  1. My G2 has been shutting off randomly, and I can't get it to turn back on unless I connect it to a charger... Anyone else have/had this problem?

  2. Any b26 action in the NW burbs? I know there is a cluster launched in the Algonquin area but has anyone seen additional coverage areas with B26? Specifically along NW Highway from Palatine to CL or in the Lincolnshire area?

  3. I've been meaning to flash the 513 PRL to try and see if I can latch on to some 1x800, but I've been so damn busy and like Jamison, I have an insane final exam tomorrow and 4 more to study for. I'm probably going to die before I even get to graduate next friday

  4. 3G acceptances have been ramping up in the Miami market....still pretty slow here in the Orlando market...

I was thinking that tower could be getting 3G accepted, because it is still in purple status. I noticed in the stairwell at work that signal check indicated I was connected to eHRPD only (no 1x). Usually its the other way around so maybe they are ramping up 3G on the NV equipment, hence the stronger than usual eHRPD signal. Just a thought.

  5. What device were you using at the time? If it is B26, it might be kicking you off LTE do to CSFB issues occurring when B26 is first brought online. Forcing your phone into LTE Only can help identify if that is happening.

I was on my LG G2. Usually when I leave work I'm on B25 for the first mile and then it switches to B41 the rest of the way home. Today I was on 3G when I left the office and my phone latched to B41 about half a mile sooner than it usually does.

  6. If it's any good indication, lately at work at Universal my iPhone has put itself into extended 3G mode more often than not. It, to my knowledge, as only ever done this once before, which was the few weeks they were working on the towers by my house. So could be a good sign.

And since I work at Blutos, I imagine the closest tower to me would be the one on the hotel rooftop across from cabana bay. If that's the case, I hope that this means LTE will soon be at universal. But only time will tell.

Also drove by there the other evening and got a good(as in better than before) 3G signal/speed from the tower by the turnpike and kirkman. The wiring up to the antennas looks new so it possibly may be updated?

Service at Universal has been horrible for more than a year. I think the nearest tower was legacy up until lately but its not yet 4G accepted. Hopefully they are working on some sort of capacity fix for that area as one 4G tower world surely be not enough

  7. Well, uscc spectrum appears to have been just turned on in the south suburbs. I'm on it constantly. Speeds are incredible. First discovered at 127th and ridgeland in palos heights. So awesome. I'm at a bar 2 miles from where I discovered it. Still got it. Gci is 03. Is that normal?

This is awesome. With the additional USCC carrier(s?) deployed in addition to the B26 & B41 rollout I think Sprint will be well on its way to building the reputation we know they are capable of here in Chicago. I'm looking forward to the next root metrics report for Sprint that takes into account all the improvements they have been making this spring. Keep it up Sprint!!

  8. That brings up my next question. I wish we had some kind of official word from sprint on where they plan on deploying this spectrum. It doesn't make sense, although cheaper, to just pepper a market with a tower here and a tower there. Places where they've deemed "high capacity." It should be market wide, IMHO. Why don't you head over to our newly created Chicago premier thread and post the location/tower id (if you know it). I would like to check it out for myself this weekend.

I would post it if I was the one that found the second carrier lol. But I would think they are deploying it market wide, since the spectrum they purchased from uscc was for the entire chicago market. It probably is contingent on techs popping in those carrier cards for the second pcs carrier, much like the deployment for B26.

  9. This is so needed. With 2 reports in 2 days, I'm getting excited.

Very exciting indeed. It will be interesting to see if the second carrier is live in the Loop and in other dense areas

  10. is the second carrier a 10x10 or 5x5?

5x5, I believe. Many devices on the Sprint network cannot access a B25 10x10 FDD carrier

Edit: Actually I have no idea if they can or can't access a 10x10 carrier. What I meant to say is that Sprint does not have a 10x10 chunk of contiguous spectrum to deploy one in Chicago, at least from what i've heard

  11. Experienced what was probably overcrowding yesterday on colonial on that gigantic tower. Sub 3g speeds on LTE. B26, donde esta tu?

By Walmart? I got really good service over there the other day. Even stayed connected to LTE inside the store

Edit: Band 25 LTE, to be specific

  12. well...damn. I was under the interpretation that the icon only shows when connected to a spark site. Had I known that it appears regardless, I wouldn't have posted it.

Spark (B41) is in Orlando, we're just not a launched market yet. There are 3 active B41 towers on the UCF campus that I regularly connect to. Its pretty awesome.

  13. Orlando has quite a few 4g only sites. And I don't think I've seen a new site get accepted in a while.

Dude i think the contractors in Orlando are on vacation or something. There hasnt been any real substantial movement for us in a good month or so. SoFla seems like they are getting all the love nowadays with the acceptances

  14. First inaugural post on my G2. Got a helluva deal for it on amazon. Only paid 230 for slightly used and i'm quite impressed with the device already

  15. Does AT&T and Verizon even need any more lower frequency spectrum from a capacity/coverage standpoint? The only reason I can see them bidding on swaths of it would be to retain their market power so they may keep their advantage in coverage & propagation capabilities they already have with 700mhz.

I honestly don't think that the high amount of high frequency spectrum Sprint or any other smaller carrier currently has should have an impact on the 600mhz auction. It's not so much about capacity that is important with this auction- I feel it's more about long-term viability the spectrum can provide smaller carriers.

  16. Factory reset, and change the language on the setup page

I'll give that a shot. Is there a button I have to push with a paperclip?

  17. I had the same problem using My Tracks the other night. I went to Wi-Fi advanced options and disabled scanning always on.

I checked and I already have that option disabled. I downloaded a GPS toolbox app and I saw whether or not it could get a fix on satellites. 80 percent of the time it is unable to do so, and when it does its only 4 or 5 and when I start moving it loses the fixes. Hopefully this supposed update this week fixes this as well. ughh
