Well I can't wait until I flash 5.1 just waiting for a Dev on XDA to release a stock rooted 5.1 ROM with no force encryption. Also I promise battery life is just soooooo much better. I went to sleep for 6 hours and it only drained by 1%. I had to do a double take when I seen it. On screen time is vastly improved as well.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully the new radio will solve the issue I have in certain areas. Sometimes when connected to LTE my phone hangs at dialing when trying to place a call. Also I miss incoming calls because of this too.No its not. Band 25 if anything is stronger. I thought band 26 was weaker and it still may be the case but only by like -2dbm. It switches to band 25 better and only band 26 if needed. Band 26 in Ocala is really congested so I was getting aggravated that I had to stay on it even when it was unusable. Now with the triumphant return of the engineering screen and debug menu I can just disable band 26 if need be but it switches so much better that I don't have too. Also LTE speed tests are faster now too. Did some on the nexus 5 also. But with band 12 now on T-Mobile and volte working like a champ on the nexus 6. I may be considering letting sprint go. $30 T-Mobile plan + volte + band 12 = win. I would be thinking different if band 41 magically showed up though. Voice on this thing is amazing also even better with the update. Gotta love signals like this.

Is that new radio really crappy on Sprint?Turned on band 12. Put my T-Mobile sim card in and presto!
-
I'm not sure. Maybe Robert can chime in on this.Is it common for the PCI not to match the PCI for band 25/26?
-
When its optimized you will see near LTE 1900 range on Band 41.Its definitely not optimized. The coverage is only around half a mile

I went to the Monster Jam last night and all I can say is Sprints service was amazing. Band 25/26 is slow as expected but band 41 worked flawlessly. My wife's iPhone 5s struggled to load webpages and Instagram while I was able to watch YouTube on band 41 with the Nexus 6. Last time I was at the stadium with my EVO 3D (You can tell it was long ago) I would roam on Verizon in the stadium. I'm glad to see Sprint turned things around.

I haven't noticed anything but I've been out in Clay county all day.Anybody experiencing major data and voice issue in Jax?
Having issues with no data and in/out 1xRTT on all towers in Jax. This is also happening for other Sprint sub's that I know. Seems to be an issue in Tampa as well.

2 Lines on a maxed out Framily. Unlimited data on both lines. After taxes, 25% corporate discount and TEP. $116

That Blanding and college site is fully optimized and broadcasts really far to be in the 2.6ghz frequency.I was able to grab band 41 coming down Blanding until I turned onto Old Jennigs heading west, then it switch to band 25.
Band 41 was at 121 RSRP. When it switched to Band 25 it was 102 RSRP, then stayed on 25 when I pulled into my driveway with a strength of 123 RSRP.

Maybe Samsung is loading up on patents because Samsung is wanting to go main stream with Tizen on their Galaxy devices.

I'd imagine that they would try to acquire nationwide 5x5mhz and it would be used for LTE only being that voLTE is starting to become mainstream. Also the 600mhz spectrum is going to be really expensive so I don't see Sprint buying much when they have loads of 2.5ghz spectrum. So any ideas or theories on how much spectrum sprint will try for in the auctions? im hoping for at least 25MHz so they can do 1xA on 2x 1.5 carriers and a 2x 5x5MHz LTE carriers ( 1 10x10 would be nice to)

Do any of you Nexus 6 users have issues placing calls in certain locations?
I have two places where I have to switch my phone to 3g mode to send and receive calls. It happens like every other day in these select locations.
-
That's he same area where I would drop LTE with my Nexus 5 when driving to and from Orlando.Yes - on my commute to work today I dropped to 3G and it's along that stretch of i95 where the construction is between CR-210 exit and Old St Augustine Rd. It's the only spot I drop to 3G on the route I go to work.

I started having these same issues with the Nexus 5 when I upgraded to the newer radios to have access to band 41. With the Nexus 6 in a mature market I don't see anyone having the 3g drop back issues.I had a Nexus 5 on the Sprint network here in Atlanta and it absolutely drove me bonkers. In areas where there was a very strong b25 signal it would kick me back to 3g very, very often. It was ridiculous. So I had it replaced with another n5. Same problem. I switched to the one m8 and I rarely ever fall to 3G, like anywhere, including those same areas where my n5 would invariably be parked on 3G. That said, I am definitely upgrading to the nexus 6 as the m8 - despite its relative RF prowess - has never really impressed me.

I made the switch about two weeks ago. The radio performance is much better. It hangs on to b41 and b26 much better than the nexus 5. With the Nexus 6 I'm on 3g a lot less than with the nexus 5. The LTE scan time is faster than on the Nexus 5 scanning more frequently which means your on 3g less. The battery lasts double if not triple the amount of time as the Nexus 5. If you make the jump to the Nexus 6 you will not regret it.Anyone here jump from the nexus 5? If so how is data performance compared to the nexus 5? I'm constantly on 3g with my nexus 5 in a city where Sprint is really focused on and would switch in a heartbeat if the new nexus held onto a lte signal better. Thanks.

It's been pretty quiet in this thread lately. How's everyone liking Sprint Jacksonville in 2015?
-
The subcontractors that worked on that site needs to be fired.Yes they did. That's why its taken them over a month to finish the new ruus
-
Dang dude. They drop some equipment on top of the cabinets?Look what the Ericsson crew did while installing the new ruus on the busiest tower in the while city! Those are brand new cabinets only about a year old. #cantgetright

Did you decrypt?I am running 5.0.1 CleanROM and its working great.

If Sprint decides to get rid of any spectrum they should offload the spectrum that they are leasing.

With Franco's kernel do you run Franco's default settings or do you tweak them? When I first got the device I averaged between 3.5-4hrs. After about 2 weeks that improved to slightly higher than 4. But I could not help myself Installed pure ROM and Franco kernel, I'm seeing between 6.5-7.5hrs depending on usage.
-
I got 4hrs of SOT which is the best I've done. I only had the phone for a week though.Maybe this will help... What kind of SOT are you n6ers seeing?

The Sprint band 41 site on on Blanding and College seems to shoot a signal all the way down to Old Jennings Road which is awesome range for the 2500mhz frequency. For the last 2 weeks since they optimized band 26 I have had great band 26 coverage. I now have LTE 800 from the Parkridge tower near my house vs the Sleepy Hollow site. Town Center has great coverage from the tower next to FBI off Gate Parkway.
I don't get LTE 2500 (band 41) that much from the Blanding towers. Clear band 41 still seems to work better than the Sprint band 41.
I am happy. I stay on LTE for most of my coverage and when on LTE speeds are typically 5mbps to 50mbps. My LTE gateway (Netgear) in my truck with the integrated antenna behind the rear seat next to the metal frame almost is always on LTE. I want to install a window mount antenna for it, but haven't due to the fact it works so well.
Which is the best range of any band 41 site I've connected to.

BTW, I'm loving this Nexus 6 it reminds me of when I purchased my Nexus 5. The reception is this thing is awesome. The LTE scan time is great. The only gripe I have is I'm not seeing the 24hr battery life that others are seeing even after I decrypted the device and the most screen on time I've gotten is about 3 and a half hours.800 voice is amazing. I live half a mile from a leagcy site and my nexus 6 rarely connects to it. It pulls 800 voice and band 26 from 3 other sites.
Other than that this is the device users need to purchase to see Sprint's real coverage.
