Sorry, Oct 29th (http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-expands-lte-coverage-map-and-turns-on-more-4g-lte-markets.htm) So a month and a half, if you want to get technical.
A month, a month and a half, it's all the same thing

Here is what I posted in one of the threads in the Apple/iPhone/iOS section:
I have tried to update today also, because it seems that 60657 also doesn't allow roaming, considering I'm at school where I always get 5 bars of Extended 1x/3G on my iPhone 5 but right now I am currently getting "No Service" and "Searching" constantly
Kind of frustrated that I can only receive iMessages and can't receive any texts do to having no roaming capability for what I assume is this prl's fault. Hopefully Sprint will get this fixed.

In the "Current Sprint PRLs" thread in General topics, digiblur says that it sounds like it may be a legacy non-LTE prl, and I think it's safe to assume that it may be a mix-up on Sprints end. I doubt they would purposely force us off of LTE, because I see no benefit to Sprint in that. This is ridiculous. They need to fix this. Why would they force us off LTE?
-
I'm also on that PRL on my iPhone 5 and I'm not getting LTE anymore either. Must be like digiblur said and it's just a legacy non-LTE PRL.This also happened to me for both my iPhone 5s & my sister's iPhone 5. Neither of them even scan for LTE anymore.

Excellent point. I'm not sure why I assumed he had an iPhone 5S when he said he had it jailbroken. No matter what software changes you make to the 5, you can't enable band 26 because it lacks the radios. If you are using an iPhone 5, no matter what you try, there is no possible way to activate Band 26 LTE. The hardware isn't there in the phone. And if you have a 5S jailbroke, it'd be a miracle.

I can access the carrier bundle and change a bunch if info there's a list with a bunch of band # and there toggled off but I can toggle them on I turned it on lets see if it works when ever we get lte 800

Well I applaud your adventurousness... sure, that's a word lol. Make sure to report back what your results are

The iPhone 5 can only access Band 25 LTE on Sprint's PCS 1900 MHz frequency. The only iPhones that can access Band 26 LTE on Sprint's 800 MHz fequency are the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. However, the iPhone 5 CAN access CDMA 800, also known as 1xAdvanced 800, which is for Voice and Text, and very, very little data (Just in case you didn't know ).

And streaming video is not always throttled with unlimited for life customers. Only when needed to preserve network performance. However, it seems some heavy streaming users may be getting flagged and always have throttled streaming video.
Yeah that makes sense, when I'm getting throttled it only happens when I'm in a big city with a lot of people using the network. 1 Mbps is good enough
-
Reopening this old thread of mine. Was reading that Sprint now may limit video streaming to 1mbps and I read on some other forums that they have always been doing this. It certainly seems that way based on my experiences.
I seem to of experienced this, considering I can get 15+ Mbps down on a speedtest, yet my video plays in 240p or 144p on Youtube. Sprint is only doing it on the new Unlimited My Way and All-In plans I believe.

They also tell you the LTE band you're on:Not really. The engineering screens for iPhone and some 3GPP only (i.e. AT&T and T-Mobile) Samsung handsets include an LTE carrier bandwidth field. But that is about it. Otherwise, you need a spectrum analyzer.

And it's humor like that that makes my day better every time I log on this siteEricsson is going to be busy swapping 800smr RRUs in the spring due to them freezing over during the winter since they don't use them.

Well dang!! That is not bad at all from being 2 miles away from a tower through a ton of trees and hills! Way to go Sprint!!

Very interesting! Glad to see the FCC looking out for the smaller carriers!

I sure hope they do! I've got one about 3/4 of a mile from my house, and my sister got pretty decent WIMAX on her Evo Shift 4G. Right now i get decent 3G and very fringe LTE on my iPhone 5 from a tower that is about 2 1/2 miles from my house. It would be amazing to get LTE throughout my neighborhood and at my friends' houses.Anyone know if Sprint will add LTE 1900 to Clear sites? I have a WIMAX tower right behind my workplace and it would so nice to have a very strong signal. When I had my EVO 4g I got WIMAX even way down in the basement.

About two weeks ago, my local site was off the air all day. It gives me a -85 to -86 signal on 800. When I noticed this site was dead, I looked at what I was then connected too. Surprisingly I found that two other sites were dropping a good 800 signal in my area. Both were giving me a -87 to -88 signal. Eventually my normal site was back on the air. I have absolutely no trouble with the 800 signal normally or when the preferred site happened to be off the air. Having 3 signals coming at me from different directions all with almost the same level is working well. I actually am fairly sure I even have a fourth site available to me too.
On the old legacy system, only one site was really usable and it was not reliable. Normally had a -103 to -105 signal. Activating 800 on all the sites near me gave me a signal from all of them. I was lucky, I was in the middle of several sites. Great improvement in service for me. Not everybody will have this experience.
Now if only Charlotte can start getting some 1x 800 love, along with the iPhone being opened up to it

No, I would nationalize the whole freaking infrastructure. Like roads and highways, broadband should be public works. Cut out the asshat profiteering capitalists with their anti competitive practices. Let them all compete fairly by buying capacity over the top on the public network.
PREACH, AJ, PREACH!

I too am thankful for the inteligence of the staff and the members! Unfortunately, I can't take advantage of the special Premier Sponsor Black Friday deal, but I hope to reach Premier status one day! Happy Thanksgiving AJ, and to all the S4GRU staff and members!

Well, for Sprint purposes, we have to narrow the discussion to the ESMR portion of SMR 800 MHz. And no other licensee holds anything remotely close to nationwide ESMR. It is all just little bits and pieces here and there.
AJ
Maybe Sprint could buy up the bits and peices from the different companies that have it? Or at least try to buy it in the areas that Sprint is only gonna be able to put up 3x3 800 LTE?
-
So, not sure if it has been asked or has been said, but do we know who else owns 800 MHz spectrum nationwide in the US, and if Sprint could possibly purchase some of that spectrum?

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2013/11/25/why-sprints-terrible-service-doesnt-matter.aspx
Found an article while looking at Sprint's stock quote on CNN. The article actually doesn't completely bash Sprint, and they recognize the potential that Sprint has to be the best network in the US in the next few years. Pretty interesting read (even though its not like all of us on this site didn't already know about everything that is written in the article).

Soooo, is this 1x800? From the looks of it, I'm connected to a tower from verrrryyy far away. Got this with 0 bars of Signal, which is very weird. I usually get 5 bars of Extended service where I'm at, but the recent prl update for iPhones has disabled roaming for whatever reason.
