  1. I know you his won't be a popular thing to say but the Galaxy line of phones 1 and 2 did look like the iPhone. I'm not talking hardware but software wise. The way the icons looked and that row at the bottom. Standing from a few feet away in the dark even I would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Bottom line is Samsung arrogance caused this. As an example the iPhone icon for photos was a Sunflower and gave the reasons why they chose it. Basically they said it was arbitrary and some emotional crap. So what does Samsung use for an icon? I freaking Sunflower.. A icon that could have been anything in the world and they chose the same damn flower. What I think is Samsung thought the business relationship they have with Apple would keep them safe. They gambled and lost big. The dollar amount isn't what's important but the threat on the Android ecosystem is. Now precedent has been set for ridiculous software patents. I know people dog out HTC and Sense variations but it had a different look all together and Apple for the most part has stayed away.

  5. Ok so I'm actually at the site now and spoke to the guys.. I asked if they were working on Sprints site and they said no they were working AT&T at the top. This may be true but I'm not sure. They had the tower rigged not at the top but just above the bottom site. If I were still doing tower work that is where I would rig to pull panels to that bottom site. I also see thay there has been some digging at the site and red tape where something has been brought into the site (backhaul?) Ok now a AT&T guy showed up and the tower tech went to the top and rigged another line so maybe it is a AT&T site? Could AT&T be the backhaul guy.. At this point I'm not sure.. 6. Is it me or does every Fox website just look like ass. As big of a media company they are you think they could spend some money on website designers..
  7. The timely updates was cool until the Nexus with Sprint.. It took forever for that update to come. Is the Galaxy Nexus with Sprint have ICS or JB yet? The reason I chase hardware instead of software is because I know the community will get root and stock on my device which is what I really want.
  8. I'm so mad. I drove by again this afternoon to pick up the boy and they were still out there but again I was with my GF and running late. I'm almost positive it was the Sprint site they were working on. This is what I get for taking my vacation with her..Tomorrow I should have time to stop and ask the tower guys what they are working on.
  9. It's a good theory but I think it's flawed. The problem with the Nexus line is that it hasn't had an identity. The original idea was that Google would have a way to push its services without carrier interference. The problem with that was the US customer its not used to the non subsidy model. Then Google decided to abandon that and go the carrier route. The problem with that is they decided to do a stagger thing with the carriers and couldn't get the Nexus on the carriers at the same time. I think the issue now is the manufacturers have no incentive to compete with the Nexus because they are competing with themselves..HTC and Samsung have both made Nexus devices but with weak hardware compared to what they came out with months later. It's going to be interesting to see what Motorola does going forward. They may have said the Nexus line will be open to competition but that doesn't have to stop Motorola from making a device stock with kick ass hardware One other thing too since this is a Sprint related site. There is more than one way to gain customers besides pricing and network. This segment of customers who are dying for stock Android and faster updates are currently not being targeted in anyway by the carriers, and it's a way Sprint could exploit. How many customers could Sprint gain with unlocked bootloader and stock Android on board with timely updates? Think about all the XDA users they could tap. The developer community is large and loyal. Something to think about. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  10. Ok this is a Sprint site.. Not sure if I can post the Sprint Site number or not Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  11. Okay not to get anyone in the Tampa Market excited but I saw tower guys in my area this morning. I'm on my phone so I can't tell you if it's a Sprint site or not but it looks like the tower guys were a outfit out of Sarasota called New Tech I think. When I worked for Goff Communications I had heard of them. It was the first day of school here and I was in an area I would normally not be in, and I was with my girlfriend who unfortunately does not share my obsession with this thing we do but I will try to sneak away either later today or tomorrow to scope it out. The panels that were on the ground looked similar to the ones we have seen in the Homestead videos Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  12. Wow.. I can tell you that Sprint was actually not that bad here, then the iPhone showed up and my speeds crashed. HARD.. It was ok for a bit because I was using Wimax while I was at work and wifi at home. After getting the EVO LTE though the speeds here are terrible. I'm hoping I start to see some work over here soon.. It would be nice. There is so much in the area that I hope Florida in general gets plenty of love soon. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

  14. I'm a big fan of all Google products and today I was checking out my location history on my Google Dashboard. If you are not familiar with location history/Google Latitude, basically it shows all the places you and your phone have been through the hours, days, weeks, and months. As I watched the playback of my day it occurred to me that first of all I had not been in a good majority of the places it said I was, second I wondered what kind of tracking this does on my battery, and thirdly of the places I was clearly not even close too I wonder if my phone was connecting to towers that were near those places. The third point is the one that really has me thinking. I'm sure its not accurate to a pin point but I wonder if possibly the towers I am showing being near are the ones I am connected with and therefore suffer from poor reception and data speed?

    Florida lte

I've worked with guys that smoked worse than that of the towers..
  16. I hear you guys a lot talking about this and I have a basic understanding but could someone go a bit deeper on what it is and when it happens where do I see this on my phone that I am connected
  17. Its funny that we understand it but it would be best if Samsung did some work to explain it,maybe even show some examples where they have done it with televisons or other products. Never underestimate a jurys lack of intelligence
  18. I tried but I need a Facebook account
  19. Thanks for the info guys. I'll give them a call. I was acually hoping that on the website there was a place to report it. I guess I just wish that for a place I spend 9 hours a day the service was better. Its always been that way with me a Sprint though, always works between the places I really where I really need it..Sadness for me
  20. Spence where are you at? I'm here in Pinellas and waiting. On another thread there is take of work being done in SW Florida
  21. Honestly, Robert I'm not sure if its something else though. I actually think the coverage may be fine I wonder about downtilt or lack of. I just really wonder how 2 towers within a mile can be so lousy in this particular area.
