I agree, a reuter article came out earlier
Source here: https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1KR22P?__twitter_impression=true
The approval period could last longer then a year.. Now my take on might be called crazy , but this gives Sprint time and a roaming agreement from tmo that will help with customer satisfaction could lower their churn and help them gain market share. Now I'm not saying that softbank did it this way to buy them time, but 6-12 months (possibly longer)in the wireless industry is a long time lots can change.. Sprint is making strides as shown by John saw and the improvements at the Yankees stadium today... Sprint could make some great strides on their wireless network...
Market share is important, but the wireless industry isn't going anywhere and there is always room to grow.. I think Sprint need to start offering unlimited hotspot and better push on marketing and I think it will work .. just my opinion

The only problem I have with Sprint is the roaming holes In their native network footprint here. Like they can improve upon that by densifying and adding some sites. Obviously that’s a given the cost hundreds of thousands of dollars for even a couple of them. But something has to be done because it’s really bad where my parents are.

Just noticed 10x10+5x5 B25 in Weehawken hitting 30mbs+ with really low signal indoors.

Sounds like 4 x 4 mimo?

At this point, in most cases I would suspect an 8T8R or 16 port is most likely, but given your area they could do MIMO.
in my market i know of one 8T8R site in town...but only 2 carrier aggregation last time i checked...

That is what they have said, Extended, unlimited.
I hope so because I eventually would like to see sprint enable it for where I live .

That is what John Saw said. He was very specific.
IF the area has roaming enabled. It will use LTE on T-mobile and other partners.
Will it be limited in terms of how much you can use?
-
For me it will depend on price, the s9+ reduced price, versus waiting for 5g phones in January.
For me to get the phone eventually it would have to depend on the number of things. For example improved battery life. I heard that the galaxy note 8 did not even have a wide angle or telephoto lens. I looked into it and The note 8 does not have either one. So for me I’m looking for improvement in the battery and camera department. They should take an example from LG with the wide-angle lens at least.

If roaming is allowed in that area and your phone does not have Sprint LTE, then it will roam on T-Mobile (or other partner) LTE.
I m glad to hear that:)

I haven't heard of anyone yet. Update your PRL, maybe there is an update?
hmm that makes me think...what about areas within sprints own service foot print that have either really poor service or just regular verizon roaming?

That's fine I will take my chances. Can't guarantee it works if you're not on Sprint though...

I guess I'll try Android messages then. I'll take your word for it.RCS works great among my family and the people I know on Sprint. I convinced them to use Android Messages so that RCS would work between all of us.

Exactly so that's why I don't use Galaxy phones anymore because RCS doesn't work right. TMobile needs to fix all of this. That's what I mentioned in my original post, T Mobile's implementation is all screwed up, and only works on galaxy devices.

I guess it just varies. But I had the T-Mobile version of RCs. And my buddy who has T-Mobile says that the RCs is unreliable. I can confirm that cuz half the time I did not get notifications saying it was even delivered.Works fine for me..

The whole point of it is to replace both sms and mms, and it works pretty well on Sprint, not so much on Tmobile.
The RCs doesn't work right at all. SMS actually works a lot better. Half the time I didn't even get notifications saying it was delivered.

Well, this is why people use programs such as Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp. Because their friends use it gives them RCS like capabilities, while being able to import their "low class" SMS messages.
It isn't really worthless when more than half the USA market uses Android. iPhone has even less share around the world. For example the Chinese market share for Android is almost 75% whose market is 3x larger than the USA. So yeah, RCS is a big deal.
Many other apps support RCS, such as VZW messaging, but have yet to implement the universal profile.I found rcs on t mobile to be kinda unreliable...didnt work right half of the time

I had band 71 capable phone the Galaxy S9 Plus it's still then work out great for me. But for those that love TMobile which is fine and their continued improvements which I would like to see continued eventually I would switch back. But for now for where I go to mobile is not a suitable option but for those that love them more power to them:-)In Wyoming you have to have a Band 71 phone for certain as sites are Band 4 and Band 71. Going to be similar here soon if you want the BEST experience.

I went through that area just a month ago and coverage wasn't that great for where I went and which was also around Sundance so I unfortunately have to switch myself out to AT&TGreetings everyone. Finally reporting from the Black Hills of South Dakota and Northern Wyoming. T-Mobile has done a rock solid job in Wyoming. All mapped on Cellmapper. Only hole is at Sundance, however, a site looks like it's coming there. This gives solid T-Mobile coverage on I-90 from the South Dakota/Wyoming border through Gillette and beyond. Will map sites beyond and across to Sheridan WY after the Sturgis motorcycle rally. In South Dakota, 600mhz is here. Black Hawk SD site was upgraded yesterday. Catron Blvd site is scheduled next-LIVE date is showing 22AUG18. Keystone and Wall are also scheduled for August. Expect many more to come. The Golden West tower in Sturgis that T-Mobile was using as a temp tower during the rally is being upgraded to a full suite permanent site. Band 2/4/12 like the other tower in Sturgis. Rapid City has been promised 4 new sites by EOY. I expect them sooner. Will advise when I know more. Things are hopping and Sprint is now in the mix as well. It's a great time for this area.

I might actually get a unlocked iPhone instead I don't know yet. But Samsung is still a choice with the S8 thoughNot sure, I bought mine from samsung unlocked to avoid bloat. That's one thing I like about apple.

I thought Sprint has 240mhz
Any event I say this is brilliant, and assume this is a nice way to keep the spectrum in the family vs selling to ATT
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkAT & T doesn't need anymore spectrum. They have enough of it and not enough Network investment.

I did see that as well, but TMO is still at least 400 thousad square miles behind Verizons LTE coverage.. and some of there band 71 is still not cleared.. I don't see that happening anytime soon.. the only one that can maybe match that date is att.. if att even wants to do that
Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I see that TMobile already had the band 71 license for released for this area so it's all good. Just needs to be taken care of now. To launch it.
