I really don't like the sprint maps. They're outdated compared to other sites and they are wayyyy overzealous. I live in the north towns of Niagara Falls and I can say that I do get LTE in the falls, Lewiston, and I can get spits of it in Youngstown. Very small spits of it. Their map indicates ALL of WNY as a deep orange. Most of that map should be light orange and even more purple. It's nice to see, but I don't like how misleading it is. Just my 2 cents.
Ive talked about carrier maps on this site many times, Sprint is actually the most accurate, At&t is just like big red V now they just give you the color of service your going to get, and its very basic, its either you have service or you dont on their maps when you voice. When it comes to 3G or 4G LTE you get a general idea of what your going to get, but no street level difference. T used is be better when they had their green maps, they changed to pink to cover up all their 2G coverage which I think is stupid, its VERY misleading to a normal customer for them. Sprint still AT LEAST gives you street level Excellent, Good, Fair, No coverage, yes they are not always correct or great but who says wireless is perfect? ITS NOT! LOL!!!! At least Sprint gives you a general idea of what you MIGHT get at your house (outside street level). It all depends on your phone too, not all phones are created equally. I am not saying your wrong, because you are right, I agree with you, I wish they would revamp their map, Sprint is behind the times with coverage map! I agree with your situation about the "deep orange" they have my city as having deep orange coverage when that is NOT true when you are in the middle of the city you loose 4G LTE and drop down to 3G, it dont matter what phone you have (I have tried SEVERAL) and they just cant hold on to LTE the whole time (its because of the buildings).
With that being said I started out as a Sprint customer several years ago and left for another carrier thinking it was better when it was not I came back after a few years. Sprint has always had good coverage for my needs, LTE is a struggle sometimes in some places I go to, but that dont bother me much. Hey you put in your 2 cents, well there is my 2 cents, lol. You can disagree with me and thats fine I am not perfect either haha.

I personally like Time Warner Cable, I have never had much of any big issues with them for Internet, we get better then advertised speeds here, even during peek hours. The issue we always had with them is TV, even to this day we went back to the TV part of TWC and nothing has changed, its not any better then it used to be. Kinda wish we stuck with our dish (for the TV part).

Info about Acceptances on Sponsor maps need to be in the Sponsor or Premier Sponsor sections of the site.
Will do from now on, I was being VERY general and not specific about exact towers, I forgot we are not allowed to here,

Rochester has got the first 800 acceptance today (well 2 towers in the Rochester market)!! Now we are cookin! Hope to see more 800 soon, I thought 800 was going to at least be next year but looks like things are going fast!

Sprint is not overburdened with MVNO's. They should keep the open nature of their MVNO program. I think it's a smart move. And investors love it when companies make money, so therefore, I think it's an awesome option for Sprint to have. My plans to start my own MVNO are still in the works, however, funding is my only problem.

I see your point.

I have not had any issues but i dont live in hf.
-
I know Sprint wants the money but Sprint has way too many MVNOs lol (I think at least).

The finally got the other tower by EV Mall in Victor upgraded to LTE. I noticed it yesterday the whole time I was able to keep 4G LTE in the front of the mall facing 96.

Key word CITIES!! Once your outside of cities 2G "EDGE", Nothing has changed with T-mobile outside of cities in years, yes there VOICE and TEXT coverage will be just fine but beyond that good luck!!
-
I would say something but I wont....
-
Same here no throttling.
-
I go and check several towers at least once a week! (I do them in clusters (several at a time, I map them out and take a road trip!) I try and make it a loop to and from home or to and from where I need to go).

Same here, I bet they prefer doing it in clusters when most if not all of the sites are 800 ready.
Your lucky down there, I am in the Rochester, NY market it will be a while for us. For anything 800 that is.... If anything we would probably get Spark before 800. (you never know though!)

Now I heard this in the past, where ntelos owns towers in Roanoke, and they signed an agreement
heres what id do not understand
cities that have sprint towers
City name Population towers
Emporia va 5,588 10
Danville va 42,907 2
Harrisonburg va 51,395 72
Staunton va 23,921 2
Culpepper va 16,633 23
Winchester va 26,881 89
Ridgeway va 725 16
Bristol va 17,662 62
Franklin va 8,582 16
Galax va 6,908 2
Farmville va 8,161 7
Marion va 5,869 4
Roanoke va 97,469 0
i dont understand
how all does places can have towers and 4g but it is 2014 and Roanoke va does not and we are biggest and an hr away staunton va they have a total of 2 towers and we have none
That is NOT a Sprint native network area as in no Sprint owned towers, its an affiliate Ntelos....

They could use more still, just not right now....

Hello- I will be traveling to western MD soon (beyond native Sprint coverage). According to Sprint.com/coverage, there is roaming voice service, but no data? Does anyone know what network Sprint roams on in western MD (Garrett County)? Will I at least have 1x data available?
Most likely the big V.
-
They work good I have heard.

For me and the family its not complex. They leave the roaming off unless they are in a situation that they need it in. If they have to use it, it would be minimum. If I left the roaming on it would text me on and off during the day as I go in and out of roaming areas, if it would to warn me each time I was in a roaming area.
I am with you I keep mine off too, unless I know ill be in a area where I know ill need it. Other then that I never need to use it.
