that's pretty sweet... What's your experience been like with the radios? any signal issues (other than lousy at work)? How does signal compare to previous devices? Any signs of some of the other issues I've read about (overheating, flickering display, poor data connection)? Lastly - are you running stock or rooted/custom ROM?

hilarious that they talk about the Atrix2's "monster 4.3" qHD" display... monster compared to what? the V550? Nothing like pimping up your old gen display tech!

the wait is killing me Robert....i wanna snag one of these 2 superphones this weekend....need that comparison from somebody who doesn't just say Screen is awesome touchwiz is cool but laggy i don't like (or I like) the home button like we see on most other sites. your comparison of signal quality in various environments will be huge push for me...

i'm guessing with the popularity of his 3D Roms for GB and ICS that he'll continue to support them and the user community is also outstanding. Personally, I'm happy with the latest version so the only thing I can think of is he'll make at least one more run when ICS officially hits Sprint before shifting all his focus to the LTE.

meh, there are some fully functional ICS ROMS out there for the 3D based of the Virgin ICS package...I'm running MeanICS 2.4 right now and it's great.

absolutely waiting for the "radio" report comparison between gs3 and evolte...if the sammy radios are improved then it's another nudge (2gb ram, removeable battery being the others) away from the LTE...

BTW... iPhone - 2007 LG Prada - 2006 HP iPAQ H6310 - 2004 (and IIRC many of the devices in the iPAQ lineup were actually OEM'd by HTC) Ericsson R380 - 2000 (and many more between ... dell Axim, HP Jornada, O2's XDA (from HTC)) I'd say Apply clearly "borrowed" technology from HTC and others for a touchscreen smart phone.

The few guys I deal with at the local franchise store have always been up to speed and knowledgeable. In fact, most of them are on rooted phones themselves (except that poor bastard with a Photon). I was upgrading the wife/kids phones and was in the process of flashing a new ROM on my EVO, the sales guy looks over and asks what recovery I was using ! They also have a little easier time with discounts and rebates and such - the system didn't want to give me the $50 rebate because I was adding a new line but moving the phone for that line to an existing line - a few clicks and voila - rebate allowed. That's never happened to me at the corporate stores...In fact, I walked into a brand new, completely empty (except for employees) store, wandered over to the EVO LTE and started playing with it, downloading apps, running some benchmarks side by side with my 3D, streamed some tunes and not once in the half hour i was messing with it did anyone even approach me to ask if I had a question or to gauge my interest or whether I wanted to buy one....disappointing really.

My bad...it was the iPad3 new iPad or whatever those evil bastards are calling it these days. it was a stunning display and the VZW speed was cookin.

I just donated to see if I have to put up with this same crap for much longer. Sprint maps say I get 4G "on street" at my home...I don't even get 3G, in fact, in need the Airvana to even make a call or send a text. Without WIFI, I'd be switched to VZW by now unlimited be damned. I can barely get Sprint signals at my kids' schools let alone the 4G that's currently claimed. unfortunately, i live in an LTE dead zone for VZW as well it seems...not an issue at home with WIFI, but VZW LTE is all over where I live and work and spend 90% of my time and damn it's fast (at least on my friend's iPad2).

Yep...but do it while whipping the dog with an iPhone cable BTW, isn't Samsung the one making fun of the iPhone people for waiting in line in their own commercials? Is it subliminal envy that they'd love to have people lined up for their phones too??

good thing I've got a working ICS ROM on my 3D...I can hold out as long as necessary. I think they should investigate the people approving these patent claims of Apple's....they should be forced to recuse themselves if they own an iphone (or an android phone for that matter) and only those with BBs or non-smartphones should be allowed to review patent filings for all things smartphone.

i agree...i was merely commenting on the "no way" of knowing if a phone has been rooted. I also frequent a store where the reps are mostly rooted. Saw CM on one guys phone, and many months back while I was buying my kids phones I was comparing a Mikrom on his EVO vs the one I was running on my 3D...

"no way of proving" ?? That seems a lame - you mean to tell me when the tech powers on and Skating Andy bootscreen hits they can't tell? Or if it's on they can't look at the About Phone info and tell?

I have this same unit and get the same issues with multiple texts going out. I also notice that the GPS often drops the signal and takes forever and a day to reconnect, making it useless during that time. It's very frustrating and I'm certainly also hoping the NV upgrades will improve my connections at home, either directly or via this Airvana unit.
