  1. I was considering leaving and waiting for my ETF to expire in reality.
  2. I am in Seattle for work these days. What is B41 like in these parts. Seattle and Bellevue areas.
  3. I got a cracked screen GS3 what you think I will get for that, large pizza and a 2 liter maybe?
  4. Yes Yes I know, plus I was saying I cracked the hell out of this screen, but come on man they sold me a device with a 2 year contract and upgrade period and $400 ETF. Thats what the market dictated was the normal buying cycle to me. My 2 years is up on one week. Its time for iPhone6 or the GS5 Sport.
  5. Yeah thanks for checking in.
  6. I am up for upgrade in one week, the time has finally come!
  7. I need some help from my fellow Chicagoan's on this site. I can't tell if my lack of service and connectivity is because of something with my device or something happened to the local network near my location. I lost my ability to get an LTE signal at the Ogilvy Center about 4-6 weeks ago, since then all I get is a no bar weak 1xRTT or even 1xRTT roam. I used to get a strong LTE signal in the lobby/food court and up in my office 22 floors up a good LTE signal around -100 to -105 dbM. That has since disappeared, and yes I have dropped my phone and cracked the screen since then too so maybe its my device. Who knows. If anyone is going to be in the area of Ogilvy can you stop by walk into the building and see what kind of service you get and report back here. That would be awesome.
  8. I dont know, I wish I knew how to see if I was connected to a DAS or a regular tower.
  9. Not a chance in hell we are driving, no one has a car anyway. Thats not our style. Prolly take the train or something.
  10. Hey friends I am heading to NYC this weekend for a little vacay and go to Bears vs. Jets on MNF. Can anyone give me a brief summary on what I can expect service wise. Im still using a GS3 so were talking 3G and B25 only. I am staying with a friend in Williamsburg, and as you know will be at Metlife stadium for the game. I am sure I will be putzing around Brooklyn and Manhattan all weekend so I am curious what the state of NV and service delivery is like in your market these days. Thanks.
  11. I had a weird experience with the DAS system at solider field. I wasn't sure what it was since it didn't seem to provide any service improvement for calls, data, or text to my device. All I found was Boingo Wi-fi available for a fee there.
  12. I am still getting 1XRTT only in many loop locations that were in the past LTE. This started up about a month ago when others noticed some changes in coverage due to possible signal optimization. Not sure if the two are related or not, but B25 LTE has disappeared from many indoor locations I frequent in the loop.
  13. Here is a real GS5 question. Does the device use SIM cards and therefore can be unlocked if I travel abroad so I can pop in a SIM from a local carrier. Does the GS5 that I buy from Sprint support those global GSM bands that I will find in countries in S. America and Europe if I am able to unlock the device?
  14. Isn't that still a bargain compared to TMobile. Its $600 for a phone (whether I flex it or not I am paying $600 one way or the other) and $80 a month for unlimited everything. At Sprint if I choose unlimited everything for $80 my phone is $200. I save $400. How is that not a giant marketing point for Sprint!!!!
  15. Ahhh I got you now. That's essentially the same thing as what I have now that I signed up for in 2012. I still don't get the idea of the flex pay no contract thing. If you don't want a contract and want to leave after 6 months you owe sprint $440 for the phone, after 12 months, $300. The cost of switching is still ridiculously high and you are likely stuck with a phone you can't use on a diff carrier. How is this really all that different from signing a 2 year deal and paying an ETF if you really want out and hate your service?
  16. My contract expires in three weeks. I was looking at switching to TMO. I am pretty hot after the GS5 Sport. The plan prices at TMO are fine, like in the $60-$80 range for everything I need. But good lord, have they really done away with phone subsidies via contracts? A sprint GS5 costs $199 when you sign a 2 year deal, fine, the plan is $60 a month. TMO wants you to pay $600 full retail for a phone in order to access the same $60 (or $70 a month plan) in exchange for.......just not having a 2 year contract. Thats the deal...really? Spend $400 more and just don't have a contract!!! Why would anyone think that's a good deal??? Sprint blows them away, $199 for a phone, $60 for unlimited everything.
  17. Service was unusually poor today. I haven't been around all week, but back in the loop today and I was having a real big problem just holding and maintaining any signal. Usual good spots turned into 1XRTT only, in and out of coverage. Something must be up downtown. Anyone else notice?
  18. You're not gonna start talking about Jordan Lynch now after the 4th preseason game are u?
  19. I am getting a ton of bouncing between LTE and 3G and the phone flashing in and out of service all around town this weekend. Something is def up.
  20. Gotta be the 2nd carrier on B25 right?
  21. This is what I have been thinking about. I have been enamored with the N5 and Vince has even offered to sell my the one he never uses. I know its a SIM based and global phone. I travel out of the country a lot and want a phone I can SIM swap to a local carrier. I also know with such device I can go month to month with TMobile or Sprint and just swap sims if I feel like changing carriers. I think that kind of flexibility is exactly what I am looking for, though I do prefer Samsung's hard buttons for home/back/menu vs. the digital ones on the N5.
  22. Same here, my contract expires in 6 weeks. I am not sure which direction I want to go. I travel a ton now for work, that plays into my decision.
  23. I don't know anyone whose service work flawlessly here, there are trouble spots, times, places for all the carriers. To me its about pinpointing your needs vs. known good/bad spots. My parents house in south burbs is an ATT deadzone, Sprint is not great in the Loop, TMobile is 2G after you pass Elgin/Aurora/Joliet, VZW was handing people down to 3G like crazy until recently. The list goes on and on. These are things I have come to know. As our contracts expire or we are up for phone upgrades we all need to figure out what makes sense for us individually.
  24. Wow ATT . Feel bad for those getting laid off because of ATTs actions.
  25. Can you elaborate on this ATT halted work you speak of?
