  1. Simple answer. No lol. If you don't need the minutes, why switch it up. I have 1500 minutes between 3 phones on a shared plan. We have not even come close to using 200 minutes a month. Everything is texting, facetime audio, or unlimited night and weekends stuff. I honestly wish I could lower it to 500 minutes to drop the bill down because there is no way we will ever use 1500 minutes a month, ever.

I find this to be true. Lower minutes and a lower bill. But unfortunately I feel like these companies keep these high minute plans to be able to charge more, since no one ever really uses them. IMO.

  2. NV rollout has been solid down here, but LTE got a few blocks away from my house a few months ago and prgress has stopped. I am getting great 3g at home >2mbps. I am in 33143 on the east side of US1 and if you look at Sensorly can see a  pocket that is missing LTE.

I took a look in the official thread and Miami appears to be on track for full completion by 4/2014. Is this every tower in the market?  Is this projection still accurate?

    Thanks

I live in this area and service is horrendous.

  3. I see this competing more directly with the iPad Mini. Maybe the screen will not be in the 16:9 format, but rather much more like a square like the iPad Mini.

P.S. Sorry if this made little sense. I haven't woken up completely yet xD

P.P.S I really hate when they say that this will be based off of another tablet like the G-Pad 8.3 It's not like that tablet has anything really different from any other 8.3 slate. Just like the N5, it looks like almost every other 5 inch phone, yet they say it's based off of the G2... BS!

  4. Here ya go.

I was promised wild swinging. This is mild....

It's a tad expensive, but if it's that good it might be a good investment in the future.

  5. Definitely! Theres a video of guy swinging the charger with the phone on it. Even with a case it takes practice to get the phone off the charger.

I would love to see that. Link please? :)

  6. Lack of flash is when I need to do banking online and lack flash inhibits me from doing certain actions.... So that is a strick for me personally... But the nexus is good too... Just know I'll be looking at the HTC M8 HTC one/2 when it drops as well....

Your bank doesn't have an app? Mobile banking is great, I love it personally. But if your bank does not have a dedicated app, I wouldn't even be using a mobile browser. Makes me feel a little unsafe.

  7. Isn't flash support more based on that it's using an older version of Android than that it's made by HTC?

I don't suppose so. Google hasn't supported flash in Chrome for a couple of 4.0+ versions. HTC's stock browser includes support, so it has nothing to do with an older version of android.

Personally I use Chrome, so flash is not missed, but it is mildly annoying when I come across a page and the embedded content says I'm missing the flash plug-in. But that only happens once in a blue moon.

  8. I'm using only a rubber/polyurethane cover with no screen protector. I never liked how screen protectors felt, nor how bubbles and dirt get in anyway.

With the nexus 7, I know which end is which by feeling for the usb socket bump. Also, the front camera hole is pretty easy to see, the power button is near the front camera.

I have it in a sleeve, so normally I put it in correctly, so I can always take it out with the power button on the right. But when it's lying around I'm not used to ever actively looking for the power button. I always end up spinning it anyways :P

  9. The only time I confuse the power button for the volume rockers is on the Nexus 7. Who's idea was it to put both the volume rockers and the power button on the same side in very close proximity to each other?

I always end up spinning the Nexus 7 multiple times trying to find the power button. Although I love the device I wish I had more of a visual clue as to where the "top" of the device is other than the miniscule camera hole that practically disappears into the glass. I look like a fool spinning it around feeling the sides.

When I tried using the nexus 5 the other day I couldn't find the power button. I kept confusing it as part of the volume rocker. But I'm sure with some time, it's all about getting accustomed to it.

  10. I have heard good things about those tempered glass screen protectors but personally I think that $25 for any screen protector is too much.  Its funny though, I won't spend no more than $5 to $10 on a screen protector or case but have no problem dropping $600 to $700 on a phone, LOL.

Well you get what you pay for :P

If you think about it, spending $25 bucks for a $600 phone is roughly equivalent to 4.5% of what you paid, BUT it will give you back more resell value in the end.

If and when I get the phone and this protector, I'll let you know what's it's like :P

  11. I am not a fan of screen protectors either because all of them feels weird against my finger tips but gorilla glass or not, it really doesn't take much to scratch the screen.  Every day items like keys coins or whatever random items you may have in your pocket won't scratch your screen.  The number one culprit 99% of the time is some sort of sand/salica(it's everywhere) which will cut through any type of smartphone screen, gorilla glass or not, like a hot knife through butter.  So even though I can't stand screen protectors I now use them all the time.

I've been thinking of using this when I get the Nexus 5 next month.

  12. yep, got in on a 2012 n7 and the n4 yesterday.

The 2012 n7 is still slow and laggy, junk tablet.

The n4 is still nice and zippy.

For 4.4 you need to update the app ops. Install this and save your battery, disable location/wake lock on many apps.

I just got it about two days ago. It's nothing really new TBH, but the 2013 version has better screen responsiveness.

  13. Don't be a girl, carry your phone in your back pocket and then be surprised when it goes in the toilet when you sit down. Then pretend it did not happen and be furious when the plumber fishes out of the toilet and everybody accuses you of being sneaky! So, don't carry your iPhone in your back pocket :).

    What?

This has nothing to do with the OP.

But yeah people have complained that the EVO LTE bent, but I think that was mostly attributed to the weak spot behind the kick stand. As far as iPhones, first time I ever heard of it.

  14. One thing to try is Qualcomm's battery guru app also.  I have it on my phone and went 19 hours.  The phone had about 5% charge when I plugged it back in.  There was a mixture of gaming/phone and many emails.  I would consider it a moderate day of usage so I was pretty impressed.

I've had the opposite experience with that app. For some reason it drained my battery much faster than without it.

  15. Sprint should have made it so that the spark icon only appeared when in spark areas only.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

This would make more logical sense, but on the other hand, many people won't be able to differentiate when they are in a Spark location or not. People would just think they are receiving the same service as someone in an active market. The more you differentiate services the more you could potentially confuse, and frustrate customers. "Why does someone else have that spinning icon and not me? I have the same phone!" would be the mindset behind why they probably will just leave it on regardless of market.

    I hope that made sense.

  16. I just went to best buy to inquire about this, and I called sprint as well to clarify some doubts.

It says that the fees are subject to taxes and surcharges. Presumably it's taxes on free service? Also the promo says $2.50 + $0.40 for admin charges.

But Best Buy and Sprint have no idea what they are talking about and ended up confusing me some more. If you do this, how much should you be paying in the end?

Let me give you a scenario. With my family plan I pay $147, if I get this by adding another line, then how much would be added on top of my current total?
