  1. Ehh Sprint exec at CES said don't count out there being another EVO on sprint.... Not counting it out just yet... HTC will fragment the device again this is for sure as they will at the very least have a new one come mid year with the S800 running in it.....maybe 5in evo? Hehe Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  2. Haha funny read there. Bet he was foaming at the mouth writing that. Lol Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  3. Just get twc extreme...100Mbps DL. Haha jkjk Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  4. Would think it'd be smart to come in behind sprints upgrades and then they will be able to ensure backhaul shouldn't be a problem as most all sites will have fiber run to them by some vendor so wouldn't be a big deal for clear to use existing backhaul vendor at the site... As opposed to going microwave route or using what they have currently... Least I don't see the backhaul excuse less they are trying to save major money and not pay for the pipe size they fully need. 5. M7 will have the S600 in it.... The S600 is slated to be in devices released by Q2 this year, and the 800 by mid year... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  6. I can see that being the case.... In which back then when deployed they might actually need a different vendor if the tech was old enough and would be a bottle neck...no? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  7. 1000% sure its NOT the s4 pro SoC. That there is likely the S600 which uses the same Adreno GPU as the S4 Pro did but overall is a better SoC... Qualcomm said no S800 til be mid yr too... It is shocking to see no octa SoC in it... No need for the split US/Int versions bc of LTE since their new stuff was supposed to be better... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  8. You can't tell me they were running on bundled T1 too?.... Would think any/all backhaul upgrades are easily done as I'd expect them all to be fiber/.microwave/AAV...so should be as a phone call to the vendor to up the pipe size no?... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  9. Its lit up from downtown to past the 401/70 split. Take that every day home from work here... It stops part way in downtown though as its never reached all the way up through the northside of downtown where ud hit wade ave from south saunders... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  10. Ahhh ok perfect sense there. I just assumed that sense there were 3 actuators on the bottom to adjust tilt that it was only 3 antennas. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  11. Then why can't they do cdma/lte on one antenna?... Guess just no need for it really... Why I asked to begin with as you have 3 antennas per sector/panel. One does 1900 LTE, one 1900 CDMA/EVDO, and one does 800mhz 1x advance/LTE... Actually if it is right that you can't do more then 2 per antenna that kinda makes some sense if it is laid out how I mention above..... Since they are not doing evdo data on 800 there is no 1x/evdo just 1x/lte... Now the question, I assume it requires 2 carrier cards installed, one for 800 1x advance and one for 800LTE.... 12. I know this is an old post quoted here but it got me thinking... If they leave the 800mhz antenna in each sector/panel unhooked and just plan on coming back to connect with a carrier card and get LTE800 up then..... Then how are ones getting 800 cdma 1xAdvanced currently?.... Whole reason I was thinking is I know there are 3 antennas in each sector panel one cdma 1900, one lte1900, and one 800... Question is if the 800mhz antenna is going to support both 1xadvance and lte, and if that's the case then why can't the 1900mhz antennae handle both cdma and lte signals at same time?... Jw bc I thought for 800 lte they'd have to add another panel and the current one initially installed would be hooked up to 1xadvance and just waiting on them to turn it on... 13. Should check the "other forum sections" for that info.... It is who you'd likely think it would be though... I will say though at my tower I took pics of ATT had a ton of cabinet work there. First thing u notice is their big ol logo on a handful # of cabinets... Still trying to figure out what the smaller white ones were for... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  14. Its not just speed of the device. One its how you'll have better battery with integrated radios compared to the S4 pro, and the SoC all around is a beast compared to it. Able to encode/decode 4K HD even.... And with the performance increase were looking at reduced lag and just better overall use... Its much more than how fast something opens... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  15. Yeah but I wouldnt of thought they would if flipped LTE on if backhaul was not there...before they had the bundled T1 junk and I couldn't get even 0.05Mbps when slow active times even... Would not think there was a chance n Hell the initial backhaul there could do squat with LTE and regular services on top... Edit: Ahh I see drop off from >90 to 92-100 signal readings related to speed is pretty big. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  16. Reg signal shows 4-5 bars mostly... LTE data showed RSRP was 92 and RSRQ was 7... I did view this bounce some back n forth from those to 102 and 20 back and forth... Speed test showed 9/4 up/down Decent if it holds that speed when under load but odd to me bc I'd expect little to no other users on this thing already... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  17. Yup just checked and I get it in my house constantly now! Only pulled 6Mbps down 3Mbps up.... Would of expected more at start... Will check it tomorrow morning on way to work to see if it spikes with less users...wouldnt expect that many on it now already which is interesting...this site is notorious for being over capacity but hoping it was pure backhaul related before and not carrier related... 18. Here are a few more pics. http://www.imgur.com/p7dyWNv.jpeg http://www.imgur.com/J5AjP8e.jpeg http://www.imgur.com/i8jY90y.jpeg http://www.imgur.com/ugQbE8l.jpeg If you go to the 'my tower' thread in here you can see a pic of the platform before the cabinets were installed and notice that 2 additional cabinets are now there, one small white one and one larger brown one. These white boxes(not on the sprint platform) in the one pic I have no clue what they are there for at the tower or their purpose. http://www.imgur.com/KCViTv7.jpeg Edit: Put the pics in dropbox. Including the before pic of the platform so you can tell what 2 boxes were added exactly. http://db.tt/TgGma4cP Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  19. Saw the antennas. Was tough to spot em on the tower with so many sectors. They have one new one per sector and on each sector arm they sit between 2 tiny skinny antennas on either side. Ill try to get pics up here tonight hopefully. The pic of the cabinets shows the new big darker brown cabinet installed. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  20. I definitely will. Need to look harder at the RUUs as the first time I did not see any new antennas with RUU stack like sprint has been doing... Only RUUs I saw up at antennas were the single RUU for what ever carrier is deployed like that. This tower is a cluster to tell ad it has att, cricket, sprint, clearwire, and I believe Verizon too ontop of some others... Anything in your documents specify which section of the tower they use by chance? Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  21. Yeah I would. 2 new cabinets were placed on the sprint platform. Weren't labeled yet with site number as that was still on the legacy cabinet. The new cabinet is beefier than the old one though I do say. Ill snap a pic next time I drive by it. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  22. Oh yeah wasn't directed at what you've reported here. Just the new member on here I was responding to... I did go out to it and saw new cabinet but that's it... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  23. Went out to 401 tower today and there are 2 new cabinets installed but I didn't see the RRU stack up at the antennas... Tough to tell actually on that tower with the number of providers on it and some others have 1 RRU up there at their antenna already... No LTE though even with toggle... Ill keep checkin though Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  24. Inside of a contractor doing the deployment I guess... Well I have yet to see a crane out at the 401 tower less it did all the work in the past 5 days or so. I will definitely drive by tomorrow... I will note that while my speed on 3G is still horrid off it, the pings have reduced a lot...in the 300 range even. Yet only 0.07Mbps Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
