I feel like there are a lot of Dish sites around here. New sites/locations with just one antenna per sector. Looking at that list of cities, mine is on the list so it makes sense.
I am assuming that Dish will be roaming on AT&T when out of coverage? I'd love to ride on the Dish network but I need coverage with my job. I'm actually going to try out Boost Mobile in a couple months due to the lack of TMobile coverage.

I also got yet another email to beta Genesis, but did not seem restricted to Las Vegas. Asked questions like what you are into and if you have been part of betas before that need feedback.

    Link?

HSPA is still live here in KY and Nashville, TN. I'm surprised they're waiting this long to shut it off with how much communication they were sending my aunt who had some phones that needed to be updated. I'm sure there's some people that took the wait and see approach to see if their phone really would stop working on Feb 22nd that will now be caught off guard down the road when they finally do shut it down. My uncle was going to go that route but he ended up getting a newer Samsung, (A32 5G I think?) AT&T had sent him a Fusion Z as a free replacement and it was a pile of crap, which is why he was originally going to wait it out and see if his old phone still worked on the 23rd. We ended up using the Fusion Z to replace my grandma's cracked S7 which also supposedly wouldn't work once HSPA was shut off. The phone is so slow and clunky that even she is asking to get a better phone now lol. And yes they are going to go get her the same phone my uncle got and put the Fusion Z out of its misery.

Also, I had an interesting experience down in Nashville Friday night. Out on Broadway AT&T and Verizon have small cells everywhere but no one in my group could get data to work on any carrier. T-Mobile had 100+ on download thanks to N41 @ 100MHz but kept failing on upload which is why nothing worked. My AT&T phone had great signal (we were actually standing again a pole with a SC on it) but again nothing would load and speed tests wouldn't even start. Not sure if whoever provides backhaul for all the small cells had a hiccup or what. Seemed to affect both Verizon and AT&T small cells though not just one carrier. SCP did confirm I was connected to multiple small cells during the experience. We were trying to find a place they wanted to go to off the strip and trying to figure out if we could walk or needed to Uber. Ended up walking just over a mile in sleet and snow but we made it, by the time we got far enough to get working data were were halfway there so we figured what the heck and walked the rest of the way there.

Still seeing AT&T HPSA+ here as well, although changing the network type to wcdma only gave temporary results. Had to turn off all LTE to fully force it this time.

Interesting that even the 100Mhz of n41 failed to have decent upload. How far were you from its site? Wondering if n71 upload will be able to help just at a distance or will be required for the entire cell range.  n41 upload at 100MHz should be at least 5x what Sprint could offer for band 41 LTE, plus supposedly they can temporarily shorten the download time frame to boost upload but not certain this was ever implemented.

On the small cell performance, I wonder if there are still lingering issues from the van? bombing a while back in downtown Nashville.  Was there any sort of festival occuring?

So am I missing something with why All N77 capable phones arent able to use the new "Andromeda" spectrum? As far As what I could tell is the new ATT spectrum should be available to use as N77, but ATT seems to ensue that N77 phones wont work with it. Is there a specific band thats used for it?

They don't want to pay for going back and getting those devices "approved" for N77 and software updates.

There is also n78. Even the Samsung Galaxy A32 5g has both.

You would think they thought they owned the data waves..

Why else would they throttle apps?? Unless it was to cut down on data usage.

I think it is for battery use. Of course ever since I almost got kicked off of planes because of the exploding Note 7 batteries, user replaceable batteries were eliminated, else you could simply get extended life batteries.

This. I just upgraded to the Oneplus 9 Pro 5G and the experience was about as suboptimal as possible for everyone involved.

1.) The Sprint Warehouse ran out of this phone so long ago it's completely deleted from the Sprint web store. This meant the only way to buy it was in store, which means I got to pay the $30 fee for the privilege of transferring all my data at an inconvenient time.

2.) The Sprint tablet they use was buggy on the trade in, so the very nice girl had to go over to the register to enter the IMEI of the of the turn in device for credits. Also, the virtual Sprint register wouldn't print receipts properly, so the girl had to make sure I was ok with email only.

3.) On the the Sprint biller (unlike the T-Mobile biller) credits go away if you pay off early, so I'm rather stuck until the migration. I also note the Sprint biller is only partially aware what this phone is (no photo, inconsistently named in the web UI, and "Tablet-MBB Global Data Service" is offered as an add on)

4.) They probably could get more revenue from me after the migration; I'd gladly upgrade to Max if my line discounts (from old Framily) transfer over like they are doing for old T-Mobile plans...

I think if we keeping exchanging notes we should be able to determine what factors deter who gets converted first. Then we can make adjustments to speed up our individual prospects.

I went the route of going to Sprint Max for the network priority. Previously was on ed1500 with high priority and awesome roaming.  The roaming deteriorated then was being throttled.

Did get a "free" line then 4 "free" phones. They seem to have great difficulty understanding Sprint money = T-Mobile money in terms of how "free" phones are handled for billing conversions. Your right, I would at least shift phones around. I have a s21 ultra sitting on Verizon because of this mess

Let's say absolute worse case, T-Mobile doesn't win ANY spectrum in that auction.  Would we lose our current 100Mhz N41 channel?  Or how much of a second n41 channel would they be able to use?

From the auction, nothing should change. However, there are some slivers of spectrum in some metro areas that may be up for auction.  There could also be some areas that lie outside of the radius that could be bought.

The biggest risk is when leases expire.

On the plus side is any spectrum wins could be implemented almost immediately after results are accepted.  For T-Mobile it would be a few settings (and more fiber bandwidth to support it.)

Sounds like a change for the better. Probably a long time coming.

My hope is they will final get moving on converting Sprint billing to T-Mobile. Banks often hire consulting firms to do this with tight deadlines.

Having just one billing system would cleanup the entire sales side making new approaches/structures possible.  The focus of store personnel could final shift back to bringing in new customers and solving regular customer issues rather than old Sprint quirks.

LightReading got to test Dish's network in Las Vegas. https://www.lightreading.com/the-edge/the-time-i-visited-dish-5g-cell-site/a/d-id/775576?

The use of band 70 will be the issue right now for them.  Not on the Samsung A32 5g. Their customer base needs cheap phones.

Verizon is the opposite.  The Samsung A32 5g supports n77 for C-band, but Verizon does not at this time.  Probably dilutes their expensive image, ie you only get a good network if you spend a lot of money (I am sure they say this more elegantly lol.)
