It doesn't take much and I know that this place brings a whole lot of value.

I don't know what i can say, i donated 10 bucks to something that i'm interested in. I don't think theres anything secret about it other than maybe, that its a way to monetize the site. I ain't gonna argue man, we're getting LTE and i'd rather just be happy about that :)

Yup, it's getting good, real good. I located a couple more sites in progress (have all hardware in place) just today.

So are we not allowed to discus publicly available information on this site?

You can discuss any publicly available information that you want, but the info in the sponsor areas isn't publicly available and if you can find it, more power to ya.

Actually 2 sites but if anyone wants to get a better vantage point on the progress in Omaha and Lincoln, become a sponsor and join us.  There is LOTS of work going on in our markets. I actually spoke to not 1, but 2 "crews" at two different sites today as I was just driving by to see if anything was going on. :)

  12. I'm not talking about killers, I know they're useless, but I often times hold the home key down and stop tasks that way.  That seems to clear up a few lag issues in the interum.

I know what you mean, I am experiencing it also. Double tapping the home button to bring up the recent apps and swiping them up to "close" them.

Gotcha, ok, now on the same page. :)

Task Killers = Bad Bad Bad (they force close all processes tied to it and Android will be forced to start it again and decide if it should actually be stopped)

Removing from Recents = Good stuff (it just removes the background process and allows Android to decide if all associated tasks/processes should actually be killed off) \

  13. I reboot once a week or so.  The only issues i encounter though after a reboot is witht he input selection.  it defaults to htc sense everytime.

Don't forget about closing your programs.

Meh, let Android tend to your running (and background) apps, app killers are not needed and proven to do more harm than good (but no need to start a debate) but kill if you want, to each his/her own.

A quick reboot in the morning will keep things running nice.  :tu:

  14. Personally, I haven't had any performance issues whatsoever on my one.  I also have a habit of doing a reboot just about every morning just to keep things clear so that may help if you don't already do that.

Same here and I recommend this to every user that I support (which is a couple dozen folks  :) )

  15. That would be fun. I'll get out and get some information where I can, but I have 5 kids so usually my time after work is pretty well nonexistent. Also, I believe the towers have some overlap. How can I be sure I'm actually connected to the tower I think I am?

Since you are a sponsor, you can go here to see a post that I did last night of how to collect and report back http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/636-network-vision-site-map-nebraskaiowa-markets/page-64&do=findComment&comment=210968

It's fun and I know the "no free time" feel so I just pick out where I need to check and go on the way to/from work or taking the kids to school etc... :)

  16. Anything going on around 72nd and Ames. Me and my mom were at bakers are that intersection and neither of our phones were able to send texts, dial out or use the internet.

Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2

Not sure what exactly is going great on BUT someone else posted about not being able to send texts, dial or get data. Very strange.....

  17. So for the last month and a half they haven't been getting new sites online, which is what they're supposed to be doing. Great.

Hey Simple, you should donate, then come on over to the sponsors areas to view the detailed data and quit whining about your perception of work being done in here... Most people get the idea and have no remorse, trust and believe, about donating even a menial amount to gain access to the sponsor sections of this great resource.

If you don't "get it" at minimum, can you stop with the garbage posts among those that search for good information in here and haven't taken the plunge into sponsorship.

Please, Thank you and I hope you get it and come see what is actually happening not only here in Nebraska but across the network.  The number of NV upgrades that are made, confirmed and reported in a weeks time across the nation is quite honestly staggering to think about.

  18. I worry, REALLY worry, about LG's lack of software support.  The hardware is so, so tempting and being with HTC for so long, I'd like to try something different (just to see) BUT I would hate to get this kick a$$ device and then realize that once the lipstick wears off, I've been suckered!  :td:   HTC is usually a little slow with our updates and source code releases BUT they do it, we get it. From what I keep seeing, LG just puts the device out (this is in the past of course) and that is about it.

As heavily vested in the dev community as I am, I don't think I could deal with super stale software and lack of support from the OEM. Still going to keep an eye on this one but I won't be a release day guy on this (like I have been since the OG Evo for all the Sprint EVO/HTC flagship devices) one and will sit back and watch.  My One is great (just wish the cam had a bit more oomph to it), dev is going strong and we have a new software release in the chute right now so I'll be perfectly content for a good long while.  I just get jumpy around the 1yr mark and have to upgrade to a new device, call it, issues.

  19. I noticed when I am on WiFi my ONE will continuously drop and then reconnect to wifi.

Wifi everywhere? I have no such problems so I figure I better ask just to make sure you have ruled out your router as the culprit.

  20. I got that after one of the many drops this thing has been threw. Restarted and dropped many more times and it never came back.

So you saying dropping it is how to fixed it?

  21. Awesome idea the split screen totally forgot about that feature. Googled how to get split screen working.

You can do it if you have a Galaxy S3 or 4 as well as the Note 2. There may be other Sammy devices able to do it but these are the most popular.

*Weird that it doesn't work in the old version now. It used to, owellz. Update now, it's only 99c. :)
