  1. Oh' date=' I don't know. Some of us Android fanboys can be just as bad as the fruit fanboys.

Sure Apple produces an inferior product with an inferior ios and an inferior customer experience. But the way some of us go on and on about how evil Apple is are starting to sound like sour grapes. Next someone is going to accuse Apple of getting babies to work on the iPhone assembly lines. If the babies don't meet their daily quota, they'll grind them up and cook their baby fat to render it into plastic used to make hard protective cases.

It's not like any of the Android manufacturers are saints. Eeesh... Lol...[/quote']

Capitalism can be dangerous in the hands of the greedy. And I've been stupid enough to fall for the buying trap on more than one occasion. At one point I owned 3 iPod Touches, 2 iPod Classics, 2 MacBooks, 1 MacBook Pro, 8 lines of Service on at&t, and 4 lines of service on Verizon all at once.

Some people and their lust for higher speed data are like some guys and their fixation on bigger boobs. More' date=' more, more, it is never enough. But what the heck are you gonna do with all of that?!

I want faster data because all I have ever had was slow data speeds. I think I'm entitled to fast data once in my lifetime.

  3.

I don't see Clearwire maxing out their spectrum holdings initially for LTE-Advanced. I can see them deploying at launch next year at least two ...maybe three 20 MHz carriers for its LTE network. Until Clearwire can claim those Lightsquared customers' date=' there is just no need to deploy four to five 20 MHz carriers when there is not enough demand for it. Its better for Clearwire to have some reserve spectrum to use for future expansion as oppose to going all out initially.

Keep in mind that the speeds don't need to go dramatically higher to satisfy customers. I am sure most of us would be happy with a consistent 10-15 Mbps LTE connection in most places we go to.[/quote']

True, but I like lots of speed! Give me higher speed data connections! Now, now, now! :)

  4. This is the most compelling hypothesis about LTE 800 device support (or lack thereof). And, to corroborate the hypothesis, the Sprint Network Vision roadmap has LTE 800 and LTE Advanced carrier aggregation coming online at approximately the same time. Coincidence or not?

    AJ

Then that makes perfect sense as to why LTE 800 devices aren't ready. I wonder what kind of devices they will be coming up with by the time LTE Advanced is ready.

  5. Same here. I really wish we had more info on what they were doing. I wonder if all that microwave and backhaul they setup will be robust enough to handle the new surge in data. Me thinks not.

With the LTE tests that they have performed in the past, their backhaul and microwaves will be more than sufficient. It's making sure that they build out the network appropriately to make their new partners happy.

  6. I too share some frustration that devices this year do not support 800 LTE. But I have gotten over it now. I think my biggest concern about not having 800 LTE was capacity issues. I don't want to have a device that is stuck on the sole 1900 LTE carrier that is full' date=' when a completely unburdened 800 LTE carrier goes live that I won't be able to access. But now that I know that Sprint has plans for more 1900 LTE carriers, that doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore.

    Robert[/quote']

Once they complete the rollout of LTE and they get most people over to LTE equipped smartphones, they won't have much use for extra EVDO capacity anymore. They could get by with minimal EVDO and then eventually shut it down too by the end of the decade.
