Would sprint/softbank have any interest in the land game? ie, not relying on AT&T for back-haul and doing it themselves?
-
Where at?
You need to be a sponsor to see the map. Right now only in the area where 99 and I-5 meet.

A dozen towers!
Its happening!
The dairy cows must be thrilled

Sprint would be better off not officially announcing LTE cities until mostly complete. Would be better for users to be surprised to see LTE with lower expectations than to have high expectations when announced and find only 40% of market has it. Maybe Sprint should just announce 'LTE rollout has hit 40% of market and growing weekly' when at 40% or something that delivers more than what is announced.
I agree that 40% still leaves too many gaps.
Should maybe wait until 60%.
Good news on the tri-band confirmation.

I had countless problems with this thing. I had 5 different ones from sprint and I ultimately got one more, sold it on ebay and bought an s3 outright.
Mines acting up again. It randomly reset this afternoon, and di so 3-4 days ago.
Only a month until I can dump it.

Woa woa, slow down a minute guys before you bbq me, i am not as you refer trying to stick it to sprint, to the contrary, i do not even have roaming turned on my phone, 95% of my use is data and that is mainly at work since at home i have wifi, and at work i have wimax, i am hardly costing them any extra money, and btw it was not my choice to move here, and the reason i have not closed my account is that i hope to be moved somewhere where they have native coverage in the next 6-8 months.
Youre saying you didnt move your entire life to a new city for the sole purpose of sticking it to Sprint by incurring a reasonable amount of roaming, allowed in your contract?
A likely story.

Which are?
Well everything looks to be consistently one year behind schedule.
So if your market is scheduled to be done by Q2, 2014. And its at 0% now......
The markets that actually have progress are already indicating they wont be done until fall 2014.

A lot of Wimax customers that signed up in 2011 like myself are due for an upgrade this year and I know most can't wait to get off the Wimax network. I really want to help Sprint out here by moving over from WiMax to LTE but Sprint needs to offer that tri-band LTE phone at this point for me to pick up now and re-up with them. I know I am not alone on this. The earliest I see a mass move from Wimax to LTE will be later on this year as the NV project progresses and more areas are lit up with LTE and tri-band LTE smartphones are released.
Yeah Im in an area with wimax but no LTE.
Its not much of an incentive if "upgrade" actually means "downgrade".
As for the OP, its the same policy Verizon did with Altell. Good customer service.
-
I think its clear at this point which markets wont be done until 2015
-
In that youtube video....are such elaborate machines really necessary to a) drop a phone and
stick it in water?

Im a fan of the fake pine trees

My upgrade is august 1....
I really hope a tri band is out by then.
And that its the active.
The active has a replaceable battery right? Is the processor same as the standard G4 or is it gimped?

Talked to my mom on the phone (Clovis), her call kept dropping and she says the living room is now "roaming".
Might have to get her an airave. At my dads house (Massachusetts) his nearest tower has been "in progress" for well over a year, so we had to get an airave for him. Also, when I was in Fresno two weeks ago, speeds were abysmal.
Im talking 18 down 2 up.
.....and that not mb!
I think I could have opened a webpage faster via telegraph.

In the cases where Sprint provides customer service to the MVNO, the MVNO pays for that service. It's an optional feature that costs more.
Robert
No, Verizon never handled straight talk customers, the problem was when they dialed the shortcut that was suposed to take them to straight talk customer service, sometimes theyd end up at verzion customer service and be irate that we wouldnt help them. That was 2-3 minutes of wasted time.
-
Another thing to remember about MVNO's, they cost Sprint no money in customer service or other costs.
Not 100% true. At least when I worked at Verizon, some straight talk customers would make their way into our phone queue.
Id guess the same happens with At&T and sprint?
They push *## for customer service and it ends up and the main carrier queue.

So I was reading on how AT&T is copying verizon (as always) and moving to a 24 month device renewal.
The comments, as per usual are "i hate them and want to go to t-mobile but tmobile coverage sucks" and "tmobile is great in the city but terrible in the country"
As I have zero experience with tmobile, I cant say if this is true or not.
I know the reason sprint has good coverage is due to roaming agreements.
Is tmobile doing anything to expand into rural areas, via new towers or roaming agreements?

Giving directions in the central valley based off walmart locations is as futile as directing people using mcdonalds as a landmark.
"take a right on the mcdonalds, then pass two mcdonalds, when you get to the fork in the road, with a mcdonalds on either side, take a soft right, youll see mcdonalds in the distance"

Stiiiiiiiill pushing the SG2 at Target and Best Buy.
The best buy had 1 GS4 display, 1 GS3 display and TWO GS2 on display!!
Edit- At Sprint, didnt even check Virgin or Boost

Interesting new format. I guess due to character limits?
The lack of edit marks on the old posts had me super confused.
Absolutely love that LTE completion ahs been given its own line

Ive been having an issue now where every time I roam (in the US of course), and try and send a text message it says something along the lines of
WARNING - INTERNATIONAL ROAMING, ADDITIONAL SMS CHARGES MAY BE INCURRED.
-Send Now
-Wait to send in domestic area
-Save to drafts
im NOT in an international area. How the hell do I stop this idiotic warning from popping up EVERY time I send an SMS in roaming areas?
-
It sucks that they make you purchase the device. Thankfully, when you do, there's no additional monthly charges. Why not speak to a retention specialist and see if they'll send you on for free, or use one on a 'loaner' basis like Sprint does?
From my experience at Verizon, retention was not able to do that. Might have changed though.
-
This might be able to help you out.
Does Verizon have a femtocell solution like Sprint's Airave?
They do but they charge, and most reps forget the product exists so they wont recommend it. I also forget what name it goes under...
-
It actually was customer service the lady said she was a escalation manager and that it was starting here and I will soon experience issues do to the work gonna be done
Next time you talk to phone support, ask them where theyre located. If they say California......they might be in Clovis, on Shaw. Tell them if they lie to you, you know where they park.
If a city has unrealistic expectations, they will just make them last. Also, Sprint is in compliance with the FCC. They don't have to add LTE or do NV upgrades if they don't want to. I don't know what you're talking about them getting into trouble.
