  1. That exceeds the maximum speed for a 5x5 carrier, which is approx. 37.5Mbps. Speeds faster than 37.5Mbps are suspect. Makes you think that the app made an error or the server on the other end. I had one speed test in my LTE performance testing that hit 40Mbps, but I ignored the result since it exceeded the maximum speed. However, I only had two speed tests out of 100's exceed 37.5Mbps, even standing in the same place with LOS of site of the panels, only 300' away. Can you keep that speed that high in repeated speed tests or if you change servers? Robert
  2. Looks like somebody walked from the parking lot into the Houseworks store running Sensorly. Robert
  3. You want to look at RSRP in the LTE Engineering screen under the Debug menu to determine your LTE signal strength. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/

  6. It's real. We have had that plotted in our Sites Complete map for approximately 6 weeks. Also, I have seen that Sensorly report grow in the past week or so. Also, it is spelled Pittsburg, no H. Probably an auto correct from Android caused that. It tried to force Pittsburgh just now on me too. It's one of my favorite places to go. It is the Fried Chicken capital of the U.S. And I have a fried chicken addiction. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  7. In my LTE testing for an article, I frequently experienced 0Mbps upload speed when I had a weak signal. It is because your device does not have the transmit power that the site does. So when you have a weak LTE signal, your device can still hear the site's much stronger signal, but the site cannot hear your device in return enough to transmit data that direction. 8. I have a question. It's a grammar question. I learned that in the case of LTE, you would use the article "a" before it and not "an", because LTE does not start with a vowel. So I would say (or type), "I upgraded to a LTE device." In my mind, it would be improper to say, "I upgraded to an LTE device." Granted, I went to military schools for most of my grade school education, but this is what I learned. I recognize that phonetically LTE sounds like "ell-tee-eee" and therefore many people fall back on using the article "an" because in their mind LTE sounds like it starts with a vowel. It actually sounds better if it is said aloud to use "an" because it sounds like it starts with a vowel. Kind of like El Camino. My question is this...is using the article "a" proper and anyone using "an" in the instance of LTE is incorrect? Or is it completely acceptable with English rules to use "an" when the noun in question phonetically sounds like it starts with a vowel, even if it does not? 9. With a 16Mbps speed, you probably had less than full bars. Probably more like 4 out of 5. But your signal strength indicator never shows LTE signal strength even when the 4G icon is shown. We have written about it here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
  10. It has not been posted yet. The scope of the testing grew and grew. Now all the testing is complete. We are writing a series of articles about LTE performance/radio performance. The first article will publish this week some time. Robert
  11. We performed testing on 1x and EVDO on 800, 850 and 1900 as well. The EVO LTE is definitely a weaker radio performer than several other Sprint devices. But it is mid range over all in total radio performance. But I wouldn't necessarily attribute this to a weak radio. It could be related to its metal back construction, and other factors. Robert
  12. Here, here! I would consider buying one if they did, and pay a $50 - $100 premium for it. Robert
