  1. I too have an M9 and have experienced the same thing. It doesn't happen on EVERY tower handoff but I have notice it happen very often lately. I haven't been able to notice a trend yet tho in regards to if the issue is when handing off from 1 band to another while on the phone, or moving from my Shentel Market (York, PA) to a Central PA Sprint Market (Lancaster, PA). I have had my call drop a few times about a minute or 2 after crossing the susquehanna river going into Lancaster county, so I'm not sure if that would be what's causing it.
  2. I have noticed that it switches between LTE and 3G a little more often than my M8 did but still waaaayyyy better than the old Evo LTE so I got not complaints about that just yet. Not nearly as good as the Nexus 6 I had for a few days tho, that thing almost never dropped down to 3G. What I have noticed is that after ending a phone call, it does take significantly longer to reconnect to data. Not sure if it's just mine or if a radio update is needed for this phone. Also the battery life was absolutely horrendous on this phone for the first 4 days or so but I guess the rom finally settled down or something because now battery life is much better. Comparable to if not better than my M8 after the lollipop update.
  3. So I have officially decided that I'm exchanging my Nexus 6 for the M9 on Sunday morning. I can't wait!!
  4. Haha yeah I figured I would adapt to the size. I'm much more accustomed to it now than I was when I first took it out of the box. But I didn't know how bad the front facing camera was, that it's exponentially worse than my previous M8. So I expect the ultrapixel camera to be a major upgrade over this. Also I saw and held the Gunmetal M9 at the store the other day, and while the Nexus 6 is a nicely built phone, the metal body of the M9 is just unparalleled in my opinion, along the smaller size felt much better in hand compared to this N6
  5. Yes I've read it. A new software update came out roughly 5 days ago, and I'm still waiting to see what improvements were included and what changes users are seeing. If you have the new update and would care to share that would be awesome. I upgraded to a Nexus 6 last week, and I'm rapidly approaching the end of my 14 day period for me to decide whether I want to get the M9 instead or keep this. Any feedback would be cool. Honestly my biggest factor for wanting to switch is the Front facing Ultra Pixel camera on the M9. The Front cam on the Nexus 6 is garbage and my Snapchat game is being heavily affected
  6. Initial impressions must not be very good, since nobody in here is talking about their experience with the M9.
  7. Any noticeable improvements from this latest update so far? My biggest concern is battery life with the Snapdragon 810.
  8. Really looking forward to seeing people's experience with this phone. I wanted to get the M9 but I'm really concerned with the Snapdragon 810 and I've been heavily considering getting the Nexus 6 instead.
  9. Best of luck to you brave souls! I can't wait to hear of your experiences. My line is eligible for annual upgrade through Easy Pay on April 1st, so depending on what I see and here between now and then, I could either make a decision or keep waiting. Also, should this thread still be called the "M9 Rumor Thread" if the phone is announced? Not really a rumor at this point anymore. Bring on the HTC One M9 User Thread!
  10. I am on the exact same boat. I want to see how the SoC and Camera situation pans out over a couple more software updates.
  11. Again, I know they have said it is a regression from the M8. What I'm saying is that the display is still great and near the top in the smartphone realm despite the fact that it went backwards and is far from being a bad display. The display itself is getting a "bad rating" because the display is a step backwards from the M8, not because the display itself is bad. It's akin to many people thinking the M9's design is bland because it's so similar to the M8, but that does not change the fact that it is still one the best designed phones around. They just speak about it negatively because they didn't change it as much as people hoped. I'm sure the M9 is still a fantastic device and everything comes down to your perception of what people are saying about it.
  12. While they say that the display may be a slight downgrade from the M8's screen, it is far from being an "issue". It's still one of the best displays out there, still looks great, and still got a 10/10 rating on the Verge review.
  13. I'm not really in the modding scene for android but I thought it was considered that Snapdragon SoCs is what you wanted to have in your phone in terms of modding, and that Samsung's Exynos chips were far from friendly in that regard. Not exactly sure how the modding community varies between Snapdragon and Exynos versions of like the Note 4 for example.
  14. Yet I wouldn't be surprised if in terms of responsiveness, the M9 were the faster device. Samsung has apparently really pared back the UI in the S6 so I am excited to see how much better Touchwiz is now.
  15. Fret not my good sir. The rumors of the Snapdragon 810's demise have been greatly exaggerated. http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_mwc_2015-review-1215p3.php A small section from the hands on preview: "First up, we have the raw CPU performance test with GeekBench 3, so things should be pretty straight-forward in this department. Naturally, we expected to see the HTC One M9 at the top of this list, along with the LG G Flex 2, due to the identical hardware, but the HTC does seem to perform better. While testing the LG Flex2, we did notice that under load the phone tends to heat up quite noticeably. We were definitely happy to see that HTC One M9 had no problems in this department and squeezed even more juice of the more than capable Snapdragon 810 putting the debate over the thermal performance of Qualcomm's latest silicone to rest."
  16. My mom loves that place! I've heard nothing but rave reviews but I've never been. I'm gonna have to go see what all the fuss is about
  17. I wouldn't look too much into it. These "official" renders are pulled from a german website and are probably just placeholder images. If you go to Spigen's website, they have a VERY different representation of what the M9 looks like in their product pre-order pages. http://www.spigen.com/brands/htc/htc-one-m9.html So I've officially stopped looking into the design of the M9 and I'm just gonna patiently wait for Sunday morning.
  18. That's awesome A2CKilla! Where did you pick that up? Is that also in Lancaster?
  19. Lancaster is actually part of the Central PA market, not Philly Market.
  20. Wow I'm sorry to hear that, It sounds like a terrible stroke of bad luck. I've been running this update since Wednesday morning and I'm not noticing any of those issues. My phone runs smoother than before and standby battery life has improved a great deal. However I have noticed that when I'm home and connected to WI-FI, every few minutes my WiFi will disconnect for a second and reconnect for no reason. It's a bit annoying but it hasn't caused any interruptions in my usage so it's not too bad.
  21. The only way around it that I can find is to go into the General settings > Sound & Notification > scroll all the way down and under "When Device is Locked" set that to "Don't show notifications at all". Granted you won't see text messages or anything else on the lock screen, but you also no longer have the SignalCheck bar. Another downside to that option is that you can't see your signal strength at all on when you turn your display on and you HAVE to unlock your device before you can see signal check in the notification bar. It's either that or not have signal check pro run in the status bar at all.
  22. It's going slow as molasses for me so I canceled it and I have mustered enough patience to.... set an alarm for 1 am so that I can try to download it again later. Good luck guys
  23. Alright boys it's happening!!! We got Technical Acceptance today and the OTA should be rolling out tonight. https://twitter.com/moversi/status/565234144649572353
  24. Lol then you must not be paying attention Robert I can tell them apart instantly. You can't compare that to the Galaxy S3-5, those were more like iPhones 4-5S
  25. I'm hard pressed getting over 2.5-3mbps in a lot of York, PA. At my home I've consistently been getting 1.5-2 mbps for months now. Doesn't bother me too much since I have 125 mbps Comcast Blast internet at home so WiFi will always get the nod, but it's a bit annoying when I'm out and about. Instagram takes really long to load videos, and I'm always afraid to even attempt to show my friends a Youtube video in case it stops to buffer every 10 seconds.
