  1. What have you noticed the drop off points difference between B41 and B25 to be? Any difference? Let's say excluding regular outdoors or in your car coverage cuz that's rather default for good service no matter what band.
  2. I can't think of a single instance where Chicago >> St. Louis is not true, including Sprint service. You will see.
  3. I have only seen this hours when the carrier was super crowded during peak work hours in the loop. When I check later at night when the loop empties out it usually goes back to greater DL bandwidth than upload, your situation is strange.
  4. Girls in high waisted 80s style shorts Girls in good ole low waisted short shorts Sprint service at Lolla 2014
  5. Boom, got it now. Thanks.
  6. I set my phone to CDMA only like I was saying earlier to save battery, which worked, but then I noticed the entire time my Signal Check Pro said I was on EVDO 3G. I thought we are done with EVDO in Chicago now since all our sites are NV1.0 complete and broadcasting 3G as eHRPD. When I turn it back to LTE/CDMA and I go into 3G then my Signal Check says eHRPD. Did I misinterpret something here, I thought I wasn't supposed to see EVDO show up anymore in NV1.0 complete markets.
  7. For sure, its safe to say whoever took the over on girls wearing those high waisted 80s style acid wash shorts made a killing this weekend. Too bad they are ugly as hell on 95% of girls who wear em.
  8. I saw them but I was too preoccupied with music, drinking, and girls to bother go taking a look. I saw the COW behind the Perrys stage on Columbus.
  9. Yeah let me know about North Coast, I will be going to Riot Fest next month and will be checking things out there. I noticed about the same as you, Id say 75% of the time I could do what I wanted, but I stuck myself on EVDO and 1XRTT on purpose to save battery. My sister who has an iphone 4s from ATT couldn't do squat and oddly enough my one buddy who has an iPhone 5 from Sprint also said he couldn't do squat, I am going to assume he got stuck on the overcrowded B25 original carrier since you say there was no B26.
  10. Lolla day one in the books. Service was useable, not great, but not bricked phones either. I actually turned my LTE off to save battery. Though sometimes I needed to try a couple times my calls, texts, whatsapp messages, and IG uploads did all go through for send and receive. Didn't even bother testing speed, as long as I could use the phone to find and meet people which is what is most important so I was happy.
  11. Are those COWS for 3G only or do they broadcast any kind of LTE?
  12. Tomorrow starts the big weekend in Chicago, its Lollapalooza time. Anyone else going besides me? Big test for Sprint, not so much for me and my single band GS3, but for you tri-band folks out there. I am really curious to see if those un-congested B26 and B41 bands can offer the unthinkable, useable data service at Lolla. And who knows, perhaps there will be some service for us B25 only folks too. Only one way to find out.
  13. Anyone know what this makeshift site is right over by Wrigley, it's located on Patterson/Clark in the Enterprise rental car lot right there.. I have seen it there since the Winter, I think I remember it going up around the time of Teebox in December. Someone is feeding more capacity to the Wrigley stadium and bars area. It looks like a 3G only stack, I don't think its Sprint's, would have shown on the NV map right? There were no markings on it to giveaway who is the owner/operator.
  14. Agree with everything here, things are improving. I even recently noticed more B25 LTE for me in my office building downtown. I never used to get LTE except for in the lobby and it was still sub 500K. Now I am noticing I am holding more LTE all over the building and speeds are better. This is a great improvement. Big challenge next weekend, Lolla is back!
  15. Prolly some quaaludes, which I didn't know existed until Wolf of Wall St.
  16. I wonder if that would correlate to one of the last remaining downtown 3G only sites finally getting its LTE upgrade. The site on NW Memorial Hospital Building @ St. Clair and Huron. I'm always over there for treatment and stuck in a 3G hole. But now I also wonder if B26 is over there and filling in that hole in and around the Hospital Buildings there.
  17. Maybe you disagree, but I have always viewed the whole EasyPay or finance the phone practice which become the "hot" trend for all carriers in recent years to be kind of predatory. Most of them are claiming they are offering you the ability to opt out whenever or have no contract commitment in exchange for financing the phone (at full price) for an extended period of time. But the carriers know not all phones can be used on competitors networks so if you wanted out you still have to pay off your phone to your current carrier at that full price $600 price. So in some instances the customer is gonna get "stuck" because of the sunk cost/technology change.
  18. Crazy deal, unfortunately zero meaning for anyone that has Sprint service already. And the plan requires a full price purchase of the phone, unless u are lucky and own a tri-band phone like the N5 already that u can bring over. Seems like the promotion is just a gimmick that trades the subsidy in the phone ($200 for $600) for the offset in the monthly plan price. "Pricing for new-line activations only. Requires you to sign up for Sprint Easy PaySM installments for your device, pay full MSRP, or bring your own device."
  19. Was at Pitchfork festival last night in West Loop (union Park). Service was actually pretty darn good. We all know I am B25/CDMA only, but still I was quite pleased and surprised with how well the B25 worked given gripes in the past with large crowds and events. Not sure the size of pitchfork, maybe 20K people, its not the biggest fest in the world, but I could do things that in the past I couldn't do on B25; Facebook, tweet, Instagram, check fantasy scores, use whatsapp (send pics, vids), etc. Was all good. Perhaps these are the effects of the 2nd carrier in action, not sure if it was been reported in the West Loop. Some of the people I was with had VZW. Their data connections were fine, I saw them taking and uploading pics/vids of Kendrick Lamaar awesome performance with no problems, but they had call drop issues all day. Which is very frustrating when trying to find people at fests.
  20. What have they done in KC that they haven't done in Chicago?
  21. That's great news too, the Loop def needs more capacity on all fronts.
  22. Awesome news guys, one of the last remaining Loop 3G sites is now LTE accepted. The site by the Daley Center on Lasalle St. Was def a noticeable hole there. There is a new site on 35th just blocks from the cell too, its 3G/800 only, says its a replacement site. Also good news, the Cell could use some more eHRPD and B25 capacity....yes even when there is just 20K in the house.
  23. In theory the cubs and white sox 2014 world series hopes are still alive!
  24. Well maybe he was just hitting the 2nd carrier now in Palos and didn't know it. I assume the 2nd carrier has less traffic than the original and therefore produces these better speeds, even during peak times.
  25. Sounds like that's likely the case. Did you do a PRL update. Hahaha!!
