i cant seem to get it to work on my nexus 5x but i could be doing it wrong i suppose.
-
does this work on the Nexus 5X with cell Mapper?
-
Looky what the recent profile update enabled.
what? CA and LTE roaming has been enabled on my 5x since I first activated it shortly after it was released.
-
anyone else unable to use the debug / data menus? When i click "Edit" for something like LTE priority or really edit under any section, it crashes. Done it since i got the phone.
-
just got another network initiated profile / network update.

interesting development if true. i dont have an easy way to test since USCC is so big up here i dont know how to force verizon. Didnt Claure say he wanted to stop paying verizon so much each month? This would be quite an about face to happen. Possibly Verizon just wanted to monetize their EVDO network more now that so many users have been moved over to LTE for them.

From Reddit:
These new PRLs come on the heels of the last release on 12/4/2015. There are two changes in the new PRLs.
-
Several versions of the PRLs have been consolidated into 14 Sprint PostPaid/MVNO PRLs and 8 Prepaid PRLs. There is no longer a distinction between CL and IL PRLs so these PRLs can be combined as CL and IL subscribers will have the same coverage.
-
The preferred Roaming Partner in Carbondale, IL has been changed. We cannot reveal the name of any of our roaming partners. This change does not affect coverage in that market. No changes, increases or decreases, have been made to Sprint's roaming coverage footprint with these new PRLs.

Ditto here.... hoping for something exciting....
Sort of hoped it was to enable LTE roaming on USCC and such but I guess not.
-
I woke up this morning with a notification in the app drawer (with a white triangle) that said "Network Upgrade (may have said update) Complete"
Anyone else get it? Dont really know what changed. Was this just a network initiated profile update?
-
I was hoping all week that it would directly hit us up here in maine to give us a dusting but nooooooo.

Didn't realize it was this easy! Just checked for the N6 and it works flawlessly. I wonder if there is a way to setup a shortcut to open that tab directly. I'm glad you posted about this, I cannot STAND the look of the Google Voice app.
Tapping a new voicemail notification will bring you right to that tab. Whats strange is that if I delete the message within the dialer it is still sitting in the inbox of the google voice app. not a huge deal but i hope they expire off after 30 days like they do in the trash can.

That is big, amazing it took sprint/google this long to get VM working properly.
I think this is all googles doing. i dont see a way to integrate with sprint voicemail directly so you would have to have google voice handle voicemails.
-
Flashing the newest software and being unrooted and such did nto fix my camera.
Also, I found something sweet...the Voicemail tab within the native dialer now works for those who use google voice to handle voicemail! FINALLY decent visual voicemail works again. You just have to enable it within the google voice app to show voicemails in the dialer tab. This is huge to me.

Why it's not shown as available, I do not know. Either the correct bands are not available, or Sprint/USCC decided not to offer roaming in that area.
I guess I dont understand why you said that specific area in NH does not have USCC roaming. USCC has LTE there, why wouldnt it be?
-
It's not an area that has USCC LTE roaming. Not sure what it is.
What USCC areas make the cut for roaming or not? I thought if the appropriate band was present then roaming was available from them? If not, is this why southern maine has no USCC roaming while the rest of the state does?
-
NH has a blotch of Enhanced LTE only coverage. No LTE, no 3G. Beginning of VTel LTE agreement kicking in?
Wouldnt that be US cellular LTE roaming?
-
Im on MMB29K. Will give it a try I guess.

"30 GB+ 4G LTE data-only plan (with no throttling, suspension or overage charges after 30 GB"
Which is just a long way of saying an unlimited plan? What is the significance of even saying 30 gigs?

As I previously posted, the camera on my nexus 5X is busted (still). I realized I have cell phone protection on my credit card so I am going that route first. The claim is set but all they need now is a quote for a repair (or statement saying it is not worth fixing) from a repair center or the manufacturer.
Will the Sprint repair center look at these? I thought i remember reading they dont deal with them because they arent sold via Sprint. Surely they could write a quote (regardless of how much) factoring in the hoops and stuff they would need to jump through to actually fix it.
If not (and more likely) I will need to find a local shop who does repairs on these.
-
What if you sell your device? Let your spouse / friend use your device? You cant agree to terms for someone else.
I was going to say make it a cookie to remember for X days, but I suppose you would still run the risk of above.
-
cool stuff always happens when you dont have a camera available doesnt it? A police chase just ended in my driveway! Anyways, should i assume it is a bad camera and not a software issue and contact google about it?

Does A restart fix it? I had that problem with my Nexus 5. It was a broken camera module.
Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
No a restart does not fix it.
In the play store, i clicked uninstall for the camera...does that roll back to an old / prior version? if so, that did not work either.
