  1. This is just with the phone idle on wifi calling, no call in progress. My connection / modem setup is as follows: ----->TP-Link Archer C3200 DSL Modem ----->Netgear Nighthawk X8(R8500) ----->Airave ----->Desktop This is on a phone wifi call to my voicemail... This is on a wifi call to another phone on my account...from my phone. Airave data coming. I'm headed to UPS to pick it up now.
  2. No, they don't... I checked into it...it's not available anymore (and I checked back in November.) I'm thinking they didn't have the affect they were hoping for. As for the data...I'm sizing the pics now to post.
  3. I guess you're missing something..because I've had an airave since the very first one hit the market back in 08..and had Samsung branding on it. And the same sh*tty connection that I've always had. I know what works, and the airave is better than wifi calling. The current airave supports 6 simultaneous connections....3 voice calls and 3 data sessions. While the airave is designed to handle just traffic from a phone (read:femtocell), wifi calling has to battle with everything else on the network and is subject to any other traffic that might be happening at that time. While the real-world application differs from the "it's supposed to" application, I have no problem using 2-3 lines at once on the airave, while I have issues using just 1 line on wifi calling and nothing else can happen while that wifi call is in progress. Once the airave gets here, I'll be glad to post some screens from my Nighthawk X8 (R8500) router with wifi calling while in a call, then post a screen of the airave traffic while in a call... I already know which one eats up the most...but if it'll help anyone understand what I'm saying, so be it.
  4. Yeah, at my house. And mainly the reason I don't want to use wifi calling and use the airave is because I can't. When you have 4 devices ...or even 2 devices on wifi calling at the same time and you have a 511kbps upload speed, it tends to make it not worth even hitting the "call" button. For a single device, Wifi calling is fine, but once you get past that amount, you can't make phone calls if someone is 1)uploading photos/vids to cloud, 2)watching anything streaming, 3)listening to music streaming, 4)considering a google search, 5)having a thought process that involves anything internet-related... It'd be great if i had another option, but I don't.
  5. I had started wondering when I was on my G4 why it was doing speedtests that were 5mbps down / 2mbps up.. Then I just decided it was the area and maybe more people using Sprint. Now that I've done it with the Note 5 in the same locations, I'm seeing 18+mbps down / 9+mbps up... Seems like the throughput of the Note5 is better than the G4.. I dunno why, but it's sure happening, every time I test.
  6. My wife's G4 is having an issue I've never heard of before. The phone is fine on native coverage for voice and text, and on wifi calling it works fine too. But on roaming it acts like it isn't activated. Any call on roaming and you hear this" welcome to Verizon wireless, there was an error ...please reboot...etc " ... Sprint tech couldn't resolve and said its tower issue. My phone does right. No error on roam.. But they say its tower and I'm getting a callback when it's fixed. I am hoping they go ahead and optimize 800 mhz, we never would've found this prob with her phone if the airwave hadn't quit today. Another airave is on the way, will be delivered on Thurs..but it's a problem when she can't make calls unless she's in native / on wifi calling. I tried with my Note 5 sitting beside her G4. My phone does just fine...Her phone gives error. Texts on her phone won't send/receive. I have tried ##scrtn#..probably around 5-6 times now...and they did a network refresh on their end...still nothing. But, maybe this will cause someone to visit the tower near me and do something to 800 so I get service.. I personally think something is wrong with her phone and it prob needs factory reset... But I'm not sure what a factory reset will do that ##scrtn# hasn't already done. Other than that, I've never seen this before. Either it works or it don't...I've never seen where phone didn't work on roaming at all, but worked on native just fine. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  7. I have wondered why my G4 would test so much lower on LTE (band 25 & 26 only, no 41 here to test on) ..and this note5 tests way higher far as speed goes. And to add to the Rf convo, I see better signal with this note 5 than I did with my G4. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  8. Well, like you said, I have a lot invested. I have 8 years in sprint & I guess the main reason is I don't like change. I have Vonage home phone & had the Same # since 2007.I could port but I just like keeping stuff simple & to me its such a hassle to try and find a carrier that will work here that its not really worth any small gains I might see in cellular signal & coverage around here. There isn't much option for my little area. There isn't another option that gives me what sprint gives me. I Know it probably is much easier than what I am thinking but I would just as soon stay with sprint Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  9. Add me to the list..both for Sampay and Wells Fargo, and for Android M on my Note5. I just placed the order last night for the 64gb Note 5 ...likely I'll be returning the 32gb that I"m currently using. If I had known beforehand that stores didn't keep the 64, I would've done it online to begin with...
  10. I've been an LG user since the G3 premiered... And totally loved the design. The biggest reasons were: The back buttons. Says it all Knock on. made things just simple, as they should be. The quality. No gimmicky junk that nobody really uses (*heartbeat sensor, really?)... I moved from Samsung galaxy devices after the S3..to LG..And never looked back. The s3 was a solid device and had useful features...but the S4 just wasn't my cup of tea. The gimmicky stuff they put in it and the sluggishness of Touchwiz just turned me completely off to it. My wife got the S5, and I saw quickly that Samsung was still doing the same crap, so I went to the G4. Now, I'm reading the stuff about LG moving the back buttons to the side...and the screen size being either smaller or the same as G4 & G3..and that's enough to turn me away. I originally loved the innovation of the G3 back button and knock on... But now, I've had to do something with my daughter's phone...her s5 screen cracked, and kept cracking...but was still usable for a while...but the last couple weeks it got so bad that she couldn't use it anymore... So I had to do something. Nothing has come out the last couple months so I had to choose something that's been on market for a while. I decided that I wasn't going to get my daughter a brand new premium phone to carry around and have "accidents" happen. The S5 screen wasn't her fault, per se, but it still happened. And I went to Sprint's store on Monday without knowing much of anything about current devices...and wasn't ready to get myself another phone...but had to choose quickly.. I wound up deciding to move back to Samsung, and got the Note 5. The only thing I'm unhappy with is the stores don't carry 64gb versions, and I'll be fixing that problem on Monday...I'm using my 14-day to take the 32gb back, swap for the 64 and have it direct ship to store. They said that was the only way I could get it...they won't ship to residence... Other than that, I'm completely happy with the Note 5, aside from not having SD storage. The only reason 32 won't be sufficient, I've had it 4 days now, and I'm at 18gbs filled up now.. I have yet to download my Rhapsody playlists to the phone so I know in a year or 2 I will be maxxed out. If LG had continued it's current path and kept things the way they are now....except bring a little bigger screen this time, and a Note-type stylus and interface like Samsung has with the Note...then I would've done things differently with my daughter and got the LG phone when it hit. I do have an extra phone (G3) that I could've put my daughter on until the G5 arrived, then upgrade ... LG had my support until now, and deciding to do it like everyone else is just a fail to me. Nothing it seems will set the G5 apart from anything else out there..where used to people could tell by the way your phone buttons were placed and know you had that LG phone.. Or they would see you tap the screen 2 times and know what you had. Now, if you get a G5 and put a case on it...what's gonna be the "hey, thats the new LG phone isn't it?" factors? Nothing. I'm more pleased that I can handle more with my Note than I could with G4 and G3... All the testing I do for companies, I can download and sign my NDA's with the Note and do some pretty neat stuff with that S-pen.
  11. I feel your Alabama pain. I'm in a position where I'm just out of range of band 26, drive a couple miles and get band 25...and not even considering band 41 as an option yet (but that's not Sprint...that's because the backhaul around here SUCKS.) When the business class DSL and fiber speeds don't even hit 10mbps...it's hard to believe they'll (Sprint) convince AT&T to bring them fiber to a rural tower to support b41.. I'm really thinking Alabama is going to be a great market for microwave and small cells..but it's just getting that stuff deployed. I live 6 miles from the closest 30mbps charter node...and the businesses that I know who opt for DSL can only get 6mbps down, 1/2 a meg up. So with that, I think Sprint's hands are tied. I could get several people to consider Sprint if I could really show them how the service "should" be. As it stands right now, I keep my mouth shut and don't complain much (it works when I need it, if I'm rural then I deal with subpar dialup speeds until I get closer to the 2 towers that have LTE near my house). I took my 4 wheeler for a ride the other day...just behind my house where the hill I live on gets a bit more steep...and over the rumble of my grizzly 660 I heard the SCP jingle for LTE..Couldn't believe it.. Sure enough, grabbed my phone from the saddle bag and it showed a -100 or so b26 signal. And very usable...around 8mbps down and 2mbps up (loads better than my "broadband" home connection of DSL...and I'm directly nextdoor to the AT&T DSLAM for my area.) I'm not giving up on Sprint..got way too much time with them and way too much invested in devices. Heck, I just paid off three devices yesterday, and picked up a Note 5 for myself..and gave my daughter my LGG4..thanks to her S5 biting the dust. I tried to get her to her 7/1 eligible date for upgrade, but the screen was so cracked she couldn't use it, and the battery quit holding a charge. I'm digging the Note 5..wasn't sure I was ready to come back to Samsung yet, but the Note 5 is a real beauty.
  12. The electric company where I live charges anywhere from $50 to $250 to start electric service. And water authority here charges $350 to drop a meter in, $150 if a meter is already present. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  13. Yep. I tried emailing the address they gave me in Twitter but it was returned, so they told me they would send my info to their internal contact for that site. But yeah that's it. I didn't visit the links you posted but I know the address in the post above is the same as what they gave. Ideally I'm in a great spot for a small cell...edge of the towers 8 miles away, fiber under my driveway, directly next door on same side of road also as AT&T dslam...and a slight hill for better elevation sake. Maybe they will look into it and follow up with me Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  14. On a serious note, I would gladly do it without money in exchange for for service. Not really looking to get rich from it, but benefit from it via service and mark down on Bill would be great Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  15. I spoke via tweeter with a rep from Sprint CEO team about letting Sprint install on my property since I'm in ideal location (I live on a hill, fiber under my driveway and the AT&T dslam is literally next door to my house...) and they sent me to a site called Sprint NPS (national property services). I haven't heard back from them yet but if I do get into something like that, I'll keep everyone posted here. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  16. I'm glad I never made the horribly wrong decision to jump ship and go with at&vzw-mo Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  17. Before driving an hour to Sprint store and fighting that horrible stretch of road known as US280, I tried everything imaginable. From recovery mode to download mode. Recovery mode wouldn't start. Neither would download mode. Whatever happened was a hardware issue of some kind, and was unable to be simply fixed with button combinations. Even the tech in store said it wasn't something they could fix at all on any of the returned phones they've received. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  18. Yes, and I didn't explain the reason my first g4 locked up entirely...I just said that it boot looped...but, I was actually doing some checking of my backups I had made when it shut off by itself and started the boot loop junk. I wanted to do a factory reset so I went into the backup screen and looked at the LG backup I had made. I tapped on something in that menu and it locked up...then never booted again after that except to loop. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  19. I reset mine this morning when I saw that 384 was at 14 and deep was at 4. Now I've spent several hours, three or four, reinstalling everything and look at what it shows now. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  20. That would be great...just the amount of time it will take from now to get Sprint on par with the rest of the country... I wish Alabama was further along...And there was just one place in the entire state where band 41 could be enjoyed. Not even Birmingham though. I live between Bham and Montgomery...almost directly between the two on US280. I don't think Sprint will be a contender in my area, via adding to the tower that's 1 mile from me, for a long time, if ever. Three towers are fifteen miles away or so, I think they will use 26 to try and fill in, and lots of microwave on the towers. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  21. Doesn't look promising for avoiding factory reset so far, just downloaded app and ran it.... Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  22. Is the g4 scheduled to screw up at the same time as others or something? Literally mine did the same bug, boot loop on Tuesday when I woke up and had to get another. No mods ever, no root, nothing. Great phone up until it did that. Got new phone and initially started set up, then decided I should check for update on software...said none available so I figured hey, it's already on marshmallow...Wrong... Two hours into downloading and customizing, it said update was downloaded. Decided to try it without factory reset after update to marshmallow... So far, it shows 11h27m on today's charge...with 41% screen on. I'm thinking I need to factory reset...seems it should be better but I'll try the app first. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  23. I can't say much about DISH since I have a tie with them, except for I'll be a dish customer for a very long time, given my relationship with them doesn't change. I can honestly tell anyone that tries to get me to switch that they cannot - impossible - to match what I have. And at&t is adamant about getting people on direct, but I'd love to see dish do something with Sprint. 3 years ago I didn't have this same feeling, but now...And for the past year, I've felt that way. I think synergies would be great. Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
  24. Really? All the speed tests showing Sprint either better than or vastly improved in all the markets they've won lately? The cost cutting measures? The customer satisfaction improving drastically? Anyone who can't see improvement in Sprint in business and network practices isn't looking hard enough or is just ignoring the obvious things that have gotten better. I have a few complaints, but for the most part I'm still happy. Aside from the obvious - waiting on native coverage since 2008 when I joined Sprint - all other things I've had arise have been promptly resolved except one item recently (my galaxy tab 10.5" glass broke on screen. Screen still works fine, no issue with LCD, but the insurance is a joke. $200 deductible to get a replacement when mine only needs a glass piece in front that costs about $75. I don't understand why simple things like that can't be fixed in house...especially when I pay for both insurances..combined like $11 or $13 per month. That's my only unresolved issue. Sprint has even gotten better in this rural town, but still not enough to reach me (maybe with band 26 optimized it will) Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
