  1. After 8 beers and half a pizza you would expect that I would be able to sleep. NAHHH

  2. Nope, the closest tower to universal is about a half mile away from property, and I don't believe it has NV upgrades. I can attest to not so great service there.. Hopefully soon the site will be upgraded, preferably to a high capacity one.
  3. There's a Clear site on top of the Radison which is co-located with a Sprint legacy site. It looks like the antennas that are the highest with RRU's are for Clear, and the smaller skinnier ones on the base of the roof are the Sprint legacy. It was either that one or another stand alone Clear tower at Colonial and 408 that I was connecting to. There's no way (that I know of) to narrow down what site is your phone is receiving LTE from. But those two sites would be my guesses for the B41 connection.
  4. Did the PRL trick and caught B41 here in Orlando. Had an outstanding connection for the last 3 hours until I got back to my apartment where it dropped off (completely concrete structure). I'm very impressed with the speeds I'm getting and signal strength. Even stayed connected with a -105ish rsrp connection deep inside the UCF library. (there are 3 clear sites on campus, I would expect at least that) Much improved from my B25 experience around here, which is, sorry to say, pretty abysmal.
  5. So if any of you have a N5 I was able to change band priorities and do a PRL update right after to connect to B41. Haven't disconnected from it yet, its been 2 hours and I've been driving around too. Pretty decent speed tests, hit 70mbps but ended up at 67mbps at one point.
  6. Lied about the speeds on B41. Had one test hit 70mbps and end up at 67mbps!! I'm getting my car detailed right now so when I get home I'll post the screen shots asap
  7. Is there a way to log in to tapatalk via twitter? That's how I do it on my computer and tapatalk isn't recognizing me
  8. Currently connected to band 41 on my Nexus 5 on the UCF campus. Speed tests aren't as impressive as I had hoped (20mbps) but nonetheless I'm STOKED. screen shots to come..
  9. I'm able to connect to band 41 in Orlando as well, did the band priority selection and PRL update thing. SUCCESS. I'll post screen shots later this afternoon
  10. Obama can't make progress without congress. Too bad they're opposites #SOTU

  11. Probably the first time this semester I've gotten a chance to just sit in the grass and enjoy campus.… http://t.co/5OrmL0Gzlk

  12. I agree.. Most people don't have a resume like mine, or know what I've done to get where I am. Sure I've got some blotches on my transcript, but those where because of external factors that where more important to focus my energy on at the time. Compare that to a kid who's never left campus all 4 years and had everything paid for by mommy and daddy. That's definitely not me.
  13. Major is Economics, minor in statistics. GPA is 3.2 and I've worked at an HR consulting firm part time for the last year. As for experience with network related stuff, basically just being an active member on here for the last 6 months and doing my own reading on LTE technology.
  14. So I just applied for this position.. Since I'm not engineering I think it will be a long shot but I know some people on here may be interested in something like this so I thought I would post about it. I feel like the majority of us on here could do very well in this position. Link -> http://www.sprint.jobs/job/Overland-Park-LTE-Network-Design-Intern-KS-Job-KS-66062/36909700/
  15. I want to be a kid again so bad. I just feel like i'm "pretending" to be a grown-up and it sucks! :(

  16. Never got the text, probably because my phone has a Chicago number and that's where my dad lives who has the account. Buuuut yeah the 2 towers on campus are not complete. And I'm aware of 1 other on colonial and alafaya that hasn't been upgraded. Still not holding my breath..
  17. Way too many traffic lights on campus. And they all turn red in the most inefficient way

  18. Bring in more T1 backhaul. They have been known to have done this at legacy sites, even during NV deployment. Of course if it is constrained spectrum causing the capacity issues, then that's a whole different ball game...
  19. Going to my 9 am class my speed test on 3G will be around 2.2 down 1.2 up. After the class is out, my test is then .15 down and .05 up. That's off a legacy tower too. 2 towers on UCF campus, only one of them has NV (but not accepted yet) and the other is legacy. It blowsss
  20. I'm not in the Jax area but in Orlando I've been noticing my phone will connect to eHRPD but once it attempts to use data it will cycle back and fourth and end up on EVDO. For example, on multiple occasions I've seen the network strength indicator flash like it's trying to connect but immediately gets disconnected and then attempts to connect again. After 10 seconds or so of attempting to connect to eHRPD my phone will park itself on EVDO, or if I'm in a weak signal area, 1x. I'm HOPING they're upgrading the software so they can deploy 800. We desperately need it around here, especially around UCF.
  21. I just noticed that my LTE signal has improved dramatically in my office in Research Park- It was like this right after the tower just north of my building was accepted. About a week after it was accepted the signal strength decreased significantly to the point of not being able to stay connected. My LTE signal strength now is that of what it was right after the acceptance, which is very good. Does anyone think this could have been because of a downtilt tweak or something else? That's the only tower within 3 miles that has been accepted, so they must have done something to it but I can't figure out what.
  22. If Sprint bids for 600Mhz spectrum and is successful, I feel like this would be a prime opportunity to begin a rural deployment of its wireless services. Even adding 800Mhz voice and LTE to all Wimax protection sites would substantially give Sprint a larger service area as well.
