    LG G3

Yep, definitely an issue with Ookla's app or hosting servers. Check out this test I got on Band 26 a few days ago.

How do you receive the status on the notification bar on the upper left hand corner.   LTE 26  102??

    LG G3

Just came from the Sprint 4G LTE community on Google + and Salt Lake city is getting some wickedly insane speed performance on Spark.

Speeds of 232.00Mbps dl, I've been unable to attach photos for some reason so here's the next best thing. The link to the pics via  imgur:

Wow.  I hope one day Spark will be this great in my area.

  1. Looking around old Samsung threads people were saying OTA a week or two after the RDF. Although of course it's possible with a major release like this it could be longer...

I would guesstimate in 2nd QTR 2015 but wasn't really sure that's why I asked.

    Thanks

  2. Thanks to everyone for shedding some light on the RDF update to 5.0.2. It's good to know Sprint finally has it and working on it.

      * At this point what's the probable drop date for OTA from Sprint. Nothing concrete just a estimate. Best guess...

  3. It renders properly in internet explorer, try it

Ah, Okay..thanks. Now that makes far more sense when in that format. I was using Mozilla Firefox and it's all run on characters left to right so it looked like gibberish.

    Thanks

  4. I still have this device and it's purring like a LION!

Is anyone aware what happen to the UPdate to KK 4.4.2 that was scheduled to be released by LG mid summer 2014. Last status known was LG had released the update but nothing ever materialized from the carriers.

    Any insight would be great.

    Thanks

  5. With all my phones, I've just asked,

    1. "Could you give me the MSL number for the phone XXX-XXX-XXXX on my account? Thanks for your time. :)"

    2. They say, "Sure, let me see if I can help you with that."

    3. 1 minute passes.

    4. They give me the MSL.

    5. ???

    6. Profit

Alright then, if I'm unable to get a dialer code for the Moto X I'll take your advice and see what happens.

    Thanks.

  6. Open a Sprint live chat and ask for the MSL of your phone. They've always given it to me.

I've been hesitant in doing that since I've heard tons of negative feedback from others that the reps either don't know or are hesitant in giving out or won't and very few others like yourself whom had luck getting it.

What will I need to let them know in order to get it.

  7. No.  There is no such dialer code.  The MSL is essentially unique to each handset.

    AJ

Oh, that's strange. I'm aware in regards to the MSL being unique per device but prior to this I had a G2 as my daily driver and got the MSL by dialing  ##443336772# and it popped up at the bottom for a few seconds. I was thinking it would be the same across all smartphones but wasn't sure if the dialing code would be the same. I did try the G2 dialing number (aforementioned) but it didn't work so I was thinking the Moto X perhaps has a unique dialing number for it to get the MSL number.

    Make sense.....

  8. I wasn't being general at all. I was speaking about a very specific group of aggressive Tmo trolls defecating all over FierceWireless article comments. And that is my feelings about that very specific group of people.

And maybe I don't travel out of my own forums very often, but I typically see on Sprint topics folks explaining what Sprint is doing rationally and intelligently and then a whole lot of attacks commence against them. The poisoned Hate-erade people be drinking is messin' up their minds.

Americans are getting so polarized. Our egomaniacal over valued self worth and opinion is crossing bounds that it even infringes on others to have an opinion. Even something as trivial as an opinion over which wireless provider they use. We are finding our identities in brands and life themes, persecuting people who think differently. It almost feels like we are socially devolving to some extent.

Robert you hit it on the nail. It's also like that on Google + social network.

  9. In regards to wireless carriers rankings that's about to change. If reports are leaning towards Sprint no longer holding the #3 spot that won't be a long term placement. Sprint has everything in needs to be successful (Resources) and extend the gap between tmobile but what was sorely missing is it's LEADERSHIP to take them there. Softbank Masayoshi son was the first and crucial step in that direction. Now with Mr. Hesse leaving Mr Son has chosen his successor and that's the 2nd most crucial step in Sprint's company to propel them back on course. Now what's next is staff management in key position which has already in the works and it's on. Both Mr. Son and Mr. Claure having a proven successful business track record and leadership to get this accomplish. Now with the circus show out of the way (tmobile) it can dedicate it's plan of action 100% to that.

The next phase is seeing what plans Sprint has in store and initiate it. I'm looking at both short term now, within a year, and long term, 3-5 years. Starting with the year plan to make a difference now rather than later.

  10. I said this earlier....

This may yet be a blessing in disguise for Sprint as freed up money could lead to buyout of smaller cellular companies to add to it's network expansion as well as  improvements. Turning a profit and ramp up for next years action. Sprint's sugar daddy, Masayoshi Son, at Softbank can make that happen.

On the other hand tmobile future doesn't look at all good. With the failed combined joint spectrum auction blockade by the FCC it will have no means to raise enough money needed and coupled with the fact DT is still pursuing to dump them off to the highest bidder and get out of the US market. Apparently Iliad is supposed to be bidding again along with Dish, Cox, and Charter's help. If this is true, you can say goodbye to Uncarrier as those 3 companies are looking for profit immediately. They;re going to want to raise prices all around to justify their purchase.

Let's see how the story unfolds. Turn the page....

  11. The change was minor enough that the ZVC kernel actually works, just no Knock Code. Knock Code and ART make it a very nice bump and I think we can expect Wifi calling at some point, probably with 4.4.3 but it's no deal breaker.

Do you honestly believe the G2 will get 4.4.3 or will it completely skip it and go straight to Android L on it's next HUGE software update and will that be the last as far as major updates go not including fixes and or add ons down the road afterwards,

    LG G3

    Nope.

I thought band 41 would be blazing fast, but turns out it was just average...

This was in Atlanta, I also hit 26 much of the time i was at the aquarium.

    attachicon.gifScreenshot_2014-07-19-17-39-36.png

Edit - I did manage to lose my HD voice cherry while in the ATL though.

Wow, yeah band 41 should be way faster but everything depends if it's complete. I'm in an area with only 4G LTE (Non-Spark) and the most I get is 35Mbps dn and 10Mbps up on band 26. So I average at 30Mpbs dn and 7Mbps up.

Give it some time and continue running systems updates. PRL/Profile/Firmware & software updates. Band 41 is capable of 60+Mbps...

    LG G3

Trying out G3 for a few days, So far its been pretty good. A couple of quick notes, looks like no built in Qi Wireless charging, and also Bluetooth still seems janky like the G2. Im connecting to my VW GLI Bluetooth and volume is excessively low. Another downside is I do notice some hiccups here and there in the UI, coming from my Nexus 5, its noticeable.

On a brighter note, signal strength seems slightly better than my N5 using the latest radio, B25 performance is comparable, B26 is slightly stronger (2-3dBm stronger), and B41 is better(4-6dBm stronger)

The G3 is capable of Wireless charging, it is built into it however it requires the Quick Circle case for it to function on the Qi Charger. At this time that is the only known way to make it work. Be sure it is the ones for the state and not international ones.
