  1. I also ordered 2 from Sprint. One of my orders lists the device on order as "LGD82016KT - LG D820 16GB LTE DEVICE." The other is "LGD82016K1 - LG D820 16GB XCVR SGL." A Sprint order support person said they're the same, but it's still a bit disconcerting. Anyway, it's not looking so great for delivery by Friday. The LG G2 people at least have a status of in warehouse
  2. Gizmodo thinks the camera is ok, depending on the settings, but they seemed to have better luck with the battery...
  3. That may be true, but Google admitted there's a problem...
  4. The Verge review is out. The battery and camera both appear weak, but Google's claiming the camera will be improved in an update (like the Moto X?). Trusted Reviews gives it a higher rating with similar complaints. In other news, has anyone who pre-ordered from Sprint gotten shipping notification yet? We're supposed to have them by Friday...
  5. Did you forget the link? http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/1/5054944/nexus-5-vs-lg-g2-in-pictures Also, http://www.anandtech.com/show/7471/google-announces-the-nexus-5
  6. This is pretty awesome. More details here.
  7. Not sure if it does it the same way as the MotoX, but... Source
  8. The reason I'm not a fan of wireless charging is there's a lot of waste heat, which is not good for the long-term health of the battery. Since the battery in the N5 is not removable, keeping the battery healthy over the long-run is going to be important.
  9. I got the same bizarre call around 7am. Not sure why it was necessary since they asked for info I'd already given them on the preorder page... Also, what premium, aside from re-upping your contract? Did they tell you the first batch would be shipping soon? My order status still says they'll try to have them to us by the 8th and I must have been one of the very first people to preorder from Sprint.
  10. Whoa... something like $55, but store credit only, right?. Good call.
  11. I have the same phone but I'm not expecting more than $15. Better to keep it as a backup.
  12. Wait, going through my account, I'm able to upgrade without changing plans!
  13. Sprint Preorder is up... but it's forcing me to switch to one of the new My Way plans... [Edit: Ignore this and the screenshot below. You need to upgrade by starting in your account. If you take the wrong route you'll see the screen below and it'll try to force you onto the new plans.] Damn.
  14. To take your points one at a time... 2300mAh, not 2200. The 8Mp camera is "the same LG Innotek module with OIS from the G2, it just has an 8 MP CMOS behind it." 4.95" is just about the maximum size a phone can be before it becomes a tablet. Sprint press release heading: Sleek, powerful new LG tri-band capable device featuring Android 4.4 will allow users to take advantage of Sprint Spark technology for improved 4G LTE speed and capacity. A bit later on... "Nexus 5 by LG is the first Androidâ„¢ 4.4, KitKat, smartphone capable of using the tri-band Sprint 4G LTE2 network." Where is the "fail"? If you're gonna criticize, at least do it with some accuracy...
  15. But you didn't pre-order, correct? That's what I'm trying to figure out - if pre-ordering requires a change in plans.
  16. Generally they won't make you change plans when renewing a contract. Not sure about what they do when pre-ordering though; that's what I'm trying to find out.
  17. Question to those we pre-ordered the G2 online: were you able to retain your old (pre-My-Way) plans?
  18. True... Has anyone done a pre-order since the new plans came out? G2 maybe?
  19. Cool - were you able to retain your old plan or did you have to switch to one of the new ones? It sounds like you had it shipped to you - not picked up at a store, correct?
  20. Question for those who have pre-ordered devices from Sprint before: Are you better off ordering online (i.e. via www.sprint.com/nexus5), or being first on a list at a corporate store? Which one will have it actually on sale first and does one method include charges the other does not? Also, if you do a preorder online, can you retain your old plan and not upgrade to the MyWay plans?
  21. My thoughts exactly. Camera phones should not be compared to real cameras and they will never achieve parity, so I'm not sure why people expect so much out of them.
  22. Not one mention of it anywhere, so I'm gonna say no.
  23. The Verge is saying the camera is pretty much... not good. Go to around 31:30. Not something I care about, but there it is.
