  1. Has Las Vegas deployed a 2nd B25 carrier?

I'm not sure if the 2nd 5x5 B25 carrier broadcasts independently or not. Out in Pahrump I get the 10x10 B25 carrier about 95% of the time, and the original 5x5 on rare occasions.

Every time I'm paying attention and have B25 while in Vegas it's 10x10 only.

  2. Lol the network had better be flawless by the time that the Raiders get here! That's more than enough time to work any kinks out.

With 3 years on the clock, they better have a super high class network in that area by the time the new Raiders Stadium is built.

  3. I think they said it can reach 100 meters outside which is about 300 feet. Also imagine if you're in a neighborhood that has a few of these turned on. It can probably cover the whole neighborhood pretty good (depending how spaced out they are and how big the neighborhood is of course)

Positive. That is what got me excited about it. An airave that doesnt need a user's internet for back haul isn't that exciting to me. I listen to his part of the call twice.

Again, depends on the building they are in, and that's best case scenario there. I would imagine in most cases coverage is closer to 100 feet. Tim might be able to give a better answer...

Hmm, the Magic Box will basically cover my house and the land it sits on. I sit about 1/3 of the way back on an acre of land, which is 294' long and 165' wide. So it should give me decent outdoor signal all over my yard. I'll like that. It'll work better than the range on the Wifi Connect.

  4. As of my last bill, it was still $20 for me, but I might be grandfather in at that price. I guess I'll find out on my next bill.

You are grandfathered in. New tablets on that plan will be $30/mo and a $5 auto pay discount.

  5. It's actually $20 a month if you set up auto pay.

The Hotspot works well. You can actually have it use 2.4 or 5 ghz wifi if you go into the advanced settings.

No B41 CA as far as I can tell. I'm fairly certain it's just single carrier. The last update was in October 2016. It does run Android 6.0, so it's fairly up to date. It would be nice to get 7.0, but I don't know if Samsung will put the effort into it at this point. I also bought mine for around $100 new on ebay. I wouldn't pay more than that. It runs everything fairly well except for the PlayStation Vue app. It takes awhile for it to load, but once it's playing something, it then plays OK. It's a decent mid range tablet.

If I can find a Tab S2 at a decent price though, I may buy it to replace the Tab E since it has higher spec internals and screen. Unfortunately, they're hard to find since Samsung hasn't manufactured them for a while now.

^^^^^^Cool, thanks for the quick response! I guess that makes sense since we have the auto pay already setup with the unlimited freedom plan with two lines. $20 isn't bad at all for unlimited data with 10 gigs of hotspot :) It would be for our kids to use when we're out and about in the car or somewhere else.

Yea it's a good deal through Sprint $100 off, but you have to keep it for the 2 years to obtain that final price of $100 with the $4 credit they give you monthly. So maybe I will look for it used on Ebay or Craigslist?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, it is $25/mo after auto-pay discount. Sprint did raise the rate by $5/mo about a month and a half ago or so.

  6. Remeber that some site use AT&T as the backhaul & when I was at Bally's last month service showed strong yet the reality was bad could not do much live streaming on facebook nor snapchats were failing to upload I have an HTC 10

AT&T had no backhaul service or wireline ISP services in Vegas that I've ever been aware of.

  7. I wonder how many utilized it. The two year upgrade cycle has been shoved down our throats for so long I wonder if most were picking 24 months.

Probably most people were picking 18 mo leases and 24 month Installment billing because the pricing didn't look so crazy compared to the 17 month option.

  8. I have not been here long enough to check out the entire strip. But the excaliber-tropicania area was bad yesterday. Going to travel some other areas on foot today along the strip. Out of the strip area, I did find some very good areas yesterday. Is it possible that we only have one carrier for band 41 here? I only see #40072 in the debug screen. How many thousands of tourists can be packed in the 6 or so hotels within range of this site that is running so slow.

There is definitely 2 Band 41 carriers in Vegas. I have seen other phones connected to it. I forgot to check when I was at Best Buy in Summerlin last Thursday night to see how speeds were. (Too busy putting my 7 Plus in its new Otterbox Defender.)

  9. I had problems in Vegas about 2 monts ago at the Orleans. The LTE signal was strong, but slow. The hotel was packed with teen and preteens for cheer event. I put my phone on 3G only and got decent data for 3G. Once the cheer event was over 4G had excellent speeds. Teen and preteen girls can use their phones alot.

The Orleans has one of the best Bowling Alleys in the west, so I'm sure when all the professional bowlers are around, it slows down too.

  10. I understand. I hope this weekend my wife and I can go to the Sprint store in town and see if we can reduce our current spend for the current services from Sprint. I believe we can save approximately 80 to 100 dollars a month. Will just have to ask and see.

Hopefully you will be able to save. I'm dropping back to Framily with 3GB data so my bill doesn't go up much for upgrading.

  11. I am holding out for the next model. Hopefully it will support HPUE. I did spend the gift card from the raffle last month for a new iPad Pro for my wife. She dropped her last iPad and shattered the screen but it was having other issues before then. I also invested in a new Lifeproof Nuud case for it. Let us hope it survives.

The only reason I did upgrade is because I wanted out of my Lease. HPUE won't affect me too much because I have usable B26 at home when I'm not using Wifi. When B41 finally launches I'll be a happy camper though.

  12. Verizon will likely try for Comcast instead IMO. They would be better off with Comcast's entertainment and fiber assets for 5G and they can divest their remaining NE footprint of traditional Telcom and Fios to Frontier. It would greatly increase their fiber and home footprint.

Which, ironically enough, Frontier would be a takeover target by someone or something when taking over the old Bell Atlantic.

Verizon and Comcast would be great together! Both overcharge for service, and then it's all be under one roof. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

  13. Ok, so I bought a V20 off Swappa.

I get the device, go online and the HEX is bad. I call, wait a little and get told the device is still activated. The phone still has a sim in it, so I see if it works. Well, it works. I head to the Sprint Zone app to see if I can get account details. This guy leases the phone, owes $700 on it still and current payment is past due. The owner IS the seller so I know it isn't stolen.

So... I reached out to see what is up. Going to try to send the phone back because he'll owe several hundred more on it compared to what I paid him. BUT, I kinda think this guy is dumping and running while taking me money.

If this guy ignores me and his bill lapses, goes to claims or whatever, Im out what I bought it for? It is through PayPal so I should be able to get my money back if this guy doesn't respond.

That scares me that Swappa prides themselves on protecting the buyer from things like this and clearly they aren't. I would let them know and both they and PayPal should help you get a full refund.
