  1. You cannot definitely state that they are not doing full build sites unless you are present at every cell site and confirm it.

Schedule changes have occurred and GMOs were planned due to ROI and lack of funds back during the planning stages of 2011-2012. The purchase and billions of investment by Softbank has changed everything up and most former planned GMOs are now full builds.

GMOs are now only reserved for sites with extraneous reasons and not the norm. By virtue of being a late 2013 4th round market it's more likely than not that former planned GMOs are full builds.

I know the contractor who works on them around me, I know exactly when will be done, I will not post them here.

  2. I spoke with the local sprint employee at the mall. He claims that the tower on High st in Victor will be lit up with LTE. He had never heard anything about the Mall being a cutoff point for the 4g coverage. Why would they have LTE in Rochester and Canandaigua, but not in between. I see it has even shown up on sensorly in honeoye falls.

They are doing FULL build sites first for LTE... The mall is the cut off point for full builds for now. Yes Canandaigua, Dansville, Palmyra, Newark etc are full builds.

  3. I was up in Henrietta earlier today and the site that is still not NV complete the "BUF" switch one is not transmitting.  I checked on Signal PRO and I was right in front of the Harris building and I was still on the tower just north of Marketplace Mall.... I did do a data reset and still same thing. (I had two phones just to double check)   I have a feeling that one will be decommissioned....

  4. You get wimax? I am so jealous. Waiting until lte is working at my house before I upgrade my wimax photon.

Jim, Sent from my Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2

Yes the tower is .30 miles from my house  :)

  5. However I can no longer enjoy LTE because I had to switch back to my old trusty EVO 3D the other day.  I was having too many issues with the EVO LTE screen not responding half of the time, other times it would just start freaking out and doing its own thing, I was so close to smashing that phone to pieces... It got really frustrating when I was in the middle of something and needed to call someone and It wouldn't let me press anything, I have heard of this issue before and repairing it isnt worth it to me, its just a piece of junk phone.  Oh well Wimax still works at my house but I dont use it much.

  6. Almost all of them! Just 2 remaining sites on Wilson Hospital and 20 Hawley street that remain Non-NV. Only a few other sites need LTE backhaul and they'll be done down here.

No official 1x800 as of yet, but I have spotted it a few times when it was most likely in testing.

The in-laws will be switching within a month or two, so hopefully 1x800 will be active by then.

Your right I just looked, I noticed that the upstate central market is the slowest with upgrades, Rochester is good, Buffalo is getting there.  The only eye sore (by looking at the not complete maps) we got is the "buf" switch for some odd reason site in the Henrietta area. I have a feeling they will probably deactivate that.

  7. Just would like some confirmation that this basic flip phone supports 1x800. I'm having trouble finding specs on it.

My girlfriend's mother and father would probably end up getting these as they're simple, and don't need much functionality other than basic SMS once in awhile. That, and it's only $4/mo with Easy Pay on Framily.

They live on the fringe of 1x1900 so 1x800 is critical, or else they'd need to get a better phone.

I did see you guys finally got NV/LTE in Binghamton now I believe all the towers down there are all done

  8. I am currently on eHRPD at home ranging between -85 to -95 dBm. So I am curious about signal strength and the distance it can travel for every band Sprint has. I have 2 towers both about 2-3 miles away from me. How far can 800, 1900, and 2500 approximately reach. I know it varies due to landscapes and structures. Any information or sites regarding this would be appreciated. I like to learn.

I had to re read this twice... No question mark....? 1900 Ive seen stretch as far (and usable up to 8 miles... 10 is the max)  800 I would say 14-15.  2500/2600 about 3-5 miles.  This being no other towers around (JUST ONE for miles...)  This is my experience, and others could say differently but I think this is a fair estimate.

  9. I got this text msg from Sprint today:

"SprintFreeMsg: Your Visual Voicemail account is being upgraded. After 04/02, please call in to voicemail to record your new greeting and reset your passcode."

Anybody know why this is happening? Is it due to some sort of upgrade to the voicemail system?

    That would be nice!

  10. A radio tower used for emergency communications as well as cellular collapsed in last nights storm in North Adams Mass.  Pretty wild.  Each link has some different pictures.

Wow. And I thought the winds in Pahrump were bad last night. Fortunately, our communication towers were built to withstand hurricane force winds as they have lasted through 120 MPH winds in the past.

    :tu:

  11. I am a sponsor. What part of the forum would I look that up ? honestly the lte is the only reason I have stayed with Sprint . If I won't be getting it I may bail

You need to be a Premier Sponsor. I don't want to get into trouble by disclosing too much information on the public forums. Maybe if you ask a mentor, author or Robert they MIGHT help you out only if you ask about a specific tower. It not a guarantee but hey it's up to you.

  12. Still no LTE in the village of Victor. works great at Eastview mall. I see there still in the area so Im guessing the tower near the Village will be turned on at some point?

If you are a premier sponsor you would find out Victor is not going to get LTE for a long time probably.... I am pretty sure I am safe to save on here that the cut off point is the mall for LTE for now, the towers else where are different, I dont want to get into specifics on the public side of forums.

  13. Roaming just stinks period, if I know I am going into a non Sprint native coverage area, I use my AT&T prepaid phone at least I get 3G or in some spots HSPA+ BUT I only do this when I am up at camp in the Adirondacks and its only during the summer months, Sprint's tower too much of a stretch for data to be usable, I forced it to be on Sprint Only and even with NV its just too far away and it goes to 1X.  Vzw is there too but they are just too expensive (and 1X only roaming stinks!).... However reading the past month or two AT&T and Vzw are just about the same in price anymore....
