  1. Don't worry John will come out and twist some words more.

John was however caught in this heap here "It's not throttling, it's optimizing!"

Doesn't he always, just like a used cheap car salesman and Tom wheeler the FCC turns a blind eye and allow them to wipe their ass with his net neutrality book.

  2. I hate to break it to you, but did you not notice the winking smiley emoticon?

"Lose/loose" has become an S4GRU and Internet epidemic for several years now.

And we like to make fun of it, have done so for several years now.

No I didn't catch that. My bad!

I'm definitely out of the loop in regards to what you just mentioned.

    ● btw it's contagious because I seen it used immensely over social networks

    Loose vs lose

    Sigh...

  3. I have been holding onto my ED plan until Sprint made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. Well they did.

A couple of days ago I logged into my account and clicked the the change plan link to see what it would show. It showed that I was eligible for the 40 GB Family Share with no line access fees for $120 a month. So I called Sprint to verify.

The rep I spoke with confirmed I was eligible for the plan and that I would not be changed line access fees. I ask her twice just to make sure. She also claimed that I will still get the loyalty credit on the lease I currently have.

Bottom line is after my employer discount I will be paying almost half what I was paying for 3 lines.

I took the offer. Essentially I traded my unlimited data and subsidy pricing for a cheaper bill and built in hotspot. I never used more that 15 GB total between 3 lines but the fact that I will get unlimited 2G beyond the 40GB instead of being charged for overages made it an easier decision.

I would suggest all existing ED plan users to check what Sprint is offering right now as far as alternatives. It may actually be worth it to switch.

    No way JOSÈ!!

The only way I switch is if they took ED plans away from my dead cold hands.

    Unlimited everything FTW!!

Btw everything you just claimed you better get it in writing or you'll get fubar'd. Especially the loyalty Credit because that's specifically for legacy plans and the employer discount goes towards the data fee and not the plan itself.

To date I have not seen anything comparable or better to the ED plans.

    ● Be mindful because what sounds too good to be true most probably is. Especially your first billing cycles, guarantee they'll be a lot of questions.

  4. Loyalty credits is what got me to embrace the newly introduced Lease and Easy Pay finance programs offered to clients on Legacy plans. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't even batted an eye.

Word has it UNFORTUNATELY is that Sprint has downgraded from $15 loyalty credits to $10 effective 1 November 2015.

    Now that CHAPS my hide!

Fortunately I upgraded prior to that drop date and received the $15 loyalty credits on all 3 lines plus promo of $200 ea line for trade in a smartphone towards the account. I traded in a SII, Arrive & Evo 3D

    Made out very well.

  5. Has anyone actually received the update in the past 2 or 3 days? Seems like the rollout has hit a wall and that hardly anyone has actually received it yet. So much for getting it in 2015.

No, the other G4 has not received the update as of yet however guarantee if I do a force push I could get it.

I'm just not that inclined to do it, lol.

However the other G4 I did the force push on is doing fantastic!

  6. Just heads up.

This a prelude of things to come so it be best to prepare yourself.

Subsidy is the thing of the past so do it now or add a line before years end. Come Jan 2016 I forsee Sprint killing subsidy financing in favor of Easy Pay and Lease.

Ebrace it or simply buy out the device retail either through Sprint, Amazon or Swappa & eBay.

  7. Here's something I've done in the past and it's worked but haven't tried it on this device. YET!!

    ● Not recommended.

I'm not liable for any issues now or in the long run from these actions.

    Force OTA update:

    First update prl & profile

    Under settings>apps:

Clear "data" for Google Play Services under manage space

"Force stop" Google Services Framework & clear "data"

Next reboot. Run the Systems Update through Sprint Zone App under Device Diagnostics>System Update>Device Software

The date in the Software Update should have a date of 1969 if so tap Check Update.

    * It may take awhile for the update to take so be patient. Once it finds it it'll let you know it's downloading and that will also take some time because it's a big file.  Once that's complete an option at the bottom screen will appear to proceed with the update.

    Good luck!

  8. I have noticed that I have not been able to see subsidized phones on the Sprint store since Thanksgiving with my Everything Datashare 1500 with 300MB roaming per line. Of course without subsidized phones, this plan becomes significantly more expensive. I was hoping to get at least to CAx3 phones.

I have watched the wording carefully used by Marcello Claure. While he promised to continue these plans, there was no mention of the phone subsidies.

Of course we have heard about the end of these plans before so I am attempting verification from a credible source.

These subsidized phone plans make upgrading a "no brainer" with full phone choice and you have a backup phone to cover you when your phone breaks (even with insurance). Without them I would upgrade less often/consider other carriers.

I've noticed the greyed area as well but at the same time took notice at the same time that the system identifies with the account and if its subsidy qualified ( meaning out of contract) it will be available and if not ( still in contract) it will be greyed out, not accessible however if you qualify for the other two financial programs you'll have access to use them.

Btw. Don't forget legacy customers get loyality credits towards the new finance programs so it offsets the additional monthly costs. I have 3 lines this year on lease and for each line I get $15 credit monthly bringing the billing the same as if I used subsidy except of course I don't keep the devices. Yes its an option to buy out at the end but would you!?

    It's most definitely debatable.

  9. My sprint rep called a couple of days ago and while i am keeping the plan i have grandfathered in the ability to have the subsidized phones goes away jan 1. I have two upgrades available on a use it or lose it basis by jan 1 so i am grabbing two new phones while i still can on a subsidy. The contracts will be in effect until their terms in then the subsidies go away.

    Strange. This is a first!

Take it with a grain of salt when it hasn't been made official through normal channels.

  10. First impression for 6.0. Standby battery life is great! Actually using the phone seems to drain the battery (Android software is the culprit). I also am having an issue where you cannot send a picture text via hangouts. Get a retry sensing error over and over. Other than those two items it runs great and seems real smooth.

First like everyone is asking is the update to marshmallow Android 6.0 OTA push

Second did you do a hardware reset back to manufacturers specs.

That being said I always recommend a hard reset after an OS update. Always!

It purges your system and start fresh that way the device runs at peak performance.

  11. Noticed this morning on my account that there was a LG G4 $50 Credit. Anyone else receive anything like this on their account?

    \

    Congrats!

      * btw no I didn't and I upgraded 3 of the lines not too long ago to the G4

Do I need to register the device with LG because I haven't as of yet.

  12. Supposedly the ZVI update was pushed 12/07. I just flashed it on my G2 so I'll let you know what differences I notice.

Edit: The Spark logo lives on.

Yes. I seen the update posted earlier this week on Sprint's website for the G2 but there's no telling when it'll actually get pushed OTA.

Case in point the Moto X 2013 on Sprints website had the update to Android Lollipop 5.1 & Stagefright plus other enhancements posted mid November and yet the OTA push just started a day ago.

So who knows when ZVI will start to get pushed out.

    ● btw I'm on Ver 5.0.2 on the G2 but don't have any Spark logos at all.

  13. FYI

Sprint has FINALLY released Android Lollipop 5.1 along with Stagefright plus other enhancements on 8 December 2015. I was up late at night downloading and installing due to the file size. Afterwards as always I did a hard reset to manufacture specifications to purge the systems and start fresh. It's been fantastic and way way long overdue.

      * Have at it and enjoy it

  14. Personally, I wouldn't do it. If you really need a phone right now, I would look at all the sales going on right now around the holidays. many Galaxy S5s and Nexus 5 (2013) have gone for as low as 149.99 on some retail sites. (Manufacturer reconditioned, but still good if you just need a phone to wait out your renewal period)

Just remember that once you go with a lease or easy pay through Sprint, you CANNOT go back to subsidy. That monthly bill credit is only temporary and once it runs out you'll be stuck buying phones at full price or renting them. If Sprint will still honor your SERO contract, then use it. I don't get the hate for SERO contracts on this board. It seems at times users here have a bigger problem with SERO than Sprint does. If it's a big bleed for Sprint as many make it out to be, then Sprint will end them. Until then, all SERO users should continue to enjoy their cheaply priced contracts with subsidies and continue to renew until Sprint says no more. Companies are out to get the most $ out of their products/services, so why shouldn't consumers do vice versa?

In regards not being able to go back to subsidy once the lease or easy pay option if selected is inaccurate and erroneous information.

Subsidy, EasyPay and lease are nothing more than financial programs not part of the plan the customer is on. This entails the programs have a similar contractual agreement across the line which is once you've met the financial commitment then you're released from that. That also entails that your options of subsidy, EasyPay and lease will continue to be available as a financial program as to which to upgrade future devices.

Unless this has changed and there is a link to Sprint website quoting this then it stands.
