-I already suffer from "What if".
-I immediately regretted giving back the Note 4.
Those two statements says it all.

Yup. And that's exactly why I returned the G4 this weekend. Friday was last straw. Battery was half dead after only 3 hours. And I barely got it to 11 hours by keeping it in my pocket all afternoon. I got my note 4. Battery life after 1 full day of use on Sunday has been stellar. Approaching nearly 24 hours since I took it off the charger and still have about 15% left.
The G4 was a beautiful device and felt great to hold but I couldn't live with having to tinker constantly to get a work days use out of it. Maybe a future software update will improve things, but I'm not interested in waiting for that.

In his situation, it's a tough decision. Give everything back AND pay more for the Note 4 may be tough to swallow, for some people.
Not for me. I average 5.5+ hrs of screen time. I bought a 10,000mah ZL battery, now it's just sitting in a box. Factor in root, custom roms, and the almighty Spen. It's an easy decision for me.
After you pick up the Note 4, get the 64gb Samsung Pro sd card. You'll definitely be set.
Get the Note 4. You won't think what if.......

True, but you miss out on the additional bands for the CCA roaming with the Note 4. The G4 supports additional bands. I do think the Note 4 is a solid device otherwise.
I already suffer from "What if". I actually did lease the Note 4 for about a week right before pre-orders started for the G4. I returned it because I wanted to try the G4. So I pre-ordered mine and went back to my old G2 until release day. I immediately regretted giving back the Note 4. My old G2 just felt like a toy afterwards. The G4 is a significant improvement over my old G2 and if I had never played with the Note 4 I probably would think it's a great phone and wouldn't think twice about keeping it. But since I did...

Not quite that easy. I'd have to give up the freebie microsd card from LG and the $100 gift card from best buy. Plus note is more expensive. Tough choice. 9 more days to decide.Get the Note 4

See, 4 days in and I'm only like averaging about 11 hours with light use. Right now I'm at 26% after 7:41 of use time. I've got about. T hours left. I'm thinking of doing a factory reset and seeing if anything improves. If it doesn't I may take this back and get a Note 4.it's OK. My g3 was better before the lollipop update. So this battery is OK. I get roughly 1 7 hours on a charge. I'm using it allot too

How's everyone else's battery life so far?

No Framily upgrades at Best Buy, Sprint took that away. You might have been able to preorder but when you go in you will have to switch to one of the new plans. Only Sprint Corp stores can touch Framily. Even if you do easy pay, doesn't make sense, I have Framily can't do anything at my Best Buy.
Must've been at your own local Best Buy. Mine did the upgrade just fine. No hassles. Bought the phone on Easy Pay and went about my day.

So Sprint has gotten approval on its network funding plan.
Sprint (NYSE: S) has received approval from parent company SoftBank to proceed with its massive network densification program, the carrier confirmed.
"Sprint has developed an approved network plan in partnership with SoftBank that will allow for a cost-effective network build on an accelerated timeline," Sprint spokeswoman Adrienne Norton told FierceWireless.

Only issue I have is whether to go with G4 or go with Note 4. I had Note 4 for about a week until pre-orders started for G4. So I went ahead and returned it. No I want to get G4 in my hands and decide whether to keep it or go back to Note.

Just try again. As with most things it just depends on who you get on the other end. I was leasing a note 4 and got the MSL on the first try.So I tried to get my msl code and they won't let me cause I'm leasing the phone. So if there is anyone out there that is not leasing it and has the code would you please share. Thanks.

Looks like Softcard became Android Pay, and Sprint is not a partner.
It was a curious thing in the announcement yesterday. Especially since Sprint was in on google wallet.

Got the phone today. So far i like it
Did you get the plastic back or leather?

The gift card doesn't come with the phone if you buy it full price does it? The dude at best by told me that's for upgrades only.
Here's the fine print on the gift card:
Only condition is really to pre-order and then purchase the phone. No mention of upgrades only.

Is the blue color a BBY exclusive? I'm seeing it for all carriers on the Best Buy site.
Wouldn't be surprised. Think everybody has grey backs as the non leather option.

Will have to stop at my best buy store tomorrow and double check. Don't really see why they wouldn't be able to.No Framily upgrades at Best Buy, Sprint took that away. You might have been able to preorder but when you go in you will have to switch to one of the new plans. Only Sprint Corp stores can touch Framily. Even if you do easy pay, doesn't make sense, I have Framily can't do anything at my Best Buy.

A word of warning to anyone trying to upgrade from Best Buy: They can't update you if you are on framily. You'd have to go to Sprint and change your plan and then upgrade through them, at least at my local Best Buy.
Were you trying to do a 2 year contract? I went in and put in my pre-order without any hassle. But i'm doing Easy Pay.

So Sprint says 16 rural partners have now launched LTE service. No company names divulged. Also, apparently 4 more partners have joined since the last announced update. So the total number of partners is up to 30.
A little more than half of Sprint's (NYSE: S) rural LTE roaming partners have launched LTE service, according to a Sprint spokeswoman, though it is unclear exactly which ones have done so.
Sprint spokeswoman Adrienne Norton told FierceWireless that as of today "16 carriers are operating 4G LTE service" but that because of confidentiality agreements Sprint cannot disclose which ones.
"Our partners use a variety of LTE bands, including bands 4, 5, 12 and 25," she said, in giving a status update on the program. "We're continuing to work with our device OEMs to enable additional LTE bands to expand coverage for our domestic and international roamers."

I didn't really like the idea of sprint not showing up to the 600 auction. That would be short sighted of them. Does sprint need addition low band spectrum? Yes, yes it does. Can sprint afford to let competitors gain access to addition low band spectrum while they don't? No, no the can't.
I don't think Sprint will actively sit out the auction, perhaps people reading too much into it?
I think it's that Sprint doesn't want to have to bid on it alone. The price of the most recent auction has probably scared them a little. They tried to get the FCC to approve a joint bid with T-Mo and I think are still trying to work out a joint bidding arrangement with the rural carriers. I think they would like to have 600 spectrum so long as they don't have to foot the entire bill.

I find it kind of interesting that the results are not skewed higher. I figured S4GRU would be on the higher end with most users above 5GB and quite a bit more in the 15 GB+ range. I won't be changing my plan but it does give me a bit of pause for next time I re-up.
I don't know about everybody else, but from my end I avg about 2 GBs a month. I have FIOS at home so I'm on wifi there. I also have wifi available at work. My phone only uses data while i'm commuting to and from work or walking at lunch time. I rarely stream video over the mobile network.

Haven't seen this pop up anywhere else yet, but I think we've all anticipated this coming.

We'll see if anything more comes of this.

The biggest win for me personally was to see 1.86% churn. Haven't seen it that low in a VERY long time.
It was good. Hope they can maintain sub 2%. At some point you end up rid of all the customers who could leave easily. Think they're getting down to customers who really are tied to sprint and who would find it very difficult to leave.
-
it's important to keep this all in context too, they have over 50 million customers, 200k losses accounts for 0.4% or less of their total customers..they're not hemmoraging customers like they were, and they're slowing and offsetting losses. postpaid adds will come with network improvements, they have so far.
The only reason it matters is that those phone customers are the highest revenue customers. They also tend to be stick around the longest because you have them on phone leases or Easy Pay. But the good thing is the trend-line is going in a positive direction. Slowly, but surely.

Unless I read the newsroom report wrong I see total net postpaid additions 211,000 with 41,000 loss for total of 170,000 (postpaid) additions.
That's pretty good...actually damn good for what Sprint has gone through.
That was the net postpaid amount. All of those were tablet additions. They lost 201,000 phone customers. That's a continued improvement from last year and earlier quarters.
-
Would still put sprint at 3rd overall. I was under the assumption this was supposedly the quarter sprint fell to 4th, and lost subscribers, not gained them
They're still losing phone customers. Basically their MVNOs and tablet sales are keeping them growing. It was good to see their churn % fall below 2. Might mean the worst of the phone losses might be behind them. But if they do want to hold onto #3 they will need to get that turned positive.

Asus AC68 is the base model. That's a very good router.
Now... how the hell to order it..
Very good router indeed. Bought one to replace an old airport extreme a few months back. Very good range and great throughput.

Honestly, the phone is a beautiful piece of hardware. I think it's problems were software related. The screen seemed to use up a lot of power when on. Then with the screen off the system software was just eating up the battery. Nothing I did made any difference. I did factory resets twice to see if something I installed was culprit.
With some software engineering to get power consumption down, it would be a spectacular phone.
