Ya I saw today in Waterford at buffalo wild wings I had -87 dBm meaning the tower is now live. I'm gonna do a complete mapping tomorrow.
Nice! Anyone grab speed tests? Would love to know how the performance is at peak time.

I'm down in Stuart right now. And oh my god. 29 download , 6 upload and ping of 36..... I can't upload the picture it won't let me keeps saying its too big.
I had speeds like that one night in Sarasota after dropping off my cat. I was literally dumbfounded.

The signal is probably worse than -115dbm. You were on the edge of the tower range most likely.
Agree. I find that less than -110 becomes unusable.

Got unusable LTE in downtown Orlando, down by the science center. I can connect to it for a second but its knocking me off
Maybe still testing? I experienced that when they were working on the Ocoee water tower. They also are waiting on backhaul I believe.

I've known most of the guys since high school as they were resource officers when I was there, and they sort of took a liking to ROTC cadets as most of them are ex-army rangers but they're pretty lax when it comes to pulling people over, unlike OPD. I've been speeding through the city since I got my license at 17, and twelve years later - never have gotten a ticket, no accident, nothing.
I own a radar detector to ensure no problems in Winter Park :-)

Hopefully that's the only thing you'll do there :-)Think I'll be making a trip down to the police department this weekend and do some mapping!

Looks like LTE is down at WP Towers, had it for two solid weeks and today I can't connect, phone is switching between EVDO and eHRPD. Resetting the connection doesn't do anything either.
Hate when that happens in winter garden...

Well this is a disappointment.. So apparently the Daytona area launched? I looked on the map and there's a small purple cloud over my house(figures) but the parts showing LTE coverage in port orange are a total and complete lie..
The cake is a lie!!

They are probably using RootMetrics.
T-Mobile chooses RootMetrics CoverageMap app for carrier comparisons
Thanks, I see what you mean. I'd love to know what their coverage is like where I live. DH has been talking about leaving Sprint forever, and at this point I'm happy for whatever means I don't have to hear about how much he hates Sprint :-)
-
So stupid question, I've heard it said before that Sensorly isn't super accurate for T-Mo, but if that's the case, what app do T-Mo people use? I've been wanting to evaluate their coverage in my area as so far the only experience I've had is an (old) international Mifi of mine being unable to get 3G service in my house.

One of my sources reported getting LTE downtown, though he didn't have Signal Check installed when he rolled through (gasp!) or sensorly, so I won't know anything about strength or where it might have been coming from until tomorrow.

Does anyone have seen any site with 1X 800 around orlando?
I have yet to see one, and I don't think any have been accepted yet.

In layman's terms.. Fatter pipe but less coverage on the higher frequency. It will benefit everyone even with older phones as newer phones will use the additional capacity.
Good point, long term even those who don't have triband support will at least see 1900 ease up since 2600 will help offload a lot of traffic.
-
Interesting.....Is there a benefit to the clear-wire frequency as opposed to their existing ones in terms of like range, or anything else.....? It obviously means more coverage, but if no phones can use it...errrrr
Bottom line is that at some point when 1900 is fully rolled out, it will start to get really crowded and slow down. 2600 will have a very large amount of capacity and will provide much faster LTE to those whose phones support it.

Will the iPhone 5 work on the clear-wire spectrum?? I am just curious because I was reading up and it says that the new spectrums are not supported with most of sprints phones.....which would piss me off at an astronomical level.
Only phone that we "know" to have support for Clearwire frequencies is the LG G2 if I'm not mistaken. The next iPhone might, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Damn, looking at Sensorly today, looks like a lot of progress in the area has been made in the last week or so
Yeah, after a brief lull things seem to be really picking up.

I took some pictures of the Sprint tower south of Lake Mary, on the north end of Longwood, and just west of Ronald Reagan (427). Click on the thumbnail for a high resolution shot. From what I can gather with my phone there is no LTE coming from the tower, but the 3G data speeds from my vantage point were pretty good: 1.5 Mbps download / 900 kbps upload / 110 ms ping on average.
Nice pic indeed. I never have anything with a zoom lens on me when I'm out and about, so I end up having to awkwardly take burst photos while driving by and hoping they come out :-)
-
Well.... With Waterford having a lot of people... I sure hope they supercharge that tower lol
I've experienced the unusable LTE in the Waterford area and I agree. They need as much capacity as they can manage there.

wait, so the more "racks" the more juice a single tower can pump out?
It's more an implication that it's likely a shared tower, but I don't know that for sure.

I4 and 434 tower being worked on. No clue if its sprint. Hard to drive and take pictures lol.
That is A LOT of racks. And we could probably spot our fellow S4GRU members just by looking for dudes obsessively taking photos of cell towers.

So the Ocoee Water tower is marked 3G only. Would explain why when I was able to very briefly get LTE the speeds were disappointing. Here's hoping whichever providers gets off its butt fast. I NEED LTE :-)
-
Well i won't Include Verizon lol and we all know why xD
But here:
Sprint :
Alaska:
No 4G shown.
Tmobile:
Alaska:
NO 4G shown.
ATT:
Alaska:
Verizon:
No map yet. Not comparable just quite yet.
Alaska:
As of 7-24-2013
It Seems as if att and Sprint are close.
I'll try to update this once a month. I just thought this was interesting. It says alot lol
Only ATT and Verizon have a dot of coverage in Alaska.
This will be super interesting to see once 800 kicks into high gear. There's gonna be a whole lot of purple for Sprint :-)

No Sprint LTE
-Luis
It's a shame too, when I heard that it would have such wide LTE support, I was quite hopeful. Maybe a new Sprint model down the line (he wished).
-
Not upgrading to anything without Tri-band support.

Awesome. Even an average of 2mbps would've been an incredible improvement lol
