  1. I'm just curious does the small 2 beside the band mean a second carrier? If so, this was in Birmingham across from the 280 sprint corp store... Sent from my SM-T587P using Tapatalk
  2. I saw the first 'official' statements yesterday on the GN8 and some of it's incoming specs. This particular official release was the 4k display. I'm still on my GN5 and love it. It's been one of the best phones that I've had since I started with Android back in 2010. I don't have any complaints on it that would cause me to switch to a different phone. Root and custom ROM maybe, but not a different OEM. And i've had most of the top tier...LG G2, LG G3, LG G4...SGS5, SGNE, HTC1 M7 or M8..whichever it was I didn't like the HTC and didn't keep it. Is anyone else as geared up for the GN8 as I am? It's been a while since I kept a phone this long (the N5), but until a new NOTE comes out that doesn't explode...I'm happy. And that takes a lot for me to be in that state with a cell phone...but I am satisfied right now with what my phone can do. Thoughts, speculations? (btw, article for official display) http://www.inquisitr.com/3851437/note-8-samsung-4k-display-confirmed-official-statement/
  3. Do all carriers use the QoS QCI class identifier? Mainly, the big 4...do they all have that in-play currently on LTE and 3G for throttling?
  4. Verizon has stated they won't allow the update to their users. They "don't want to force their customers to be without a phone".... Suddenly they feel the need to show solidarity...with the idiots that want their 60% charged note 7 instead of returning it as they should. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  5. Sorry, but no. At&t has enough conglomerate activity going for it and already has the FCC looking at it's new OTT video service with raised brow... I have to deal with the at&t only life for being the only provider of any type of internet service and they are stagnant and declining in DSL tech. 8 years of at&t only and I've had enough of them. 6. I'm glad Sprint is progressing well...however, I'd love to see anything at all happen in Alabama. I realize it's not a priority market, but anything at all would be welcomed. It's been probably two years since things just halted here and haven't found any sign of anything happening since then.
  7. I'm seeing odd behavior on Cspire LTE roaming...it'll hold data for a while, then it says I have no signal, then 1x comes back...and have to cycle airplane to get LTE roaming back. I'm testing a piece of network equipment and decided to try phone hotspot---> ac Wi-Fi repeater--->lan to router that I'm testing---> lan to ps4. I'm a day away from bill cycle and at 18 of my 32 gb...But saw this behavior and thought maybe someone knows if this is normal to see while LTE roaming. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  8. Heading to Slidell in a day or two. Curious to see what's going on since my last visit, which was over a year ago. Maybe more carriers or even band 41 will be my finding...so far, I've never seen band 41 with any phone...from central Alabama through Mississippi, into Slidell. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  9. Just thought I'd throw this out for folks looking for roaming LTE. I'm visiting McComb, Mississippi and noticed I'm getting LTE on Cspire. Speed are good on download (around 12mbps), but they are atrocious on upload...less than 3. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/577caddc3456f/Screenshot_20160706-020447.png? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk Edit (Please move this if inappropriate for current thread, it was late when I posted and I was in a hurry and exhausted from the 7 hour drive)
  10. I got the email notifier and was wondering..."why sell $7.90 worth of stock..."..Food for thought...what if the stock sale is a push to give Sprint a load of cash..Maybe they said the CAPEX was 3bn when in actuality they privately plan to put 10bn in a drastic push to surpass Verizon. It's wishful thinking.. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  11. I like seeing Sprint make moves in small cell deployment, but after talking on Twitter via direct message with Sprint CEO line, I found out there are no planned upgrades for Alabama in the near future.... (what's near future, I'm not sure)... Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  12. Y'all are going to keep on with the politics until someone gets in trouble for it. Doesn't really pertain to the topic either...not a political thread or place to discuss it.
  13. I wish Alabama would get in gear but I'm not sure when we will see any improvement. My area still needs band 26 optimized and the 3rd and final tower turned into LTE. I wish somewhere had 41, or even a second 25 carrier...but we struggle to get decent internet so I can imagine Sprint's headache. I live where two 24pr fiber runs are under my driveway and still the max internet out of the DSLAM next door is 6 meg down. I hope with my close vicinity to the DSLAM that Sprint will approach me for a small cell in my small area. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  14. My wife went to Chattanooga this weekend and had band 41. She didn't know what to do with proof and such or even checking for two carriers, but she took a screenshot of signal pro showing band 41. Not sure if this is already known Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  15. Mine is downloading. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  16. I'm glad I missed the headset promo (thanks wells Fargo)....now you can get free wireless charging pad from Samsung for adding a card. Added mine the first day wells Fargo was avail but just redeemed promo...it's on the way. I didn't pay attention but I hope it's the fast charge one. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

    LG G3

Hey, I went from g4 to note 5 and I'm not looking back. And I've been a staunch LG supporter since G2. I thought I would be with LG a very long time, but I see that the g5 isn't my cup of tea...I just don't think it would be a phone that I'm really happy with. This note 5 is everything I've been looking for.
  18. I guess I should note that I'm asked to do weird things in the name of testing network devices for a few companies... There isn't much in the way of settings, aside from VPN, that I haven't tinkered with at one time or another. I set up all my routers in the same manner -- and that is from the viewpoint of having a suck-a$$ internet connection. So on the router side, I should be as optimized as I can possibly get. I only wish AT&T felt the same way and would turn the DSLAM up to max...I could possibly get 12mbps down and 3mbps up..but that's a pipe dream. I'll be stuck with 6mbps down and 0.5mbps up for the next decade or 2.
  19. This is what's been in place since I installed the R8500 router....so this was active for the previous screenshots:
  20. Well when wifi calling performs as I've shown above, it definitely won't be my preference...and I'll fight to keep my airave if I have to. However, when I called the direct line for airave support, 866.556.7310, they were eager to replace the airave, the ac adapter, or both. It was my decision of whichever one I wanted. I told them I wasn't sure if the ac adapter quit, or the airave itself quit..but it wouldn't come on at all -- no lights. After the phone call, I used my fluke to test the ac adapter and it was fine -- still outputting 12.2v (says 12v 2a).. So the airave was the culprit and i'm glad I asked for the entire thing to be replaced. Looks like I have to call them back and have them turn up the broadcast area. Seems they don't put the replacement under the same provisioning as the original (i had a ticket for my broken one to be turned up..).
  21. I wonder if current customers can also take advantage? Right now I'm on the 32gb shared bucket family...and I got...6 phones and 2 tablets...all of which pull from the 32gb. (I guess it's wasteful b/c the highest I've seen my data go is 17gb in a month..still below the initial 20gb that I moved up from before I got the 32gb plan.) I'd like to have one line unlimited...just for giggles...and that way if Sprint ever does away with unlimited, I'd have one line still on it...
  22. Here's the airave hooked up, my SGN5 connected, my LG G4 connected, and my wife's SGN5 connected. I made a VM call with my GN5, other 2 are still idle. Here's a call to call with both phones on the Airave (beep when answer). This is from SGN5 to LG G4. I should note that I waited 30 seconds into phone call to refresh the Netgear page so the activity is accurate (on EVERY screenshot...so the phone calls are well established in every screenshot.) So does this explain why I rather use the airave versus Wifi calling...especially with my sh*tty connection? It may not be much difference (well actually in one phone call situation it is a good bit)...but in 2 call situations the airave still doesn't eat as much bandwidth as wifi calling does in just one call. Two phones on airave making a call eats less bandwidth than 1 phone making a wifi call.
  23. So roughly it's 100+ kbps upload, and 100+kbps download to negotiate and keep an active call on wifi calling. 2 phones on wifi calling each calling their own voicemail didn't make any difference. Stayed at 100 +/- kbps... Now as for the quality of each call, I didn't have them trying to talk or listen to each...I sat them both down and made the calls, then checked my router activity via the above screen...which is "Access Control"
