  1. I do agree with Son, I think SOME Americans are full of themselves(as in major companies), too busy about making money and charging people way too much for crap speeds.  I am NOT pointing this at anyone here, I am just saying in GENERAL.  (I am playing it safe not to get anyone mad at me for my opinion on here)   :)  I do not judge anyone, or any particular company but things here in America could be better!

  2. This is very interesting.  Again, I think it is important we watch T-Mobile churn.  How many are lured from AT&T only to be unsatisfied with the coverage.

I never had T-mobile but I know of a lot of people that come to the Rochester, NY area to different colleges and they are people who come from the big cities and complain about how awful the coverage is even in Buffalo and Syracuse but Rochester is better out of the three.  The two friends I still talk to weekly say its gotten better with LTE (that launched late last year).  I've personally had the 3 major and for this area I list them best to not so great S, A, then V (again this is for where I live and yes BIG V doesn't work well at my place, your lucky if you get one bar of service and I live in a city).  At&t I had them when 3G was the big thing and the major issue I had with them was not the coverage it was constant dropped calls!

Anyways back to the T-mobile subject I personally would rather see Sprint take over T-mobile and keep the spectrum Sprint could use on the PCS side for example from what they got from Metro PCS and give the GSM to At&t.

  3. I finally caught up with the techs for the Rochester Market, I ask them about when they think Rochester's Full build sites will be done for LTE (before the GMO).  He said mid summer the majority Monroe county should be done, theres been some issues with downtown and the one in Greece.  I will NOT give out the reasons he gave me on here (the public form I dont want to get into too much detail with out breaking rules).   One last thing I asked the head supervisor was Spark, he said thats going to be a slow process but Late Q2014.

  4. This phone has held up really well. If it had the spark lte frequency bands I'd buy it again today.

I agree!  Its a solid phone, again its an older phone model now, and Sprint has discontinued it, I don't know why, heck they are offering WiMax devices on there site to this day! Also I found this phone to have the best speeds when I have done several speed tests.  I did 4 last night and I was able to average 31mps down and 9.5mps up.  We have solid speeds here, its consistent.

  5. Pretty quiet thread, I got a new LG Optimus G in late April this year (2014) (the person who bought it from only used it for a week).  I love the LGOG! Its an older phone now but its a great phone!!  There is one thing I am disappointed in is the LTE signal bars are the 1X/3G EVDO signal strength.  However not a BIG deal I have Signal Check PRO and have it set up on the notification bar.

This phone does live up to hanging onto a VERY WEAK 4G LTE signal which is a HUGE plus I think!  I live in a small city and there is a tower up side of town and one downtown (both are LTE) and before I was never able to keep the 4G LTE signal driving from up to downtown and same the other way around downtown to upper part of the city. I tested this on a couple of other devices.

Again I guess I don't need the latest and greatest smart phone but this phone is quite impressive, its not THAT OLD of a device really!  :tu:

  6. AT&T took the plunge. Let's see how far they can go with it and how it compares to the HD Voice offerings of Sprint and T-Mobile.

We have known about this for a while now...... Also, AT&T is OK in my opinion but I had dropped calls, and call that would not connect all the time with them back when 3G was the big thing.  I tried them recently with the 4G LTE and its "BETTER" but they still have a LOT of work to do, just like Sprint (Just saying!).

  7. I'm not sure on a lot of the new equipment deployed with the Network Vision upgrades, but on the old Lucent Mod 4.0 gear a restart command would take around that time for the radios to fire up again.

Well since the htcguy brought it up, I never really bothered me.  Still doesn't but I always wondered what was going on.... lol.....  The towers in my city are full builds, just no 800 because of the border (darn border!) All new equipment too.

  8. hats

Chances are you are correct about the sites being updated.  Usually switch updates are pushed during off peak hours.  Maintenance windows are usually during late night, when there is less load on the sites.

Thats what I was thinking, again I am not totally sure. For me it usually happens around 1AM and lasts about 5 mins max.

  9. Plus unfortunately AT&T and Vzw have the money and are usually tied to local government, city/towns for there services, an example EMS/Fire, Police.... Sprint may have a few county or cities that use them for there provider.  Another unfortunate thing is that AT&T (well not so much AT&T anymore), and Vzw own there own towers (well not ALL of them but you know what I mean...)

  10. I think part of what keeps this site up is simply the fact that complaints are not tolerated. Sprint doesn't want to have a bad reputation and we don't want them to have a bad reputation either. It's a win/win.

And I'm sure this site has saved Sprint from losing thousands of customers already.

Unfortunately only by a small amount though we only got 20K members (roughly I just checked what we had on here, lol)

  11. Hello all.

This maybe sort of off topic but I was wondering if anyone has or knows of maps similar to the ones on this site showing locations of Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile sites. I think it would be interesting comparing them to Sprints sites in terms of vicinity to each other.

    Thanks!

Good luck with that, I have access to one company you mentioned but the friend of mine would make sure my you know what would get kicked if I gave all the tower locations out.

In a way site locations are not THAT secret, I mean they are but arnt.... The big Red will never disclose any location/site numbers, etc I have YET to find even one site number or any other info on theres, T-mobile is the same way.

I suppose that's pretty sensitive data. I never really thought about that.

Yes and no. I mean a lot of reasons behind it is that they dont want damage to there equipment. There is more to it though
