  1. We need Robert to chime in here. I want to check out the towers but there's not many near where I live.
  2. So, before sprint reworked its map, you'd see that sprint is adding new towers in many areas. Since these are being added while they're doing NV, does that mean it has network vision equipment already installed? It seems like it'd be pointless to put old equipment on a tower. Just asking.
  3. The site being down had nothing to do with my 2g/3g data not being recorded. I've been trying to get my neighborhood/local areas that are unmarked added to the Sensorly map for a few weeks now. Nothing. I do wish Sensorly would help the few of us with issues.
  4. I went to the i95/Bay Meadows tower. Work is being done, there's a cable hanging from the tower. Here's some eye candy for you cell enthusiasts. And yes, one of the pictures has the guy working on it!!!
  5. That's exactly what it is. For 2g/3g. I have 2mbps speeds on 3g at my house, which is where I stop the mapping.
  6. I still can't get sensorly to record my area with data points. I've mapped them numerous times and nothing. I emailed sensorly and no support. I want to contribute but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm on stock gs3 (sph-L710). When I finish mapping the area, hit end and make sure I'm in an area with strong data so it can upload the results.
  7. They removed like 5/6 towers in my area from that map. Most of there were voice upgrades but now the only tower left on the map of my area has a voice upgrade.
  8. I don't know... Spank is new and young and besides, the tmobile chick is doing a good job.
  9. It all depends on tower location. My work has excellent Wimax coverage, but that's because it's literally right next to the building. At my house, roughly 2 miles away, I get near to no signal. 2500mhz is very high band with relatively low building penetration/coverage. The frequency requires additional towers for optimal performance.
  10. I wouldn't mind them doing this. Imagine LTE 800 on a 20x20mhz band.
  11. Oh, I misunderstood that then. I was half asleep during the Q&A anyways.
  12. I'm on my parents family plan, but they've been with Sprint since 1999. In 2004, my parents changed ownership names (Account used to be in my mother's name, now it's in my father's name.) due to the corporate discount at my father's job. So I called in behalf of my father when they told me Sprint had premier for 10 yr customers and I told them I've been with them since '99 and after a week of talking to CS, they finally expedited the claim and later that week I finally became a premier customer. Now it doesn't matter because they removed it, but yes, it took me a few phone calls and them tracing my name over their records.
  13. I don't want to appear as I'm arguing, I'm just ignorant of this. But why would LTE sims matter? They've already got them imbedded into our phones.
  14. I'm holding out too. I'm in Zip 32259 so anywhere near me will definitely be found when it comes live. Just give it time.
  15. I agree it's likely but Hesse stated the opposite at the Q&A.
  16. Sprint's been going on and on about consistency and average speeds (6-8 mbps compared to their competitors who's speeds are much higher). This isn't a problem, but when Clearwire comes into the picture, they're rolling out 20x20 Mhz spectrum in many markets, this means that speeds can roughly be up to 90 mbps, right? Is Clearwire adding more towers, overlaying their spectrum on Sprint towers, or just deploying LTE Advanced on their current Clearwire Wimax towers? Also, what's keeping Clearwire from deploying LTE Advanced now? Is it funding? I know they have the spectrum required for such a task, but with Softbank/Sprint investment, wouldn't it be a good idea for Clearwire to start its rollout or... what?
  17. This right here was my favorite reason for being with Sprint. I'm a phone techie and I need my new devices on a shorter schedule than usual.
  18. Everywhere I've been so far in Southern Jacksonville to Starke, Florida has had eHRPD active. I'm glad that it's active down there, too. LTE sites gotta be lighting up in our area soon. The backhaul is probably already installed at many sites, we just need them to install the panels!
  19. There's no bird nests on my tower, So lte must be coming!
  20. I don't understand much of these regulations, but wouldn't Sprint be safe because of their plans to rollout lte advanced on Clearwire towers?
  21. There's a lot of sprint haters in xda even in the sprint forums. It kind of makes me angry that people still spew anti-sprint posts and have already moved onto Verizon. I guess whatever they can do to justify their monthly payments, eh?
  22. I agree fully, I think if sprint made it more known that the lte is still in progress, it'd change alot of people's mindset. Everyone has a friend that has att or Verizon and of course they're going to brag about their speeds. And I know it's frustrating, but once Sprint's network becomes better, I'll be the one showing off my speeds/reception.
  23. I was literally about to make this thread the other day but for some reason avoided it. Now since it's up, I can share my thoughts. I think it's annoying hearing people leave sprint due to "spotty LTE coverage". Most of us don't even have LTE signal, but they're leaving because they think it's a finished product and the maps display the completed coverage. These maps on sprint need to be changed to reflect current coverage, so far nothing good has come out of this false advertising.
