  1. So I feel like my phone tends to prefer to sit on 3G when I'm driving on the highway.. I drove from Orlando to Daytona and noticed it sat on 3G 90 percent of the time. On the way back, I set it to LTE only and never went below -113 dBm. Could it be CSFB issues or just B25 being more fragile at highway speeds? It was annoying because I couldn't stream when I was on 3G half the time. Aahhrg

  2. New FCC document posted regarding 800 and rebanding.

    http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2014/db0306/DA-14-306A1.pdf

Here's the companies/governments dragging their feet on their 800 rebanding efforts out west:

    Region 3 (Arizona)

Arizona Public Service Company (Mar. 21, 2014)

City of Tucson (Apr. 21, 2014)

City of Mesa (Mar. 21, 2014)

City of Phoenix (Mar. 21, 2014)

City of Yuma (Apr. 11, 2014)

Gila River Indian Community (May 5, 2014)

    Henry Zappia (May 30, 2014)

    Region 5 (Southern California)

City of Los Angeles (Apr. 7, 2014)

Coachella Valley Water District (Mar. 31, 2014)

Eastern Riverside County Interoperable Communications Authority (ERICA) (May 16, 2014)

San Diego Gas and Electric Company (May 9, 2014)

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (March 14, 2014)

Region 50 (Texas - El Paso Area)

City of El Paso (Mar. 31, 2014)

Region 53 (Southern Texas - San Antonio Area)

American Electric Power Service Company (Mar. 29, 2014)

City of Brownsville (May 11, 2014)

City of Harlingen (May 2, 2014)

City of Laredo (Apr. 21, 2014)

City of McAllen (May 26, 2104)

City of Rio Grande City (Mar. 14, 2014)

County of Cameron (May. 31, 2014)

County of Hidalgo (May 19, 2014)

Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (Apr. 7, 2014)

So does that mean the issues in south Florida have been resolved? Or do we not have word on that just yet?

  3. Hey you gotta do what you gotta do. I am still with sprint because of the pricing, the fact that I am in a family plan, and my hopes for b26. And eventually b41 which I know Orlando is going to be flooded with. There are still 2 weeks left of this month. I got time to wait. IT would be awesome if there was a launch before my birthday in april. A nerd gift to myself.

My birthday is next week- I'm also hoping for a massive B26 acceptance AND a Nexus 5 Spark update for my nerd gift.  :fingers:

  4. i know. It was either here or in the le premier sponsor thread but I was wondering if anyone else in orlando had experienced the same issues with brighthouse.

One of my coworkers had the same problem with brighthouse, he had techs come out and everything. Still no improvement. Maybe CenturyLink has fiber thru their Prism service in your area? Not too sure how fast they are but I know its better than DSL

  5. I took a trip to KC(both sides of the border) a few weeks ago and I had by far the best cellular experience I've ever had. I had usable LTE (usually over 12mbs down, but always at least in sprints advertised range) everywhere I went, excluding one cave that I went in. However I had almost 3mbs down on 3g, so it didnt impact me at all. The funny thing is that I just saw an acceptance report the other day that said they had over 400 acceptances, its hard to think of it getting any better O.O.

Edit: This was a pure b25 experience too, I didn't see any b41 or b26 on my n5(I have the bands enabled but we don't have the spark update yet).

This is how LTE is in Chicagoland. Its truely an amazing network when completed especially with 1x800 voice. I can't wait to see what LTE will be like when they deploy it in 800mhz. If I had to compare Orlando's coverage to Chicago, I would say as it stands now it is 5 times better hands down. The tri-band experience will truly a force to be reckoned with when fully deployed. I would estimate Orlando is only about 6 months behind where Chicago is now. 2014 will truly be the year for Sprint, especially in large-mid-sized markets like Orlando.

  6. I really hope these next 12 months are those month we've ALLLLL been waiting for. I want to see 2k+ site acceptances for B26 a month. I want b25 done already in all the areas it can be. Everywhere else just do what you have to do. B41 needs to become a plague. People need to start saying, wow! You're pages load so fast. Your videos are so HD, your voice is so clear. Such wow, such fast, so awe. And you're on Sprint? Who would've known ( except for that ugly spinning logo)

People have been waiting for Sprint to light the beacons of Spark. Break the dams, release the river of LTE!

  7. Don't judge potential B41 signal on your B25 signal. B41 from Clearwire sites have pretty good propagation. I'm actually very surprised by what I'm seeing. It's not nearly as bad as you think and in some places, I have more B41 signal than I do B25, despite having a closer B25 site. Regardless, a marginal B41 signal will usually yield a faster downlink than a decent B25 signal.

ehhhhh.. it could be better. There's a B41 site less than a quarter mile from my apartment building and it still drops off when I go inside. But I guess that's what I get by choosing to live in an all concrete structure. Positive= no hurricane penetration. Negative= poor TD-LTE signal propagation

  8. I just picked up 200 shares of $S, I have a good feeling about the merger talks tomorrow and the progress of NV going into the rest of the year. Also writing options, if any of ya'll are interested  :tu:

Anyone else holding any positions? I feel like Sprint could run up above $10 if the merger talks are positive and NV continues on schedule. Softbank/Son aren't playing any games here, they're in it to win it.

  9. You need to run .15

Then enable band 41 and set it as the priority before the prl trick works.

I'm running .23 and can connect just fine down in Orlando. Will .23 not allow B41 connections in Chicago?

  10. How you all doing up there in the cold, Chicago? Think your speeds and SNR values will start increasing with the temperature? I'm looking forward to coming back in May, hopefully to see an additional PCS LTE carrier and B26 LTE. Think this is a reasonable wish?

  11. Update on the site on the north side of UCF- They're beginning to install a bunch of equipment in the new shelter and have been doing a heck of a lot of digging around there. No indication that it is for Sprint however.. But I'm still hoping they will dust off those NV panels and RRU's that where installed back in August and fire that thing up by the end of the month so we can get decent B25 LTE around here. Even with 3 accepted B41 towers on campus I still lose LTE more than I would like when I go inside.  :fingers:

  12. The Spark update for me probably won't make much of a difference as well. As long as I do a PRL update after a reboot or signal reset my phone has no issues connecting to B41. I'm expecting the same when B26 comes around. However I'm not sure how it will be once I leave the Orlando Market as I wasn't able to connect at all in Chicago a few months ago (but that was before I knew about the PRL trick)

  13. I think Sprint really needs to revamp their marketing campaign once they reach that key 250 million pop number. With Network Vision nearing completion I definitely think they need to re-establish themselves in the market to change public perception of the company, which still is not very good. Most people have no idea what is going on within the NV program and a marketing campaign that features the kind of information shown in the above video will go along way in terms of convincing people that it is a reliable network built for the future.

  14. I know this isn't the exact flavor of 800 you asked about but Jacksonville thread reported LTE 800 in our market. I've used it but jumped back to LTE on 1900. That's off turn one of the Daytona International Speedway (Traffic nightmare again today.)

Ah yeah I heard that. I wish I could flash one of the sponsor PRL's to see if there is anything being tested. I just can't figure out for the life of me how to flash a custom PRL on the Nexus 5 without spending 3 hours doing it

  15. Speed tests for me on B25 have been lackluster the past few weeks. Been pulling 2.3 down and 2.0 up on average, even in good signal coverage areas with multiple accepted towers. I hope Sprint can deploy another 5x5 PCS carrier in Orlando, I'm beginning to think we are having capacity issues. But then again I know we're not a complete market yet! I just hope things get better before they get worse with just the single carrier deployed.

    Also,

Out of curiosity, have there been any 1x800 spotted out in the wild in this market? I saw it once about 8 months ago but since then, nothing..

  16. Unless someone else is using those same Powerwave antennas, I'd guess that's a Samsung high capacity NV site.

I hope so! For UCF being the 2nd largest university in the country with over 50k students, I would hope they would build a high capacity site there since it is basically smack dab in the middle of campus! However, this is an Ericcson market and I don't know how they build their high capacity sites. Plus there's no RRU's mounted up there for those antennas. I also walked past the base one day and noticed ATT base equipment that looked relatively new. I hope Sprint does have some NV equipment up there but is just waiting on something like a permit.
