  1. Sprint sure is dragging their feet on 5.1! I'm still on KXA21.12-L1.28.

Yes they sure are. For the exception of Sprint all the other carriers have received the OS update.

Not sure why the delay and silence from them. Even the reps on Sprint moto X community are hush hush. When someone ask in regards to this there's nothing but total silence. The one person that constantly answers completely changes direction on the subject at hand.

Sprint is the last of the Mohicans!

  2. Tmobile just posted this on there twitter page. Apparently they are the best wireless carrier of choice. Whoever this company is that tested, the article says they tested 6 cities so it's no surprise tmobile didn't get a worse score

    Heres the article

Wow, that was terrible and no surprise legere is running with it. They need all the help it can get even if it isn't legit. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

  3. http://www.newsweek.com/2015/09/25/tmobile-ceo-john-legere-torched-cellphone-industry-rules-372157.html

In this short profile, Legere is quoted as saying, among other things, that if T-Mobile can get more spectrum he'll amp up the competition even more. Just a tip John: stop complaining about lacking spectrum and pay up for it.

    Agreed.

The only problem is that the crackhead feels entitled and expects to be given not worked and paid for like the competitors.

  4. Im 100 percent sure that when i was looking into tmobiles plans a couple monthd back the unlimeted 4glte said "comes with 5gb of tethering" sounds like a usage limit to me

Sent from my SM-G925P using Tapatalk

    Conjecture!

    Facts not accusations.

Anyone can go over 5 gigabytes of data in the month in general with a smartphone and no hotspot or tethering required.

  5. In his defense he specifically stated that hes only going after the people who are illegally tethering. He said there are around 3000 people that are using around 2 TB of data a month on hotspot. 2 TB is a lot for anyone and also very illegal so of course he wants them off the network. No network wants that. Im not a tmobile follower in any sense but if ur gonna blast john legere like that at least be honest about what he said

    " In his defense "

    Didn't realize he needed defending!

Btw he did say if you have unlimited then use all you want and there was no exception or clauses that he mentioned.

Point is subscribers of the carrier found a loophole and he knows it and now he's on a rampage.

  6. Legere just finished a Periscope where he decided to rant about data abusers on his network. He vowed to take action against the idiot, loudmouth (the irony) data abusers who are screwing it up for everybody. Of course, he claims that the data abusers will try to hide behind net neutrality. Expect a blog from him tomorrow about it. Needless to say, I was rather amused.

    Haha!

    Backpedaling much are we.

PS. Would you have a link to this so called periscope, I like to see it.

  7. No. This just makes it easier for T-Mobile to set up roaming agreements with other carriers in the CCA.

    Roaming agreements!

In return for what. The pink carrier will need to give up something unless they believe they are getting something for nothing. You see what I'm getting at! Band 12 or an anything else can and would be put on the table as far as agreements go.

  8. Sprint turned on Spark in my area in mid-February (Alexandria, VA outside of Washington, DC). I am on Band 41. However, I am getting only about 5 mbs download speed and a tenth of that upload. That seems to be the same speed as un-Sparked Band 25. Has anyone else noticed this on the G2? Is there a way to increase the speed on the phone? Or do I have to wait for a network upgrade. In that case, I thought the network upgrade was Spark. Apparently not.

Band 41 Spark since Feb this year with speeds of 5Mbps dl is ridiculous. Recommend check with Sprint on that.

Spark in my area activated 2nd Quarter this fiscal year with speeds from 40-74 Mbps. Its been consistent.

  9. The fact that DT thought that Dish's stock was extremely over valued, and that they wanted more cash also contributed to stalling the talks.

Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

The more reason COMCAST is the choice for DT.

    • Again any transaction with the approval of DT for what its asking for will be the dismissal and replacement of the current ceo and management at tmobileus. The new owners, acquisitioners, will expect nothing less.

    Truth!

  10. Going back on topic, a lot of people are freaking out about the recent rumors about a Comcast/Charter merger with T-Mo. Lots of people threatening to leave in such a situation, I wonder what DT plans to do. Personally, a Dish merger makes most sense even though Dish sucks, only because Dish holds AWS that T-Mo could use. That PCS H block is never gonna be used, though.

It's more likely DT will go with COMCAST since its looking to unload not partner. Dish won't agree unless it's running the carrier although it needs to find a carrier to put its spectrum to use.

In the end what it comes down to is anyone who buys it will put its staff in place and legere & company are toast!

PS. The reason why talks stalled with Dish was directly due to the question of management in charge.

  11. Contemplate this, a new Sprint family plan of 4 can get the following:

    Guaranteed 4 - iPhone 6S Leases @ $15 each + 10 GB of Shared Data @ $100 = $160 a month.

Get 40 GB to share for $180.  This is before any kind of employer discount mind you, which I think still applies to the data portions of the plan.

At the end of the lease the buyout is only $200, at least it is for the iPhone 6 I'm currently leasing.

Aren't Sprint lease discounts just another type of subsidy?

Yes that's the thing I don't like about the new plans. The employer discount in the ED plans are deducted from the price plan itself versus the new plans its deducted from the data line itself. Huge difference. I'm not really sure whether they even do employer discount any more on the new plans!

The other major difference is on the new plans they can change anything in the plan without the risk of adverse material penalties whereas ED you could get ETF free.

Many many things to ponder on ED vs the new plans

  12. the question is do the 49% of people prefer 2 year contract subsidies or do they just fear change so they stick with what they know, i know many people who don't under stand lease or easy pay... so they stick with what they know ($200 phone on 2 year contract) not everyone follows this stuff as close as we all do.  Take my girlfriend for example she didn't understand lease at first, but when she pick up the iPhone and didn't have to pay a cent in the store and only $25/month for the phone she was very happy with the choice.  I think most people will be ok with the change, most view it as the phone used to cost $200, but now it is no down payment and $15-$30 per month (of couurse that varies wildly from phone to phone)

On Easy Pay and Lease Program I understand there's no down payment and a small additional monthly fee however doesn't the consumer have to pay taxes on the retail price of the device upfront sorta like a closing cost of a transaction.

At least that's what I understood, is this true or not.

  13. Per Marcelo on Twitter: "@marceloclaure: @HRozewski long Term Customers can choose any way they want to buy a phone, lease, subsidy or installment billing. We believe in choice"

Looks like us contract folks are grandfathered!

    All hail Marcelo!

Could you provide a link to that tweet.

  14. No, definitely not.  For the war chest required in the upcoming 600 MHz auction, a $17.5 million fine represents chump change.  That might not even be enough to win a 10 MHz block of spectrum in a podunk place like Tightwad, MO (yes, it actually exists).

If the 600 MHz auction actually happens to any degree, the total winning bids for the big four will run $10+ billion each.  T-Mobile would have to get hit with a $1+ billion fine to make any significant dent in its auction participation.

Granted it's a drop in the bucket but for a business that's being run like a non-profit organization it doesn't bold well.

  15. A Broken Record, that is now synonymous with tmobilus and legere

This could very be the nail in the coffin for tmobileus. In the past it has asked for handouts from the FCC and it accommodate them but now the pleas and cries are not receptive by Chairmen Wheeler of the FCC. It looks now the pink carrier has burnt bridges.

  16. Honestly I'm really surprised they've lasted this long in current form.

    Not really.

legere and company since taking over haven't technically stood on it's own two feet to make tmobileus profitable. In other words they've been living off the generosity of charitably contribution from AT&T by a way of major financial funds and spectrum.  Now that piggy bank has been frivolous spent on his pipe dream and asking for more charities from the FCC and anyone who will listen to it's cry's of sympathy. They haven't a clue on how to run a profitable business model in a nation that's build on capitalism. Heck the entire world runs on money and that's what keeps it revolving.  legere has sacrificed tmobileus to the wolves and literally offered it up in a silver platter. DT knows this and is in the wings waiting for that opportunity to cash in and cash in they will..

Look at the scenario.     It's subscribers have grown immensity but they are all low ballers meaning the company isn't a profitable business and more like a charity case who's subscribers believe everything should be given to them free. legere has done that and given what they want so yeah there's the wool being pulled over. That's a short term business model that has disaster written all over it from a business point of view. The so called uncarrier doesn't come cheap or free and since the subscribers aren't' paying for it then who. To top it off it's network hasn't expanded AT ALL!  Plus only so much of it's current network upgraded.

tmobileus legere has given into consumers demands and these same people haven't a clue on how to run a profitable business let alone a business model that'll help it grow and expand. He's sacrificed everything in the name of popularity.

He calls Verizon and AT&T dumb and dumber of course that's he's personal insecurities but both those companies are flourishing and he's still skimming on how to sucker the consumers and trash talking the competitors instead of focusing on tombileus to make it profitable and grow.  Anyone who behaves in that manner is making up for a HUGE personal shortcoming of it's own.

  17. I don't really see how this is a big deal in terms of the whole "reveloutionary" aspect of what T-Mobile claims to do with its "Uncarrier" and now "Amped" initiatives. T-Mobile could see AT&T preparing for this, so all T-Mobile did was beat them too it. Also, this could end up being very costly to T-Mobile, which once again keeps throwing all these extra "freebies" in which it may not be able to afford in the long run. Besides in the short term, T-Mobile needs to begin building more revenue to fund for its part in the 600mhz auction, rather than spending money on getting more free perks for its customers.

Seems to me the analysts and commented who mentioned T-Mobile's pressuring the government for more spectrum really is so T-Mobile can get a free ride out of it. T-Mobile needs more spectrum so it can get a better network here in the U.S. Now is not the time for T-Mobile to be spending money on getting more free international perks for it customers T-Mobile should be spending here in the U.S., rather than competing against AT&T international. With this latest move, seems T-Mobile gave up competing against Verizon in their ridiculous ripoff campaign, now instead focusing on AT&T.

Sprint is being much smarter in their moves. Fewer international deals that satisfy a need, without wasting money. Instead focusing that money on a real need with its network here. I really wish my experience with Sprint had been better, because overall I think they have the best business strategy and are doing the best with it.

    Touche' Touche' Touche'

That's well said and on point!  On both accounts.

What many who live in denial is the fact that legere and the so called uncarrier business model (short term) is setting up tmobileus for a buyout. Anyone who's bought into this have had the wool pulled over their eyes in believing what he's selling is nothing but smoke and mirrors. A Pipe Dream!

In two years time it will be sold or hostile takeover.
