  1. well LTE is working great for me, thanks for b25/b26. Only at work , our site has no b25 yet, so im stuck on evdo, which i cant get data on. Thankfully target has wifi

Same here I rarely get 3G but for some reason randomly once in a blue moon it does it but for the most part 4G LTE on band 25 since I don't get 41 or 26 in my market even thought I set defaults to priority 1 on band 41 and P2 on band 26 and P3 on band 25 on the hand set.

  2. So ive been getting the " unable to establish a data connection" error, but on on 3g. LTE works fine, any one else experience this?

No but I'm noticed today it switching to 3G so I initiated a PRL update brought it back to 4G LTE.

  3. HTC uses their own servers to do OTA updates so that will not affect anything from Google's servers.

Hoping for tomorrow, but it may not be until Monday that KK is sent out to our G2s.

Wow really, Sprint is going to take it till the end of month, lol. Talk about holding true to their word. Eh no biggie, it would have been nice to get it later tonight or even this weekend but we've waited this long so Monday is just a few more days down the road.

Still looking forward to KIT KAT!! :tu::w00t:

  4. I heard the HTC One Max is receiving KitKat via OTA today for Sprint...

Doesn't look good for us.  Although, I noticed that the Sprint page for the One Max still hasn't updated to show that the OTA was being rolled out.  So who knows...

    Yep it sure is....

HTC One Max on Sprint Gets a Taste of KitKat!

    http://www.androidheadlines.com/2014/03/htc-one-max-sprint-gets-taste-kitkat.html

It would seem HTC may have started on kit kat ahead of LG so that's no surprise since the One received it in January 2014 as far as Sprint devices go. Sprint Spark may have also played a role in it's later release vs non Sprint Spark devices.

  5. Should be rolling out tomorrow, then. Sweet.

Is it a flashable zip or simply a source code and we'll have to wait for OTA since LG PC suite and Mobile support tool software doesn't work for the LS980.

  6. I figured which is why root was removed from the device and supersu removed as well.  Its been stock now for a while.  Update won't take though.

There's going to be an update.zip file on XDA somewhere that removes the security check. Should be able to be flashed from recovery without issue. I'm not rooted on my G2 (have been on all my previous devices) so I haven't been keeping up this time around. I can't imagine it's much different than HTC and Samsung updates though from my experience in the past.

    Best of luck! :tu:

    :thx:  halcyoncmdr.

  7. I figured which is why root was removed from the device and supersu removed as well.  Its been stock now for a while.  Update won't take though.

Not sure why it won't take if it's no longer rooted and flashed back to OG setup. Doing a systems clean and perhaps running all the systems updates starting with prl, profile, firmware then lg software.

The last resort is to return reset to manufacture settings and began fresh start.

  8. I am sorry if this has been discussed before (wasn't getting any hits on the search for ZVA).  Has anyone had any trouble installing the ZVA update on a (previously rooted) stock phone?  Every week I get the same "Update Available" message, but the update never takes.  I have wiped many times but nothing seems to work.  The status bar gets half way before a quick flash happens and the phone restarts.

The device won't take OTA updates rooted.

  9. I think it is the markets more then the phone.

That's what I'm starting to believe as well but in some of the posts it references issues after updates and such so that's why I was really feeling bad for them.

One thing that has to be considered is that the prl updates recently pushed out were designed to be money savers meaning that the radio will connect to the Sprint tower/antenna vs the best signal which may or may not be Sprint's tower.

    Just a thought....

  10. Wow in reading all the postings in regards to radio issues on a wonderful device as the LG G2 I can't but feel for you guys and really hope it gets resolved very soon! :phone:

I on the other hand have had the G2 since the holidays 2013 and really had had any major issues to report since I had it and after all the updates pushed out. I just can't feel what you guys must be going through but can only imagine.

In any case I always initiate a factory rest when updates are pushed regardless of what type. I'm not rooted or flashed and I don't require an air ave. Totally stock and I've enjoyed it thus far. :sunny:

Good luck to you all! :tu:

  11. Well I hope that you are right. I thought i read a post on here saying that they wasnt having those kind of problems anymore now like equipment/cards etc anymore. I really dont see why son thinks that he has to buy t mobile to get subscribers if they spent 45 billion on towers and equipment to actually get close to where at&t and verizon coverage wise and get some spectrum maybe from the 600mhz auction and deploy what they already have i think the subscribers would come if they did what son really said like speeds of 200mbps and massive price war they would have close to the best network. Seems also at the rate we are going but hopefully not the big two are gonna be hitting close to those speeds by then anyways around like 2016. What you think?????

    Scale!!

“We need a certain scale, but once we have enough scale to have a level fight, OK,” Son said during the interview with Rose, airing nationally in the U.S. “It’s a three-heavyweight fight. If I can have a real fight, I go in more massive price war, a technology war.”

  12. Seems as if the spark update did render my signal a little bit because before the spark update my galaxy s3 pretty much held the same signalmaybe 1 or 2 db better but now when comparing sometimes my galaxy s3 gets anywhere from 5-10 better db. I hope with the next update they atleast get it back to what it was.

The GS3 is not a Tri-Band device therefore not spark capable to receive the software update.

  13. First pic is non peak hours and second one peak hours at my home site which is legacy. I get in the 60s signal wise on 3G upstairs and low 80s downstairs. I can't imagine how good my signal will be after it gets a 3g/lte upgrade as in every case the 3g signal increases up to around -10 dbm. Places where I would roam or get no coverage I get over 3G now and that's just 1900 3G. If my home tower was a spark tower I would be in mobile heaven lol.usedy7e7.jpg9eze5a8e.jpg

Question: Why is the 3g icon displayed as the old compared to the current one on the G2 which is 3g in a circular ring.

  14. Just got the G2 to replace my single band S4, is it worth rooting if KK is releasing soon?

I've read that rooting is not as straightforward on the G2 as it is on other devices.

You realize that Sprint carries the Tri-Band S4 model....

  15. ok i need help. I know how to do the prl update but i dont know how to check what prl im on? Im having the same issues most of you are having too except my bluetooth is just fine. Im going to disable band 26 and 41 and see what happens. Im in Denver and you can only get band 41 on hotspot or if you force it, i use to get it before spark update cause i enabled band 41. Anyways i will let you know how it goes after i disable those bands

To check what PRL your on do the following.

    -menu->settings->about->status

The current PRL on the device will show

  16. I saw it when you posted the first time. But we had no clue it was going to change twice without us knowing.

Some devices had updated on it's own while others were updated with the user initiating a manual push. xxx18 was the initial push followed the xxx00. Once all the 18 were implemented across all servers the 00 was immediately released. I myself experienced the automated push by Sprint on the initial xxx18 but had the xxx00 updated when I did  a manual push this past Thursday. It doesn't specify timetable for each PRL but in reading it I surmised once the initial push was competed the 2nd would follow and a week later is simply put impressive. This is one time I'm glad we didn't have to wait for updates months apart, lol. I'm just glad it's done and looking forward ECSTATICALLY to Kit Kat 4.4.2

  17. I posted a link to this earlier but I guess no one saw but this is what's up in regards to the PRL push by Sprint.

    FYI......

Some information I came across in regards to the Sprint PRL push.

On Thursday, 2/27/14, Sprint will release PRLs ending in xxx00 and xxx18 to OTA servers. These PRLs will be released to drive additional cost savings for Sprint and Affiliates across several roaming markets. To realize these savings, Sprint will begin proactively pushing the National PRL to subscribers with push-capable handsets/PDAs in these markets, then to the entire base.  "

How will these PRL's reduce costs?        Less roaming

Just thought I'd pass this along. :welc2:

  18. I haven't had any issues so everyone who is I hope the situation gets better for you guys. I've been on band 25 before and after the spark update so looks like I'm waiting on 41 & 26 as well as everyone for Kit Kat.

  19. Please don't copy the entire thing to preserve forum space.  I would edit your post and delete the contents or AJ will :P . Yes just do a Ctrl+F on your browser and search for "ZVB" and you will see that it is still the latest version.  This makes sense since the current firmware version for the Spark update is ZVA.

    Done!  :welc2:
