  1. Although most of us have probably given up hope, I did notice that with the new map updates the "Voice Coverage" no longer says "Off Network Roaming" it shows the different levels of expected signal strength like in a real Sprint market.
  2. There are some differences in the iOS 8 GM and the one released today. For example the shazam feature in Siri doesn't work on the GM build for some reason. And some apps seem to be "unhappy" with GM but happy with today's version. -Just tried again and I stand corrected. It does seem to be working. I read on Technobuffalo that it wasn't working and it didn't work the other day for me.
  3. The only down side to MVNO's is $600+ upfront for a phone is too hard to swallow. Even though phones like the Nexus 5 exist, that means you're either phone poor or chained to a Nexus type of device/mid-low tier phone.
  4. I keep Bluetooth on all the time for my car, it's easier to leave it on than to turn it on whenever I go out. And my experience running it since Tuesday is about the same. Not much difference better or worse. I've even went though almost every setting to try and optimize the usage as much as possible and not have it fetch or refresh things I don't need. I thought it may have been the "Raise to Speak" feature, but that seems to have been removed from the Siri panel?
  5. Crazy battery drain in iOS 8 GM. Unplugged around 11:00 because it was at 100%, locked it completely and then went to bed. When my alarm went off I was shocked to see 29%, apparently Siri ran all night long? Yes, I understand it's a beta, just pointing it out. Hope it's worked out by Wednesday.
  6. Sounds like between Beckley Charleston. There's absolutely no service between the tolls. I just went to Charleston Saturday on that route and didn't pick up any LTE... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. And to further elaborate on my response: never did I expect it to happen overnight. These deals have been in place since May for nTelos & June for many others. Many of them already have a network deployed on bands supported by Sprint phones.
  8. Networks such as nTelos are already deployed on band 2 LTE. Which is only a subset of band 25. Therefore, your comment was 50% troll & 50% lack of knowledge. Try reading the thread next time?
  9. http://www.cnet.com/news/sprint-extends-4g-footprint-through-additional-roaming-deals/ more carriers to the list of nothing. Sigh. If only there was some walk to this talk.
  10. Some of the best battery life I've ever gotten on my iPhone 5S.
  11. Only thing that would persuade me to move to AT&T is a One Plus One invite. But that is unlikely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Jumping ship to Verizon in May/June when my contract is over. I don't have $300 for an ETF. AT&T is coverage king in WV but that also means EVERYONE has them as a carrier and therefore data isn't the best. Maybe something will happen before then with nTelos but I'm not holding my breath. 13. Another carrier could easily meet plenty of our needs but, that would mean sacrificing unlimited data for a more expensive shared pool of data. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Pretty sure I lucked out. -65 signal with good speeds & a view of the tower itself! This is the first time I've been HAPPY with service in Myrtle Beach. Hope it continues to be useable when we go out.
  15. was looking at this tower and noticed this isn't a normal antenna. The tower has 2 normal NV antenna's on the other sides but this side has a wider squarish antenna. Only had my phone on me so that as good an image I could get. If I come this way again I'll be sure to take my DSLR. I'm also 99% certain there's an ALU RRU attached to it.
  16. I skimmed over the PDF. It basically just said their future goals were to expand their 4G network and to implement the SNA. No real exciting news as usual.
  17. Hopefully someone with a totally different way of thinking takes his place. Someone who thinks less about how cheap they can build the network and more about how good they can make it.
  18. Yes, that's good 3G. And what you referred to before as "not too shabby" really is just barely scraping by. A majority of the time I cannot use my phone on 3G. Twitter gives me connection error's Instagram just gives me blank boxes & circles, I wouldn't even attempt to use Vine over 3G. Spotify even struggles to stream at "Low" quality. Couple that with nTelos's pretty awful tower spacing & it really is more miserable than people outside of this area think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Apple needs to put "Tips" in the settings. They raved about how simple iOS is they don't need to further "simplify" it by adding a Tips app on the home screen. (Or to my extensive "Apple Trash" folder)
  20. I've seen a few screenshots and they weren't very impressive. Coverage wise I would assume below 3G coverage given the more fragile LTE signal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I wish switching to nTelos was as easy as it sounds, but their phone selection is sorta iffy. They don't get the new iPhone until at least a month following its release, it took them months to get the GS5, they never got the GS4, I don't believe the offer the ONE M8, no Nexus 5. I understand that you can flash some phones but that can be expensive & a hassle. So I'll just hold off on Sprint until it becomes more hopeless & I jump ship to Verizon (AT&T is far too crowded in West Virginia and half the time their LTE doesn't pass 1 or 2 Mbps. Verizon is consistently 20-50) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I would take this with a grain of salt, but last little chat I had with nTelos to get on their nerves, they kept telling me that their towers "haven't been upgraded for use on Sprint devices" I told her that the equipment already installed would function just fine and tower upgrades wouldn't be necessary but she just continued to dumb her way out and apologize without giving me an answer. It was very frustrating because she talked like she had no clue what she was talking about or being asked. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. 3G in Beckley only seems to get worse...... There are times I hit 1.5-2mbps but a majority of the time it sits around .5mbps down & .6 up. ): Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
