  1. If all your worried about is marketing just call LTE 5G and LTE-A 6G 3GPP/ITU-R be damned. As long as its not EVDO or HSPA using a 4G indicator on the phone is fine by me. People who want to know can dig into the status page on the phone or get a widget that displays it. This is all just my two cents but I think they made the gap between 3G and 4G too wide.
  2. From what i understand it is literally flipping a switch(few bits in the towers broadcast change stop indicating reserved status)
  3. Last tower looks like a relay site. All I see is four dishes but it's hard to tell with the resolution.
  4. I almost got NATE/ATC certified back when I was working for a company doing back haul as finding good climbers is hard. Glad I didn't in hindsight. We never had a fatality but there were a few close calls.
  5. Here's my install currently only one indoor antenna. Took my signal level on my Gnex from best -93dB to -75dB, and worst -120dB to -93dB. Parts list: 805045 - Wilson Electronics dual band 800/1900 65dB Amplifier 304411 - Wilson Electronics dual band yagi 301121 - Wilson Electronics dual band ceiling mount Omni 952320 - 20Ft LMR-400 952350 - 50Ft LMR-400 P8AX09 - Citel Gas discharge surge suppressor(I had these on hand, can be substituted with Wilson PN 859902) In the picture of the amplifier it is not yet grounded. I cannot stress how important it is to properly ground the surge suppressor.
  6. The Austin/Dallas map is in sponsors area. We're looking at July to August here in Leander.
  7. It is an odd situation. I lean towards an issue with a some centralized switch instead of backhual but that's just a hunch. Maybe some insider can shed more light on what has/is happening.
  8. The Austin area is having issues with voice and text messages on Sprint today. Data seems to work ok. I have heard through the grapevine that Sprint CS is reporting issues may persist until Friday. Strangely my AT&T phone is also affected.
  9. I'm installing a wilson system in my home now. I will post pictures once its all finished.
  10. Found the Austin map in the sponsor area, the first three towers I posted are AU73XC460, DA04XC049, and AU73XC461 respectively. Not sure why the tower at 3460 N Lakeline blvd has a DA at the beginning. Robert if you update those with the relative times NV work starts I'll go take pictures as work progresses.
  11. None of these towers are on the map. The only Austin market towers on there are the Waco FIT. I am pretty sure none of the towers I posted have had the NV upgrade. What I thought was the NV equipment looks to actually be Clear WiMax gear, got the MW wrong too(its 11G and 23G so I was close). I'll try to get some pics after the NV upgrades.
  12. Last site is AU13XC085 the other three I do not know. One is an ATC tower, one is CCI, and the third I could not access the base. Other than looking at the NOCC contact placard is there a way to find the Sprint site ID?
  13. One more tower before the Rain rolls in BID 235. Forgot to mention these are all NID 22.
  14. First post so please bear with me. Scoped out the towers around my house here in the suburbs of Austin. The following are BID 376, 78, 979 respectively. The first two towers are using remote radios but I'm not sure what frequency. New MW dishes too in the 38Ghz and 23Ghz bands, not sure what brand I've been away from backhaul for a while now. Maybe someone else can chip in with their thoughts. I've been mapping towers and coverage out on the cellmapper.net site.
