  1. The start of NV. The hand off was horrible period. But now I've had no problems, my phone even connects to towers that are in testing stages with no problems and NO prl updates.

Orlando is still a bit of a patchwork of legacy and NV towers as well as having several that can be quite overloaded during the day, so it really just depends on what I'm handing off to. There's lots of eHRPD on towers here that aren't upgraded yet, so sometimes the eHRPD is dog slow that I'm switching to.

  2. Looks like there isn't any Ericsson NV equipment up yet but it the tower comes down, the tower company is going to have to come back and put a new one up first. Who knows what their schedule is.

    Glad that's not my tower!

  3. Id say stick to the plan you have right now.

    Per the sprint site "

Discounts apply to the monthly data charge rather than the primary rate plan for lines on the Unlimited, My Way plan. The My All-in plan is non-discountable."

    @l3x

Yup. Unless my plan suddenly gains a cap or throttling, I'm staying with what I have.

  4. That's what I thought I read somewhere too. So I wouldn't get the discount...Would there be any benefit to switching over or should I just stick with my plan.

I'm on the family plan from before these new plans. I get 25% off the line one plan, so they can get me off this plan when they pry it out of my cold dead hands.

  5. IS that a better plan for 3 people? We have a family plan and I have a discount from my AAA card, which I no longer have but they keep discounting me....My bill with insurance for my phone is 77. Everyone elses is like 66...

I thought they didn't discount the fully unlimited plans?

  6. That's strange. Something is up with the 1x in your area. It's possible they're making the switch from Legacy to NV 3G. I noticed some huge issues like that east of where I live when they switched over to NV 3G. It took a couple of days, but it went back to normal once the switch was finished.

I'm noticing little bugs here and there with Voice service in my area as of late. Makes me think perhaps they're doing testing as sometimes I can't place calls until I've reached a different tower than the one near me.

  7. This is what happens when:
    A: A 4G tower bursts into flames
    B: A 4G tower is overloaded
C: Sprint decides to start messing with me
    D: A 4G tower doesn't actually have backhaul yet.

    Wonder which?

  8. Was over there the other day in Hercules...at least I think thats what its called. Friends have an apartment thing there, and I had excellent coverage. Even clocked 2 mb down on 3g. Is it bad that everywhere I go if I notice the signal appears to be better I test the data speeds. LOL

    Resistance is futile.

  9. Alright guys I have a layover at Memphis International Airport on my way back to Orlando from Houston. Here's the speed test I got here just for the heck of it lol

Reminds me of the great LTE coverage in Atlanta. Too bad I have no desire to live in GA.

  10. I was propositioned by a hooker on the OBT 22 years ago, the weekend after I got my drivers license. Glad to see things haven't changed after all these years. SMH

  11. I was at EPCOT Saturday and maintained a fairly steady 4g throughout the park, It was even usable most of the time. Nice change from the last time I was at that park in April.

Yeah, Sprint has overall done a commendable job getting the Disney area to a more usable state, especially considering how unbearable it used to be. They need to get the tower south of AK done and then roll out LTE800 to really get the park covered though, as a lot of the bigger buildings and foliage really break down that 1900 LTE signal.

  12. Cheep cheap! Midrange phone, cheap cheep price.

True but since most people still buy their phones on contract, the pricing difference is often completely mitigated if one just gets the right Wirefly/Amazon Wireless/etc deal. I'm also a total spec whore who is ALWAYS wanting something more, so it would drive me absolutely bonkers to have something mid-range, even if I did get some tiny little concession in device pricing (plan pricing is where the biggest expense is anyways).

  13. Yep. And Samsung and AT&T have started replacing them free of charge for the first one only.

*Waterproof doesn't mean water won't get into the phone, just that it can be placed nearby water without peril.
