  1. I compared my GS3 that is now on 4.4 to my girlfriend's GS3 that still on stock 4.3 and my LTE signal was at least -3dB stronger overall.  I'm not running the ND8 baseband build, I'm on the NDC baseband.  I have noticed on 4.4 the signal bars indicate your data connection on both 3G and LTE.  Its been 24hrs since my phone updated and still pleased with the update  :)

  2. I am enjoying the new 4.4.2 KitKat update that was ready to be installed this morning, seems like the LTE is more stable now in the 4.4 build than in 4.3.  I didn't get the ND8 update, I got the OTA NDC update, I don't know if there is anything different between the two.

  3. Samsung must have listened to you Mike!  I'm loving the 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade along with the 3.4 kernal that was ready to be installed this morning, my GS3 has new life. :)   I do have a question regarding the GCI, what is it, and why will it not let me add site notes to the LTE side (it would help me very much)?  Also it in the screenshot below the PLMN ID is "Unknown 3100."

  4. It should be available on Google Play within the hour. It includes all of the pertinent updates that Pro users received between January and April, including bugfixes, Sprint B26/B41 identification, and enhanced WiFi information.

The full changelog is online here: http://www.bluelinepc.com/signalcheck/change-log/

Mike, you should change "SignalCheck Lite" to "SignalCheck Limited,"  I bet you would see an increase in purchases for the "Pro" version. :P

Can't wait to see what you have in store in the coming months for SignalCheck Pro.

  5. I wonder if you would think the same if you had boost or virgin. I had virgin mobile for a while because that is what my job, and my credit allowed me to have. Discriminating against customers who have it because they either want to, or have too, is unfair. Of course it works for verizon. Verizon and ATT can do whatever they want, almost all the time.

Also, if they were all running on our 3g network only then would that not bog down our 3g to nearly unusable speeds even after network vision? Much better to have it distributed.

I left Sprint for Virgin Mobile because I was paying over $70 a month for only talking for an average of 150 mins a month and using only 1GB of data monthly.  When my contract was up with Sprint I had it cancelled and the nice Sprint CSR told me about Virgin Mobile with the plans starting at $35 a month, I ended up buying the Galaxy S3 through them and have the $35 auto deducted from my checking account every month, I get the same great service using the same amount of minutes on average and my data still hovers around 1GB a month, only draw back is no roaming but Sprint coverage is excellent around here.

  6. I don't understand people's worry for Sprint from this announcement. We all know how fast Sprint's Spark does go and how fast it will go. By year end, Sprint might even be passing Verizon's 20x20 network speeds in many areas.

Totally agree with you, I've watched YouTube videos of people testing Sprint Spark and everyone that has tested it has been very pleased with the speeds they are getting.  Heck, I'm pleased with Band 25 running at a constant 13Mbps whether its during the daytime or peak afternoon hours.

  7. Yea that is the debate i have. With KK does SCP report the GCI & PCI now?

No clue, I haven't taken the ND8 update yet even though every morning my phone tells me to update.  If your wanting to know the PCI and TAC you can dial *#0011# from the dialer which will give you LTE info goodies.

  8. I guess your playing a game of Russian roulette when taking the ND8 update.  Some users are reporting the exact opposite and are hanging on to LTE in places where they use to not have it as well as a stronger 3G/voice connection.

It almost sounds as if Samsung adjusted the scan times for LTE as well as made adjustments to hand back off to eHRPD/EV-DO when your in fringe areas of LTE to save battery life.

  9. I barely use 2GB on my phone over 4G/3G when I'm out and about, when I'm home I use my WiFi connection to browse the internet, steam music, etc.  I like Sprint's connection optimizer as it automatically switches me over to my WiFi when I get in range of the signal, just set it up and forget about it.

You try going into settings - applications - all applications - and force stopping it?

  11. I grabbed some screenshots of the new BSL that changed yesterday afternoon.  Today my phone has been sitting on 1x RTT and flip flopping back and forth to eHRPD which started around 9 A.M.  BID 53282 use to be 701-799 Fairview St. Bristol, and BID 53377 use to be 117 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol.

Also found a site a few days ago that is now broadcasting 800 out towards South Holston Lake, I must say its hard to hide from 800 once its latches on to it, this was on my stock PRL.

  12. Cool news then. I never saw any address change in my neck of the woods. How do the maps look in your area? Are they still not accepted, or not fully accepted (like 3g only or 4g only etc)

    Sent from my HTC M8

2 sites are 3G completed, 1 is/was legacy, and the last is 3G/4G accepted but lacking LTE integration.  And its these four sites that are showing new BSL addresses.

  13. Like Mike said, or, you are connecting to different towers entirely. As work goes on, Towers may come on and offline sporadically, giving you new locations because it's literally a different tower. If your original ones return, thats likely the case. I saw it a lot.

How does the rest of the information stack up? Sector information change at all?

Basestation IDs (BID) haven't changed, the only thing that has changed is the offset addresses.  Also 3G signals have dropped significantly in the last few days as well.

  14. If the BSL for a site you know you've connected to in the past has changed, and you didn't clear your BSL cache, then Sprint has changed the coordinates that site is broadcasting. The app only caches coordinate/address pairs, so if a site's location ever changes, the app displays the new address immediately. Sites around here broadcast offset BSLs, and during the upgrade process, many of the addresses changed slightly.

So.. it's a good thing--they are out there working!

    -Mike

Yippie, thats what I figured I haven't cleared the cache, they changed today around 2 PM.  Four sites that sit in the middle of town are now showing new BSLs.  Its the same way here Mike, they offset the location by about 1/2 mile here, I think they are about cluster launch LTE to the rest of the sites here in town.
