I wonder if we got the same tower?

New 4G tower at Winter Garden Village! I mapped it via sensorly while I was there and will try and map more, but here's a speed test :-D

Ocoee seems as though it has degraded as well. I now get highs of 600kbps and lows of about 50kbps or so.

I think that area is also in the fringes of coverage from some of the completed towers near Altamonte/Maitland if I'm not mistaken. I certainly have noticed that the fringes of coverage at Epcot was pretty poor performance wise. Contrast that with performance at the TTC where I was getting 5Mbps+ down consistently.

So they must be working on a tower near Sand Lake Road and Dr Phillips today because when I switched over to mobile I noticed that I was constantly acquiring and dropping both 3G and the Analog signal, and the 3G speed is laughably slow, even for Sprint. At least I hope that it's just tower work.

I hear you. I did receive LTE in the Auburndale area while driving to Lakeland. The speeds were blazing fast and I had it for about a good 10 minutes. I just hope that that kind of speed and service comes here to Maitland and Orlando.
Same here - I had amazing LTE while in the Sherman Oaks area a few weeks back, so hoping its like that here.

I work in Maitland so I constantly check for LTE but the closest that I have seen was at exit 92 for Altamonte Springs and the speeds were terrible which leads me to believe that the tower was far or still being worked on. I do get excellent 3G though with full bars. I used to get full 4G WiMax with my EVO 3D.
Yeah back when I had the GS2 I got pretty good WiMax in the Maitland/Altamonte area as well. Ocoee got barely a lick of WiMax, and so far no 4G action. Oh well. Here's hoping it won't be the summer of no LTE.

Has anyone drive around the Maitland area? I did a few weeks back and didn't get a lick of LTE. But I see on the map there is a site complete near maitland blvd and I4. Is the coverage just that bad from the tower?

West Orlando is pretty much an LTE black hole also.

I haven't been in park to check, but my dentist on Kirkman road doesn't seem to get any LTE love.

Pacific Coast Highway if I'm not mistaken...

I almost always have abysmal 3G at Disney. Cant wait for LTE to fully roll out there.

I was driving down the south end of the 429 near 192 and picked up some LTE for the first time ever, but I don't know if there's any new towers other than the one on WDW and the one out in Lake County.

I'm in Sherman Oaks today, and I gotta say, if the LTE here is anything like what Orlando will eventually get, I'll be very happy with 4G. Consistently getting between 8-10Mbps Down, about 1.5Mbps Up, which in some cases is like 100x better than what I get in the Orlando area.

LOL. The biggest problem is that they didn't get to pick them either. It's based on availability of backhaul now. So you would have to had access to the backhaul vendor for your area to get your site a priority.
Well my partner has as a student someone who's subcontracting for Ericcson and claimed that the backhaul was already put in place at the tower that serves me, and 3G does seem somewhat liveable at times, but it's still kind of a hot mess and far from LTE. Oh well, I just hope Robert doesn't mind the fact that I check that Site Complete map at least twice a day.

I totally understand you on that. You also have contractors who are sitting on building permits for some reason or another and maybe they are understaffed. And for me, seeing that the Lower Central Valley market still hasn't started while even Vegas has is a strain to bear with, but I'm holding on. And I like being selfish too, but Sprint won't pay attention to me either.
LOL, yeah they forgot to ask me in what order I wanted the towers deployed in Orlando. Oh well, maybe next time :-)
-
City and County inspections have to be signed off, then Sprint's hired inspectors have to sign off of them, then Sprint can mark the sites complete. It can take time for all this to happen.
Don't get me wrong, I get that there's probably a logistical mountain to climb to make each site happen (to say nothing of dealing with I-4 traffic), I'm just venting and wishing out loud that Sprint would launch Orlando already (or at least the Ocoee area if I can be selfish) :-)
-
Man I'm trying to keep the faith but when is Orlando going to REALLY get underway? Seems like all the in progress sites have been that way for quite a number of weeks... :-(

Hello, any news on when Orlando looks to receive LTE? I remember seeing mention that we were in round 2. Is that still true?

I actually tend to avoid using my phone for much when at Wgv because data has been so horrible. So imagine my surprise when checking the time turned into a 4G discovery. Mapped all the way from Starbucks down Daniels road to 4Rivers which is around where coverage seemed to die off.
