  1. The LG G4 (Non-Rooted)

Need to know if this is a software or hardware issue.

Today the device wouldn't turn on.

Removed the battery for a minute.

    Placed the battery back in.

    Powered up!

Looked to be okay then froze and restarted.

Now it's in a loop restarting from welcome screen to main display then again and after two or three times it shuts off and needing again to remove the battery to power up.

Also TRIED a hard reset step but when it looks to be pulling up the recovery mode it stalls then goes to the " LG life's good powered by android " screen display but doesn't go anywhere. It stuck there.

    Recommendations!

  2. Sounds like an isolated incident.

No connection issues in either voice, text or data.

    Smooth sailing on band 41, 4G LTE+ 2xCA Reaching speeds of 100 + Mbps.

•Btw did the update from lollipop 5.1.1 to marshmallow 6.0.1 this past weekend and also did multiple hard resets and cleared cache. Thus far buttery smooth.

  3. The post by Tin (atomic50) is but just a passing overview and highlights of the T-mobile & Sprint spectrum swap.

We've stayed up til the candle whicks burned out discussing this deal and another that involves the Big Red.

Ofcourse an article is being written and will be out in time after some thorough analysis of the filings but let's just say it's yay for dozens upon dozens upon dozens of "markets" covering tens of millions of people.

    Most intriguing!

Any time table on the articles press release. I'm really looking forward to it.

  4. You can see a nice map at: http://www.spectrumgateway.com/t-mobile-700a-spectrum

Owned spectrum is in pink, pending transactions with FCC are in gold. They won't be finalized until after quiet period due to 600 auction, but T-Mobile filed for concurrent leases, so they can use the spectrum until FCC formally ok's it.

    Map links are inconclusive.

Do you have a link covering this news. Officially!

    FierceWireless, Wall Street Journal, etc

  5. I'm not sure I would call densification plans "copying Sprint." All the carriers are densifying to some extent.

T-Mobile has been densifying plenty of markets to date, as well as having plans for many more. Their densification strategy in my market has been mixed and varied with multiple approaches. In some areas they have built brand new sites from scratch, in most areas however they are co-locating. With most of these new sites in this market, they have been L2100/U1900 only sites, with no GSM carriers or now sunset U2100 carrier(s). Hell, they've even been adding sectors to some heavy load areas to increase capacity.

In some cases they have deployed small cells, or mini macros if we are being honest. In some cases they are full tri-sector builds alone. Some are single or multi-sector builds strung across multiple nodes. Its been very interesting to watch. Some are located on existing utility poles, some had poles built for the purpose.

I do also know that they are overlaying Band 12 in Band 2 GMO land. I don't believe these sites are being reworked for tower top radios on the existing PCS side of the radio chain, but they are getting Band 12 layers either GMO or tower top radio'd. I wouldn't count on T-Mobile, or anyone, sitting on their hands in 2016.

    I would.

If not then no one is copying anything from anyone on any playing field.

    There simply being competitive.

Invented vs Inovation. An idea flourishes never means that they copy, right!

  6. In the Steve Harvey commercial it said that tmobile now has more lte towers than Verizon. Is that true cuz that seems really surprising to me

Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk

    Not even close.

Once again Steve Harvey screws up the Miss Universe pageant and now the most carrier towers for us major wireless networks.

That boy just continues to dig himself deep into the ground.

  7. Fast charging doesn't always work when i plug it in. Is my charger going out or what? I move to other outlets an works sometimes.

I came across the same issue and I went on communities inquiring on this and everyone pointed out the same thing. It's the u_s_b cable going bad or has gone bad. The recommendations were also equal to replace the cable but keep the charger.

So I did I had a generic USB cable on hand and that did it.

  8. It is not a "radio chip" issue. It is an antenna issue. Some antenna designs perform better than others. And some bands perform better than others.

    AJ

Yes that's what I was getting at, the antenna performance among manufacturers make a huge difference.

It all depends on location and that's all wrapped into the different variety of bands/Mghz but just focusing on one location with different carrier networks all being equal and with different devices all being new the performance still differ because of the antenna in the hardware.

That's the main point and why I wish Google's fi would allow other devices than just Nexus.

  9. I have been experimenting with Sprint and T-Mobile using Google's fi project. Both of them are OK but not great in the Melbourne, FL area. Both of them have low spectrum in the area so coverage is pretty decent at least outdoors. Sprint is a little worse than T-Mobile. But I what I have noticed is that both networks are 3-6db worse than AT&T at the same place and the same time. AT&T's signal is also more steady. It does not wildly swing between good and bad.

    Interesting you brought that up.

Through my experience just on one of the four major carriers devices have known to function or perform differently based on manufacturer and the technology of hardware in the radio chip. So I guess what I'm trying to say is if only Google's fi would allow far more devices on its project instead of Limit it to Nexus devices. I'm a firm believer in each device performing or performance in radio chip differs immensely.

Thanks for the feedback. Great info!

  10. Looks like ATT Note5 users are getting the 6.0.1 beta if this is to be believed

    http://goo.gl/SsLf74

Could be months still before we get a stable build. I see this as discouraging. Maybe I'm being a pessimist.

Sent from my Sprint Note5 for your reading pleasure

    Thanks for the heads up!

I would guesstimate end of March or in April for an OTA push to Android marshmallow.

  11. Finally! Study by Stanford law school proves the obvious. Hopefully the FCC will take appropriate actions.

BingON should have been DOA, but better late than never.

    http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/net-neutrality-expert-fcc-t-mobiles-binge-likely-illegal/2016-01-29

Yes I read that earlier today. My first reaction

    FINALLY!!

Now let's see if Tom wheeler aka FCC will enforce the net neutrality rule book or continue to allow legere and t-mobile to wipe their ass with it.

  12. I'm not too hard bent in regards to subsidies (2yr contracts ) going away like it was in the beginning of last year.

In fact at the end of last year with all the sales and promos I took advantage of the lease program. But this is one thing I do have to say that as long as Sprint continues loyalty Credit I have really no issues and I'm good to go.

It was bad enough they dropped the loyalty Credit from $15 to $10 but if they get rid of it all together then yes I definitely have an issue with upgrades only through lease and easy pay.

  13. Well, the new unlimited plan has 3GB of included tethering. Of course, this doesn't affect us on legacy plans, but it is still something that Sprint's enabling for future customers.

Ah yes the new unlimited plans I'm aware of but I was thinking on the legacy plans.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

  14. I'm actually quite impressed with T-Mobile's network expansion too. They've done ridiculously well and exceeded my expectations. I don't think they met the 2015 coverage they were looking for (geographically speaking), but they did hit their POPs covered (maybe). There's a lot of their map that is incorrect and exaggerates, but all of the carriers do this to an extent.

Regardless, I'm kind of glad T-Mobile is as successful as it is, or Sprint wouldn't have offered me global roaming, or other things like no more overages, included tethering on unlimited plans, and other nice freebies.

    Tether on unlimited plans?!

    Please elaborate...
