  1. I wonder what happens if you were to activate a dumbphone on your line at home and walk into the store and get the upgrade now? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I must have lucked out and bought the only GNex that works just as good as any other phone. The wife has the RAZR MAXX, with its "awesome Motorola radios" and there have been very few times that she had better signal performance. There have been more times that the GNex had better service. I would classify the 2 as being on a level playing field. The wifi is slightly weaker on the GNex, but I can still connect outside through steel siding, so it isn't that bad. Maybe the Sprint version is worse... Or maybe if you expect the radios to perform poorly, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  3. That was bragging? Hmm. I took it as clarification so that the people who come here looking for information don't get confused. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  4. That's what happened. I was wondering how that got there.
  5. Maybe there will be separate floating cell sites for public service and commercial cell carriers.
  6. I have a picture of the floating cell site hooking to terrestrial backhaul.
  7. I think that the main priority of this would be for the band for emergency personnel. I would think having carriers on there would be a bonus...
  8. Sorry, SatCOLT http://www.flickr.co...hawk/213808225/
  9. There might be some value in an airborne cell receiver, but it would be overwhelmed easily, especially if it is used for a large city.
  10. Hmm, well I guess I stand corrected. I thought with careful planning and downtilt, cities like Cleveland would be fine.
  11. It's sad. I think it is strange when people don't get my Family Guy references, but Seinfield? No soup for you!
  12. Isn't Cleveland across lake Erie from Canada? And Seattle is a LONG way from the border. How far from the border do they have to worry about interference? Anyone know?
  13. Wouldn't a cell on wheels work in the situation you described? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  14. That's some boole sh.... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  15. Not for a long time. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  16. Ok, let's get back on topic here. Name calling and bickering are not in the spirit of this community. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  17. Hey, I'm at least a 3 or 4 hour drive from the border. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  18. There are apps like navigon, and maverick that use a predownloaded map file for what state you are traveling to. I posted a blurb about copilot here http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/271-copilot-app-gives-free-offline-maps-for-navigating-off-the-beaten-path/page__hl__navigation__fromsearch__1 which uses maps predownloaded to the phone.

    HTC vs Apple

Not sure if it was Apple or their own arrogance/ignorance that caused the "delay" as they should have made sure the shipments would go through before quoting release dates. Sprint/AT & T/T-Mobile can push all they want for an earlier release date, but HTC needs to know the supply chain better, and not get caught making promises they can't deliver on. 20. Only 1 true Boomer... He can throw a mean signal.
  21. ... You got me. I would assume it would, but you would have to have a lot of stuff on that balloon... Batteries or generator, fuel tank, sattellite receiver, cell panels etc. And most of the people on the ground will have dead batteries on their phones within days...
