The problem is who is looking at the map, some consider east of 72nd st north omaha.

Ah, yes, the "hood". I have had people tell me I live in the hood AND that it's North Omaha. I live across the street from St. Cecilia Cathedral and my children go to Dundee, "we so hood". Lol
*I went to North (class of 95), I know your "hood" very well and Zesto is the one and mfn only ice cream spot for me and my family.
LTE FOR ALL!!!

I wish I could some of that where I live, sadly I could see my part of town in omaha getting things last.

Keep in mind that, unless you're running the LTE Discovery app, running Sensorly can actually make it harder to find LTE. This is because Sensorly maintains an almost constant data connection, meaning the phone has less opportunities to scan for LTE.
I had tried to use the LTE Discovery app and unfortunately, it's just not reliable enough, very sad. It would stop running on its own etc... So I started poking around the Sensorly app when I was in some 1x coverage and noticed on the "Details" page of can see the data packages that need to be delivered and if the connection is "Idle" or "Sending". In the 1x coverage, I could see it toggling back and forth and hoped it would continue on its own (figured maybe they updated it or something) but it definitely did not.
Once I got to solid 3G I noticed that it was always sending, which, also was very visibly keeping the data connection 3G data up/down arrows solid on the phone (as you talked about). So I went into the "Parameters" menu and change the setting to only "Report to Server" when on wifi and BOOM! Data connection on the phone, while mapping was no longer balls to the wall open and sending, but it was relatively normal (based on 3G icon showing when it's connected/not connected).
When I got home, there were about 600 messages to send and it sent them on its own, without opening the app as I expected. So I don't know if this is new or old news but I did want to put this in here for others to see. Another bonus here is its LOADS less intrusive than the LTE Discovery app forcing airplane mode. I'd still be using it if it were reliable but it's not and I found what seems to be the settings combo in Sensorly to reliably scan/poll for LTE , not stay constantly connected to data AND deliver the data to them quick and easy.
*I may email the Sensorly folks to make sure I'm not missing something or screwing up the numbers but sending later but I think I should be good.
ETA: Oh, and after all that, I still didn't find any new LTE tonight. Lol

I was told it would be a referb, but when I received the device it was new not refurbished. The phone came in an envelope, no box.

New phones are usually in boxes IIRC. Not that it matters but was that the only reason you thought it was new?

Weird, my HTC logo is my menu button.I hope 4.2.2 does come out soon. It would be nice to have a menu button.

Ya...that is because you are rooted.
I'm stock.

With 53% signal strength, I'd say that is around normal. However, a measure in dBm RSRP would be better for us to equate. What is your friends signal with 20Mbps. He probably is using a fully deployed network. It's not in beta stage. If it is on and you can connect to it then it is upgraded. Your speedtest is dependent on the LTE signal strength which your bars do not show.
Download the SignalCheck app to see the real LTE signal strength in your status bar.
SignalCheck showed about 53% signal strength.. is 4-5mbps pretty average for sprint LTE? My friend has AT&T and he gets about 20mbps average
Robert from Note 2 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Since we're "kinda new" to this new fangled thing called LTE what does signal strength vs distance from tower look like? I understand being closer doesn't mean better but I'd just like to get an idea (if it's even known).
I hadn't seen anyone mention that particular app until today so I'm gonna add that to my LTE tools folder. Robert, is there a tool that measures dBm RSRP that you recommend?

Just as an update to what I found in Lincoln, there really isn't much more along I80. 56th exit and just a tad bit between there and 9th Street exit. I did Sensorly it though so nothing to add for now.

From my Sensorly mapping and LTE Discovery use the fringe is hwy 77 North and I80. If you look at these locations I just grabbed tonight, I got the LTE hits bit it was so weak it didn't even register on the phone network icon. That GPS location is right at the 56th street exit and there is nothing east of 77, at least not on 80.great job who ever is doing sensorly in lincoln. if someone has time, can you see how far east it will go?
I'll get more tomorrow night as I'll be driving back into town in should get some good details then as I'll be taking I80 all the way to hwy 77 south and into town. I may be able to grab the furthest West.

Word is (unofficial from Sprint) we should have 75 towers up by the end of August. If it didn't come from someone I know very very well and trust, I wouldn't belive it, but.... Sit back and watch some LTE magic happen for us, finally.
Sent from my HTC d3rpONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Would your very well trusted source happen to know anything about the hold up in central Iowa?
Doubt that but I'll ask anyway.
Tried remapping 2 areas today running sensorly LTE discovery together and still nothing, starting to think my phone is broken.
What phone do you have? I heard the EVO LTE has a crappy LTE radio.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I have a buddy with a Note 2 and Evo LTE and sadly enough, the Evo is hard pressed to get LTE in most of the places his Note does.
My HTC One has been great!

I live in this area so I'm going to hunt down the LTE today! I couldn't pick it up a couple days ago but started using Sensorly and LTE Discovery yesterday and together, they work great.Picked up 4g right on saddle creek and Cummings, only for a split second. I mapped it on sensorly.

Bellevue/Papillion have some great coverage already. My parents live off 72nd and Cornhusker and I was able to hold LTE from there, East to 275 and North on 275 all the way past L street. When I finally dropped signal, I had less than 250 3G points and the 360 4G in the screen shot.

I have drove past a couple of the sites listed on sensorly and did not pick up any 4g with sensorly running. I have the htc one, any ideas.
You can artificially force the phone to scan for LTE signal by putting the phone into airplane mode and then back on. I think the stock rom scans every 30min or something like that. Toggle airplane mode and it will scan for all networks.

Just been lurking and following but wanted to chime in and say how exciting it is to finally see things happening in our market! I'm sure I'm not the only one driving around just to find LTE but my kids are starting to worry about me.... They are 9, 6 and 3 and whenever I go a "different" way to get home or where ever we are going, they ask, "Dad, why are we going this way?" and I reply, "Just trying to pick up a signal in this area". Lol
Just think, the Softbank cash injection hasn't even started so we have got some HUGE possibilities coming, quickly, down the pike.

I just realized the one doesn't have the downloads app like the evo. What is odd is the downloads app is on the one x and not evo.
Huh?

I finally bit the bullet and though the HTC One, coming from the EVO lte. I love the phone so far. I don't miss the recent app at all. I haven't set up blinkfeed yet to see how I like it. I got a cruzerlite case but I will replace it soon with a commuter.
Double tap for Recent App (if you hadn't found that already) and s-off and root it and you'll have the option if using the HTC logo as a menu button and ditch the 3 dot menus.

I know this was covered at some point, does the one support svdo? I know once lte coverage is more concentrated it won't matter but for the time being at don't have lte in many places.
Thanks in advance.
Nope, not over 3G like the EVO LTE and S3. It'll still do it over wifi and LTE iirc.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. This method is for the One right? I'm still rocken the evo lte, or does this work for both devices?Yes, use this method >>Revone s-off
Sent from my HTC d3rpONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Sorry man, this is a One thread and there is stock goodies for the One as well, didn't think you'd be talking about the LTE but go to xda in the LTE forums, I think there are 2 methods for W7 even though Unlimited.io dropped windows support. You could also try Linux from a USB drive, it works great.

Yes, use this method >>Revone s-offI only have windows 7 computers. Any hints for me to do it? I'm running twrp with stock with goodies ROM.

My evo is rooted with s-on. I couldn't figure out how to do it haha.
All the Evo's were easy. The One, is easier than easy, really simple. I think I s-off'd 18 EVO LTE's, lots of Panda and Racun fed. I did one over Desktop for Chrome for a buddy.

It'll be a relatively easy port for us CDMA users, to use. There are already GSM roms made to work on our Sprint devices.
Shouldn't need s-off at all but I don't see why anyone that can root their device doesn't s-off. You don't even need a computer to us the Revone method.

What do you guys think the chances are Google/HTC releasing software to turn the Sprint HTC One into a "Google Edition" without the need to root?
Slim to none but why not root?
