Network Vision/LTE - Milwaukee Market (including Madison)
smalltimehack replied to sajanisch's topic in Markets
Where? -
Maybe this is a bad download on my end but at my store when I reset the connection in the app the One actually shows the airplane and then shows signal again, while the s4 stays the same and doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone else notice this?

The middle one. The two on the sides are legacy. According to contractor I talked to earlier this week the legacy panels will come down later and new panels will be put up. -

I believe just 1900 but I'm no expert on 800 rru id. I know we're slated to get 800 later on which is when the two legacy panels will come down and new equipment will go up.- 153 replies

These are in Oak Creek by Milwaukee. I swear I was posting in the Samsung identification thread. I have NO clue how they ended up here. At least you guys know what nv equipment looks like now! -

Looks to be nv complete to me but not marked on the complete map. Panel and rru. My cabinet pic isn't working but I'll fix it soon. -
^ true, Most of the time they do come in an envelope but the vto sticker on the inside with a date would let you know it's a refurb. With a phone this new I doubt they have any refurbs already so they're prolly going to be new for awhile.
-
Being so new sprint orders a stash of new ones for when problems like this come up. I dunno how they plan on refurbing these anyways since they can't be opened.

ML03XC134, classic lanes bowling, has its cabinets powered on. Still no signal down the street. There is an att marker so I'm curious if we're waiting on back haul? -
See and in my store the difference of 5 feet is two signal bars and - 10dbm on signalcheck with the s4 being weaker of the two.

Changes to Airave device positioning for customers
smalltimehack replied to halcyoncmdr's topic in General Topics
Current customers are not effected. This is only for determining new Airave devices being sent out. Much of my home market is within the IBEZ as well, but some sites here (that I thought would be unable to get 800, are slated for it. Just tell then the phone will get better signal, and will work in places the cheaper phones won't. Then notate it on the account so if they call in and complain a few months down the line, another rep can tell them the same thing. :-P I don't understand how the average person can't seem to grasp that a more expensive phone possibly can give better service and have fewer issues. There's a reason that phone is free with contract... it's not because the company wants to be nice. It's because it's inferior. Oh I do. I'm an android guy through and through so it's not too often I sell an iPhone unless a customer specifically asks for one. I sell more s4's due to me having one and talking about mine. Therefore no signal problems!- 11 replies

Depending on how new the tower is it won't be that fast. A lot of towers seem to " break in" and get faster as time goes on. It also depends on the speed of the back haul. Out in the sticks I'm not surprised it's a little slower. What kind of speeds are you seeing? -

Same thing was posted in the Milwaukee market. It should have had a link to take you to a page showing a map of where they're doing upgrades. Nothing special. -

X2. I understand phones are expensive but when I tell people the 5 is better due to different signals it can connect to they just blow it off.- 11 replies

Depending on what phone you have it could be effecting it as well. I've had 4 photons come in with a problem similar to the one you're describing and a profile update has helped out greatly. -
I've used thus before and thought it was pretty cool. I didn't play too extensively with it but I did have it set up to automatically turn on my wifi at places that are known to have it based on my position via cell towers. The way that was set up saves a lot more battery life over using gps to scan for your location. Kinda makes me wanna get back into playing around with it. Lol.

I went and visited the tower right down the street from my store again and this time caught a programmer working inside the cabinets. According to him the tower by the bowling alley will go live tomorrow and there are 3-4 others in the general Milwaukee area that he knows are on his schedule but he didn't want to tell me where. If you see a little black truck at any towers go stop by cuz it's probably him! -

Just drive around and hope for the best! I thought they would kick me out of the site right away but the guy was actually pretty nice about it and even pointed out what was what on the racks. -

I talked with a worker at the base of the tower next to the bowling alley on 38. He said Lte should have gone live today but no such luck. All the cabinets were complete but the panels just needed to be powered on. He also said that legacy panels would be staying up there for awhile and then getting taken down later on for different panels.
